As an old Islander fan I always used to hope they would trade for him after they let Butch Goring go in 84. He always had a scoring touch and could have been a good leader to that transitioning Islander team of the mid 80's.
his plus / minus was awful but to score 878 points in 888 games is damn impressive. His defense probably cost him as far as his coaches were concerned. I guess that explains his being traded from the Caps.
