I never realized this the first time or second time or third time I watched this, but I wonder if the fact that Wade loves someone who is dead and just can't reach them because he can't die is paying tribute to the fact that in the comics Deadpool loves Death (the actual cosmic entity) but can't be with her because Thanos cursed him with immortality out of jealousy
And that the actor playing thanos is also cable.
The way he keeps going back to the brink of death to see her is literally him "flirting with death"
Yeah, I enjoy that they used that plot point. It's a very important part of his character. Like how in the first movie, the pizza guy scene is actually a moment from a comic, though handled a little differently.
He actually couldn't do it on the comics because of his healing factor.

I maintain that this one moment qualifies Domino as the smartest person in this whole damn movie.
The PG13 version of Deapool 2 is called Once Upon A Deadpool.
They basically formatted it like The Princess Bride, where Deadpool is reading a story book to someone. That someone is the same kid from Princess Bride, only now an adult man.

Domino was also in Bullet Train. She was The Hornet; the one in the suit that catches Ladybug/Pitt at the end as a nod to this movie and the giant inflatable improvised luck cushion.

Thanos in Infinity War and Cable in Deadpool 2 - 2018 was a big Marvel year for Josh Brolin; two substantial character roles in two Marvel movies, both of which released a month apart from each other.

I love how there are a lot of marvel and DC references in this movie. "Hey big guy the sun is getting really low" is what black widow says when she is trying to calm the Hulk down

3:24 it was Deadpool 2 and it’s called Once Upon a Deadpool. For theaters and maybe on dvd/Blu-ray they did a PG-13 version of DP2 with scenes of Deadpool in the bedroom from the Princess Bride and Fred Savage.

Juggernaut is Cain Marko, Xavier's half-brother. In X-Men Evolution, he was a mutant, but usually he isn't. His powers come from the Gem of Cyttorak. So he's magic. It's where his classic red and maroon costume comes from. Kind of the official uniform for Cyttorak.
In the 90's cartoon, Rogue tried to leech his power and got fucked up pretty bad. Turns out trying to absorb magical power is a real bad idea for her.
Actually Cain Marko is his stepbrother and when they were young Cain's dad treated Xavier kindly and abused Cain. Xavier accidently read his mind and Cain found out leading to Cain hating Xavier.

Yeah, he's Xaviver's half-brother--his father married Xavier's mother. Juggernaut hates Charles because his father favored Charles over him. Juggernaut isn't a Mutant, but he's associated with them. His powers come from Crimson Cyttorak.
X-Force was a team started by Cable and Domino. An offshoot of the X-Men, X-Force takes a more militant and aggressive approach towards its enemies compared to the X-Men. I found it amusing that in both movies they used the "Go get 'em, tiger" line which is what Mary Jane always says to Peter(Spider-Man).

The best part near the first few minutes that no one notices until their 2nd or 99th rewatch.... The big baddie he's chasing while slaughtering all his henchmen is running in slow motion..... and the rest of the scene is in real time. HE IS LITERALLY CHASING A GUY WHO IS RUNNING IN SLO-MO WHILE HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE IS MOVING AT NORMAL SPEED. lol.
Josh Brolin is also the Stepson of Barbara Streisand ( very famous singer/actor)
Cable’s real name Nathaniel Summers, son of Cyclops aka Scott Summers and Jean Grey’s clone, in comics at least.
so the Essex House thing is a reference to Nathaniel Essex, aka Mr. Sinister, a major X-Men villain. If you've ever seen a creepy pale dude with a red diamond on his forehead, that's him. He's not exactly a mutant, since he was given his powers by Apocalypse, but he's spent a lot of time manipulating other mutants and trying to break free from apocalypse. Sinister was actually responsible for Cable's birth. He was trying to cultivate mutant bloodlines to create a mutant powerful enough to permanently destroy Apocalypse, and to that end he wanted Scott Summers and Jean Grey to have a kid. Buuuut then jean went Dark Phoenix and died, so Sinister created Madelyne Pryor, a clone of Jean without her memories, who Scott ended up falling in love and having a kid with.
X-Force is still a thing. In the current comics it's basically the CIA for the new mutant nation of Krakoa, doing all sorts of terrible stuff to keep the people safe.
Juggernaut was in one of the X-Men movies (Days Of Future Past, I think), played by Vinnie Jones.

(At 34:10) stepbrother, Cain Marko and Charles Xavier are stepbrothers. Juggernaut's not even a real mutant, he's an avatar of the demon, Cyttorak. We saw one of his bands (chains) from Doctor Strange.

Once upon a Deadpool it’s just Deadpool 2 with censors and a funny little Christmas-ish kidnapping of some guy who was a beloved child actor in a Christmas movie that I never saw
Cable is a tenchnopath. He contracted a mechanical virus that's why he is turning into a machine. He can control technology. He's the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and a Jean Grey clone.
He's actually a full psionic with the potential to be stronger than Jean Grey. The core of his powers are being used to hold back the techno-organic virus which is why he only displays low level techno-pathy/telekinesis.
There is an alternate version of Cable called X-Man(Nathanial Summers) who never contracts the virus and thus becomes one of the most powerful mutants in existence.
Once Upon a Deadpool was a fun version of this movie. A several things that are different that made it worth watching

It was good, but nothing beats the super duper cut
i loved when Juggernaut and Colossus went toe-to-toe, they were 2 of my favourite characters from X-Man the Animated Series....yes Juggernaut's powers are magical (sometimes they activate his dormant mutant powers, sometimes they are tied directly to the gem, and he has no powers to begin with), the gem allows him to activate The crimson bands of Cyttorak, giving him his powers, which are only a fraction of the powers, as Juggernaut has become even stronger and more powerful over the issues
Juggernaut is Charles Xavier's step brother (his dad married Charles mother, mostly for her money), Juggernaut was Charles bully and began to hate him after his father started to beat on him (he protected Charles just so he wouldn't lose the marriage and money)
Now because Juggernaut's powers are magical, they have been transferred or stolen from him, including Colossus, Doctor Doom, Black Tom, Howard the Duck (Guardians of the Galaxy appearance) ,and Charles Xavier himself
juggernaut is a great and insanely strong/intimidating villain (his whole life he’s been abused and a big part of his character is not being able to be hurt or stopped, his biggest fear is being weak again)
So, Cable is from the future and the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey) - he is essentially a technopath.

Am I tripping or is the kid eating the frosted flakes a reference to Legion? Coz I think it's the same actor who played the kid version of David, aka Legion in the tv series. (One of the most ridiculous mutants ever)

The original story of Deadpool: Wade courted Death so much in his career as a mercenary, Death fell for him. Thanos loved Death, but realised that Death herself was in love with Wade Wilson. So Thanos made Wade immortal so he could never be with Death.
To be honest, that would have been a much more satisfying story.
I've never noticed until recently, but is Vanessa supposed to be like the live action version of death? In the Comics Deadpool is in love with a Female version of death, and can only see her in near death experiences
If I recall Vanessa and lady death are not the sams, and also in the comics, Vanessa was a 16yo "lady of the night" that wade fell In love with.
Depends on what orgin story the writers were following

a universally applicable 'power dampening collar' is one of those particularly 'out there' things we find in such tales. for it to do it's job, it would need to be specifically set for each case. And like as not each case would require a bit of studying to figure out HOW to dampen a particular power.
So, they did make a Pg-13 version called Once Upon A Deadpool. They added in parts where Deadpool kidnaps Fred Savage, the actor who played the kid in the Princess Bride, and re-enacts the story telling scene. Tying him up in bed, and reading him the evens of Deadpool 2
In comics Juggernaut is on par with the hulk, and even has a form on World Breaker Hulks level or maybe even above that, but Juggernaut is a beast he even survive a guy on Galactus’s lvl without much trouble

Just was thinking from your Deadpool review. You mention a character from the DC Universe with a similar name to Deadpool's real name Wade Wilson. That was Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke. He was one bad supervillain and didn't crack jokes.
I don't know if they made Domino aware how she can use her powers here. but for her to be lucky she needs to draw the luck of others. thats why the whole team became unlucky and died.
