Ayano Tateyama As both a huge horror fan since I was a kid now nearly in my 30’s, having spent 28 years reading, watching, and writing my own horror stories, I can honestly say I loved and admired the show and the entire presentation, it’s actually what got me into Ito Junji, his take on horror and humor was amazing, the shows opening and ending themes both were so fitting in getting you pumped for the story then the ending being a sort of lullaby that both adds to allure while slowly placing you into a hypnotic trance. I can’t see why anyone would find the show or his work to be anything less than amazing and worthy of recognition as one of the best Japanese horror works around. Alike many others coming back to listen to this to remember the nights with my girlfriend watching this before bed and falling asleep to the lullaby.
Is it about the girl who died before his father... If true i didn't watch the anime bacause i have read the manga, i cried a lot after Reading the last page and it made me fell so sad for few day.

They seem pretty good. Interesting to hear this kind of virtuosic guitar used for this kind of style. the OP of Ito Junji has plenty of musical merit as well!

The ending of the after image collection was just so sad as fuck, and it was a second collection, then this song played and I just lost it. I fucking cried like a child.
I'm not even sure what message this song conveys and yet it feels like such an anthem for me, for my life. That doesn't even make sense, what I just said.
Despite being hated on for not really being that scary when it comes to junji ito's level, I still appreciate the animation they made, let's be honest no one is going to be able to do a perfect anime adaptation of a junji ito manga.
Theory wise, the song is written around a minor key. It resolves on 6 of the scale (the minor center of the key) which gives it definitely more of a melancholy feeling. The melody also plays into this minor feeling which sort of accentuates it. Normally if a song wants to be more ambiguous, it resolves on the 4 or an inversion of the 1 (you don't have to know what that means) and for happy it's written around the 1, whereas this song is centered around the 6. So while it's calming and peaceful, it definitely is melancholy and leans toward sadness.
I just wanna share my experience. I was eating spaghetti earlier, then i suddenly sang this Song making me remember the episode where the guy like to drink vegetable oil and got lots of pimple. I remembered it clear as crystal, the scene where the guy squeeze his face and something that looks like spaghetti came out. I can't eat no more. Then i listen to it now.
Out of all of the ED's in anime, I actually really like this one, while The Junji Ito Collection wasn't the best anime, I still enjoyed it and am glad to have finally finished it. I also hope to give some of the manga a shot, as well.
