4:08 Here’s a fun fact: Did you know that between these 2 scenes, there was going to be a cameo - a SECOND cameo of Curly Howard playing the role of an angry chef. That cameo was to be about 10 seconds. The line goes like this: Curly, who lost a lot of weight and is wearing a fake mustache takes of his chef hat (toque), and puts on a barrette. Moe, Larry and Shemp enters the scene. Larry says “One rabbit and one hot dog!” Curly angrily shouts “Fix it yourself! I’m going to lunch!” Larry asks “Lunch?!” And Curly says “Certainly! You don’t think I’d be eating in this dump!” Curly exits the scene and it’s the last time we would’ve seen him in any of the stooge shorts. They were working on that project and there is even one surviving artifact of what they were working on, but due to Curly’s health which was continuously deteriorating, and other concerns, the final clip was deleted from the short. But at least we have that photograph of the scene!

@@terrorsaur599 I sadly doubt it. Outtakes and deleted scenes were rarely kept in this era. Videotape was expensive, so was wiped and reused, and film took up space, so it was often discarded. TV shows did it all the time (there are entire episodes of Doctor Who, The Avengers, Dad's Army, Z Cars, The Tonight Show, even the BBC broadcast of the Apollo 11 moon landing missing from the archives), and even the footage from the original cut of The Blues Brothers was thrown out after John Landis was made to cut it down for its theatrical release in the 1980s. Still, miracles happen on occasion - some episodes of the aforementioned shows have been recovered - so you never know.
This is one of their funniest for sure, but I need to tell you all a tale of my 2 sons, ages 5 and 7. The Stooges gave me and my brother, and all of our buddies, tons of laughs. Saturday morning from 7:00am until 11:00 am and then it was to the schoolyard or park to play ice hockey, ball hockey, football or baseball, depending on the season. So naturally I introduced my boys to the zany trio, and this while VHS recording devices were a couple of years out on the market. There was an episode where Curly was in a rocking chair and smoking a cigar. On the floor behind him was a cat with it's tail wagging back and forth underneath one of the rockers. Neither Curly or the cat could see what was going on, as the cat was looking elsewhere. Finally, after 7 or 8 rocking motions, the cat's tail got caught under the rocker and it let out the ghastliest of painful shrieks. Curly was so stunned that he gulped and swallowed his stogie. My boys cracked up and howled with laughter like I'd never seen or heard them do before. I replayed the scene 10 or 15 times and each time the same hilarious response. They're both in their 30's now and we discuss it from time to time.
Thats the way to bring 'em up. I hope you introduced them to Stan and Ollie too. In the uk, the BBC TV showed Stan & Ollie for decades, during the weekends, aimed specifically at children. But. like most all of their best stuff, they no longer treat the latest Generation of youngster's, the best (in my opinion ) comedy of all time. " TIMELESS!.... Love ' The Three Stooges ' and that cat and dog are so cute. If I had pets, I would want Them. "
One of my all time favorite episode, luv the stooges.
Not too long ago I learned that Curly was actually supposed to appear in this episode as a chef in the kitchen and a promo/test pic of him in costume alongside the other stooges does exist.
I could be 100 years old, I would still watch them 😂
Even to this day you can't beat the Stooges. I laugh at something that they do every time and wish people would just lighten up.
Me ...watching even tdy...
Comedy at its best 😅😮😊 👌 👍...
I been watching this for a long time, and it's still funny!
we had a neighbor, who was an retired film projectionist at our local Theater. sat and sun, he and his wife would set up their garage, like a theater and invite all us kids in to view his films he collected. i saw all the greats, the Stooges, Laurel & Hardy, Abott, on a reel movie projector in that little suburb garage remodled to look like a theater.
When I was a kid my mother wouldn't let me watch the Boys--said I'd grow up stupid. Well, I showed her I grew up stupid anyway.
Lol
Great sense of humor
Yeah i feel where you're coming growing up my mother hated the fact that i watched the three stooges which i never understood but now that im older i found out that a lot of females hate the stooges but they are my medicine i love watching them
I would always volunteer to take out the trash when I was growing up, so I could get stoned and have a cigarette.
After I was done, I would put the stooges on.
@Flatus Antiquitous Righty O, man. Righty O
I think I understand what Hassan Ben Sobar is. It’s a pun of "hasn’t been sober." 🤣
Hence Shemp's reply, "I had a few too many, myself!"
You are a real Alfred Einstein.
@@scottcole1496 Was that a joke or...? Cause his name was Albert not Alfred.
Shemp going all the way to the floor at 2:40 makes me crack up every time!!
As a kid.. the pasta cutting scene was so fun. I was born in the 80s and reruns of this were on all the time in the 90s. Without these guys we wouldn’t have the comedy we have today. They were revolutionary.
The cat noises killed me.😂😂
2018 and still funny! 69 years later
One of my top episodes. Think I know more lines than any other
"Will you give me five for this?"
"No, but I'll give ya two."
"I'll take it."
Anytime Moe said the word "two", you knew what was coming.
Basil Marasco 😂👍💜💜💜🇦🇺
Basil Marasco that bit is so funny 😂🤣😂🇦🇺
Also anytime he said"five", we knew what was coming. A palm.
My favorite part🤣🤣
Thanks for these. Crying with laughter
They thought he killed the cat & dog but they were alive!!! Thank goodness!!!
You ppl are super sensitive these days.
@@thankthelord4536 lmao he's just joking😂
When moe threw the noodles in shemp face 😂
Who's still watching in 2022???
2023 😮
People gonna be watching forever, timeless material…

The cat and dog, Santa, and giant spirit bits always get me.
It's when the hot dog licks Shemp's face. 😆
And Larry dunking his hot dog in the Mustard!
I’m 63 and I still love them
The look on Moe's face when he thought Larry killed that cat was priceless
I'm Hassan Ben Sober.: Shemp : I had a few too many myself. 😀
Baba Booey 😂🤣🤣🇦🇺
@@marilyntape508 , shrimp. I mean shemp
🤣🤣💀💀
@@alvexok5523 I call him shrimp sometimes too to me it sounds funny er
@@alvexok5523 three stooges
the first time i seen this (35 years ago) 6:10 the dog part when the windows closes on the dogs tail, the look on the guys faces and shemp’s reaction , i was on the floor laughing… i’m still on the floor laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Probably the funniest Shemp short 😂😂
Notice the cut away in the animal segments... even back then they had standards for animal safety.. the sounds were pre-recorded most likely cats and dogs sassing their own kind. 👍🏽🕊😂
Who's watching this show in 2021
One of the few times you see Moe smiling very happily at 1:32.
Haven't you seen him in that scene when Larry brokes the wall and says:" woodpecker"? I don't remember the tittle of the short
@@maritzajimenez6690 Goof on a Roof
At 13:38, dude sitting there laughing his a** off by himself reading the comics...LOL!
Love it!!!! There's a scene with Shemp laughing at comics like that in another short.
Oh yes... the cat and dog scene... and Larry... *holding stomach out of sheer laughter*
WatcherMovie008 Larry finishes the scene with his quip: "When it comes to cookin', I'm the cat's meow!". I was ROTFL!!!!
WatcherMovie008 Priceless!
An absolute classic scene.
I like how it shows how they didn't like the idea of animal cruelty back then just as today
@@oldrocker74 Don't forget... "Hot dog! When it comes to cookin'...".
I would have loved to see what the Curly cameo as the angry chef would have been like. Also it would have been like "Hold That Lion" where all three Howard brothers were on screen, but too bad they replaced it with Larry chasing the cat and dog. Still, a scene that would have sold.
