This came out the year of my graduation from highschool. On top of the world, a hot summer, all doors open, a vibrant and social life - going out with friends, dancing at the local funfair, candyfloss and petty relationship drama. Things sure were easier back then, realization hits you quick - especially with the pandemic and all. I gladly discovered this song early, loved it right away and even copied some of the dance moves for those summer nights 2017.

She's the main actress from Love Exposure. Probably the craziest movie I've ever seen. It's almost four hours long and as soon as I finished, I wanted to watch it again. Not for the faint of heart but a beautiful movie nonetheless. She's great in it.

Christin Quinones All I can say is... Japanese haha. It's both funny and sweet as well as violent and terrifying. Like I said, it's probably the craziest movie I've ever seen but it's a masterpiece. Don't watch it if you can't handle overly theatrical violence. But the message is so beautiful. It's just such a unique movie.

This was actually filmed in three locations yet the transitions were made so seamlessly you can hardly notice the changes in location. If it’s not that I had lived in Hong Kong I think I would never have noticed it’s not really a one-shot video.

I would be interested to hear about where these were shot in Hong Kong, I think I recognise the markets. The colours in this video also give it a feel, never really seeing too many other people there you feel quite it would be secluded and lonely there.
But I remember HK quite bustling and exciting when I got to travel there, so this video is quite different from the experience I had when travelling.
How about yourself, I'm curious to hear how you feel having got to live there.

How is it that some people like her can just dance and move their body naturally and look so beautiful doing it? I look like scarecrow and tin man had a baby when I dance or pose.
Most of the time it's some sort of social pressure. You feel observed or ashamed. Then there is the "being aware of your body" exercice : you need to understand how your body moves, how your body looks and practice some simple moves to "unlock" your form. It's really simple when you work progressively and in front of a mirror.
I'm pretty sure she's had some ballet training. It's not that uncommon in Japan. At least half of the Japanese girls at my university could do ballet.
the key for me was always just time and repetition, not even necessarily practice. i taught myself to dance from going out to electronic music clubs for the past dozen years, and it's just second nature now! there's a comfort that you find in moving your body through dance after dancing so much. my best advice is to let yourself do whatever you feel the urge to do, literally. anything. it doesn't matter. all that matters is that you break out of the really tight little box that we tend to hold ourselves in -- "i can't move this way, that's silly. i can't move that way, i'm taking up space. i can't move like this, someone is watching." it just takes time and repetition, until you literally don't care if people are watching, and you're also so comfy with your own form of dancing that it's a treat for other people. another great tip is to learn RHYTHM. not dance moves. learn to keep time. learn to keep *different types* of time. to figure out what i mean; start by taking a single step on the "1" count of a song's beat. when you're not taking a step, just stay still and let yourself get comfortable within the music, noticing your body, etc. so the exercise goes: [step 2 3 4 step 2 3 4], pausing on the numbers. then, take a step on the 1 and the 3: [step 2 step 4]. then, take a step on the 1 and the 2: [step step 3 4]. then take a step on all four counts! once you get comfy you can switch it up, [step 2 3 step step 2 3 step]. see how these different ways of simply walking (moving your feet), show you different types of patterns in the music? finding these is how i became an amazing dancer. i wish you all the best!

I think this kind of genre is the most powerful part of J-pop comparing to K-pop. Instead confronting the idols of 48s they should appeal these kind of artists. also really good soundtracks from anime as well.

@@ryohnosuker They exist. It's called Tai Koo Estate, east side of the HK Island. Been there several times. It's like another dimension. However when she walks through the shop, she exits in Mongkok Market,which is in Kowloon. Also a surreal place :)

I discovered this song 3 years ago. I've been learning japanese for some time and I'm revisiting the japanese songs I knew. It's so nice to be able to read their titles, descriptions and understand some bits and pieces of the lyrics while listening.

I'm curious as to how long it takes for someone to decode and decipher text/characters that they did not originally grow up learning. Can you actually read Japanese lines just as easily and smoothly as reading English texts and know right off the bat what it's all about?
rsuriyop I think once you get down what each character (Hiragana, Katakana or Kanji) means in Romaji, and you know the grammatical rules a bit (like nouns prefixes vowels etc, which all in total take long I bet) you could figure it out and decode it pretty quickly. But I don’t think it will be the same as reading your own native language until you actually immerse yourself and live in Japan. I am Dutch and am learning German (and planning Japanese down the line) and once you understand the words it just clicks. I can read it without thinking twice. Not sure if this helps.
@@aeronautisch Japanese isn't sometihng that clicks once you understand the words, the grammar is the most difficult and important part of the language. The structure of the sentence can change the meaning of the words drastically. Japanese is easily one of the most difficult languages for native english speakers. So yes, you are right that it will take a serious time commitment.
also for future reference, "decoding" to romaji will just make learning Japanese much harder on yourself, avoid doing that as soon as you can read hiragana.
Onryo_ Sure of course the grammar is the most important part. Vocabulary is something you can just practice remembering. Grammar is different. But what I meant with translating to Romaji is, how I see it, you read the character and then you remember the pronounciation for it. For example, I see あ, and I remember it as “a”, pronounce it as “a” etc.
