    • @Jebediah2
      @Jebediah2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While true, meniscus also refers to "the curve in the upper surface of a liquid close to the surface of the container or another object, caused by surface tension."

    • @bustedbone14
      @bustedbone14 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jebediah2 nice! Learn something new every day! I'm just good with biology and had that ' wait a minute' moment. Also the reason I said viscosity, although generally used to describe a syrupy consistency, is because it sounds similar and it leads to the unique qualities of water

    • @hunterberwick2392
      @hunterberwick2392 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same thing, especially since the meniscus is actually the OPPOSITE of the dome of water, from what I recall. The meniscus is the concave formation when measuring liquids in a container (like a measuring glass). I was always taught to read the volume of the liquid by the lowest level of the meniscus, rather than the highest part against the sides. Also, I think the term you were looking for wasn't "viscosity", but instead "surface tension."

    • @TdyYrLove
      @TdyYrLove 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two US coins make up 30 cents. A quarter (25 cents) and a nickel (5 cents). The statement is I have two coins in my hand that total 30 cents. And one of them is not a quarter..... Most people struggle to think of two coins that can total 30 cents. The only combination is a quarter and a nickel. But he said "one of them is not a quarter." So the viewer is left to think that the trick is impossible. But it is a play on words. "One" of the coins in his hand is not a quarter. This is true, one of the coins is a nickel (not a quarter). But the other coin is a quarter.

    the meniscus is in your KNEE! I think you mean viscous, which is also wrong. You mean surface tension.
    "A *meniscus* is a crescent-shaped fibrocartilaginous anatomical structure that, in contrast to an articular disk, only partly divides a joint cavity. In humans they are present in the knee, wrist, acromioclavicular, sternoclavicular, and temporomandibular joints;"
    "The *viscosity* of a fluid is a measure of its resistance to deformation at a given rate. For liquids, it corresponds to the informal concept of "thickness": for example, syrup has a higher viscosity than water."
    " *Surface tension* is the tendency of fluid surfaces to *shrink into the minimum surface area possible*. Surface tension allows insects (e.g. water striders), usually denser than water, to float and slide on a water surface."
