Fox Infinite on Peach using 89ers - no JC shines needed

- JC shine turnaround infinites are all the craze these days. But because it requires a 1 frame input at each turnaround, there's a high chance of screwing up if you go for say, 8 in a row. However, if you use 89ers (perfect or almost perfect waveshines), you can turnaround without needing the 1 frame input. This increases the consistency and practicality of the whole process.
Note: This isn't to say that you should be going for the infinite, as it is still hard to perform and staling really hinders the infinite. My video simply demonstrates the consistency of 89er turnarounds. Trying to achieve the same result, but replacing every 89er with a JC turnaround, would be much more difficult.
I recommend going for this 89er turnaround in only a few scenarios. 1) If the opponent is at extremely low percent where an uptilt would be techable, or an uptilt would not cause enough hitstun to lead into more aerials. 2) If the opponent is at high percent, but not quite upsmash kill percent.
If the opponent hard SDIs away, you can no longer perform the turnaround with just an 89er. The same is true with regular waveshine into JC turnaround -not possible if they hard SDI away. However, if you combine an 89er with a JC turnaround, you can turnaround an opponent that hard SDIs away. (I say opponent because this all applies to sheik and falcon as well, although a bit harder) Overall, you won't need to combine the 2 techniques against pretty much every opponent you play. Your opponent would have to be ridiculously good at SDI away because they either have to know exactly when you plan on turning them around, or they would need to SDI away every shine if they want to eliminate that prediction. For example, if they plan on SDIing away your last shine before the end of the stage, you as a Fox can just turn them around the shine before.
To give some insight on the distance of an 89er combined with a JC shine; you can infinite Marth (that doesn't SDI away) using this technique.
What does "hard SDI" mean? Can Fox continue the infinite even if Peach gets 2 SDI inputs away?
The Fox can continue waveshining the peach in one direction if the peach keeps doing SDI away on every shine. If that's the case, the fox would need to combine an 89er with a JC shine in order to turn the peach around and continue the infinite
@@Snivy102 Yes, but there are different levels of SDI. Are you saying it works either way even if the Peach does 1 or 2 SDI inputs?
@@equinox3861 I haven't tested that. A peach with the best possible SDI might be able to break the turnaround infinite. I don't think they'd be able to escape the regular one direction waveshine string though (assuming the fox uses an 89er and a JC shine)
