Dragon types didn't become ridiculous until 4th gen hit (because they were all physical, and Dragon was all special attacks).
Not to mention Charizard would still have been a Dragon type with pretty average stats, so he would still be fair if he had been Dragon type from the start. He would have been shafted about as fast as poor Flygon did, with their similar stats.

Charizard has a ton of people who really like him. get over it. He's right up there with any other pokemon when it comes to popularity. Not everybody who plays pokemon games are hardcore competitive players who care who's viable and who's not. There are over 800 pokemon and most aren't viable in top tier pokemon competitive play anyways.
Pokemon is literally the biggest media franchise in the world. Pikachu, Charizard, Grennija, etc... will always be popular. The games aren't the only thing that sell afterall.

Most overrated from my POV is undoubtedly Greninja. Its has a good offensive potential but it doesn't last too long since its defenses are extremely low
Yizhen OuO Charizard is more overrated. Like at least Greninja is good in competitive with a sash lead or an offensive life orb attacker. Greninja didn't need a mega to be a good Pokemon unlike Charizard.
Protean Greninja is fine. Battle Bond Greninja to me was nice to see in the anime, but i wouldn't take that over the Protean ability.
You guys are crazy. Greninja is a massive threat. Especially Choice Specs Battle Bond. Even if you don't play Smogon formats, it still is everywhere and puts in work. Suicide leads are wasted potential IMO.
When it comes to popularity as a Pokemon in general, I'd agree with you. But competitively it's used a lot and for good reason.

Greninja is indeed overrated, but there is one pokemon from Pimpnite team that I don't get and that is Mimikyu. I don't know why mimikyu is on the Overrated theme team. Eevee should've been on this theme team. It's more popular than Mimikyu.
Greninja has slow defenses, any pokemon that survives an attack will pretty much one shot it

No hate or anything to your channel, but "overrated" Pokemon are just Pokemon that a lot of people like. Charizard and Pikachu have been with me since Pokemon: Red Version; I have been in love with Greninja and the role it played in the XY anime, Lucario is an amazing partner, and Mimikyu is basically just a Pokemon who needs a friend, like Gengar.
The whole reason I got into Pokemon was thanks to this little Pikachu plush I had for my 6th birthday. I loved it like there was no tomorrow, and when I saw my favorite toy's head on some products, I couldn't resist. Years later, here I am.

dude chill. overrated doesn't mean these pokemon are bad or that pimpnite hates them. overrated just means the fans have a bias towards these pokemon and because of that the company does too. meanwhile pokemon like corsola, vileplume and lumineon are kinda just forgotten.

Contrary assist "Beer" Team: Use a contrary assist spinda called Beer since it looks like it had too much beer if shiny even better, one smeargle with spore, trick room, spider web and oblivion wing so spinda can heal and get faster, the rest of the pokemon with moves that boost spinda if by +2 if possible.

Greninja isn’t overrated it’s earned it reputation through protean and battle bond he is everything that he looks... awesome!
Nathaniel Beadle it is overrated, if it doesn’t kill a pokemon it will get ohko’ed. It has a good attack, special attack and speed stats but low health and defense stats which really backfires.

Nathaniel Beadle i still like greninja, he has an awesome design but even a rattata can kill an uber. His protean ability really does power-up his attacks but I prefer a pokemon with average attack and better defenses. For competitive I’d choose another pokemon over him. But I still love water types and greninja isn’t the exception.
