Dudley Dickerson gets my award for the best non-Stooge performance in a Stooges short in this one. My grandmother and I watched this when I was a kid and we both giggled like fools as he slipped his way across the kitchen. I still do now.

At 4:11 when Bud Jamison flips over into the cement trough which is ever-present in Stooge episodes, he says "WHAT THE..." essentially saying WTF or WTH. That's hilarious for 1940. Bud Jamison is outstanding in Stooges shorts.

I had that same thing happen to me!!!! I was helping a friend do some plumbing. He yelled over to me to get another piece of pipe!!!! I came back in 15 minutes and he wanted to know what took so long? I told him the pipe was clogged with wires, and it took me awhile to get them out!!¡!
If it were me I would have painted directly onto the film. You don't see the fire but for a few frames anyway. While the technology of the time was limited, there was a LOT more you could get away with back then given the low resolution and lack of color
Still to this day I'll never know how Curly got that valve off!!! He was using the pipe wrench backwards!! Those had to be right hand threads on that valve !!!!
