      Exactly. The instructions that come with the blinds are OK but in some places are too ambiguous to follow them with confidence.

    Wasted 2 hours yesterday trying to feed those ladder cord ends back into the bottom rail and line them up with the slots in the buttons to hold them tight. Just spent 7 minutes watching you use needle nose pliers and NOT trying to match up the ladder cord ends with the slots in the buttons. You just saved me from seriously considering suicide. I can now go back to my friends' house and shorten the remaining blinds and not look like a complete idiot in the process. Levolor needs to update its "picture" instructions to include those 2 very important install hints. Thanks, buddy!

    This video is genius! I bought 3 Levalor blinds that needed to be shorted a lot and the instructions that came with them is useless! Matter-of-fact I spent all morning trying to do what they said and broke all three buttons and what a mess! But somehow after hours of struggling and frustration, I salvaged that one. After I watched this video I was able to do the other 2 in about 30 minutes! You need to contact Levalor and offer to sell this video to them!

    I’m having trouble removing the buttons. I tried several devices but the rim around the buttons cracked as if dry rotted. Called Levolor and they are aware of the button problem. I was advised to return the blind for another pair. However, I’m concerned about the next set 😮.

    Getting the buttons out is not nearly as hard as getting them back in. Threading the cords up into the hole is not a problem. Getting the cords into the grooves in the button so that it fits back into the hole is impossible! If not in the grooves, the cords take up too much room so that the buttons will not go back into the holes. Any suggestions or secrets? I've done everything else necessary for 11 sets of blinds (various sizes), thanks to your video, but I cannot get the buttons back into the holes properly. I've got to go back to finish the job - hoping for instructions or "master" secrets. Your cords are not exactly aligned into the grooves, but you don't have trouble getting yours into the hole with little effort. Mine are only fitting back in the hole if the cords are in the grooves. Everything has gone smoothly.

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      HI, Sometimes these jobs can be tedious! No doubt that's what those grooves are for, but seems like to key is to not allow the cord to be bunched up to bad and they should flatten out when you push it back in. I'm sure it's a matter of trial and error.... which of course after 11 sets of blinds you've already done!

    • @rebeccabee123

      @@TheHomeImprovementChannel Thanks! I've tried holding them taut after threading them up through the hole, which may help a tiny bit but hard to do while trying to keep the blind from coiling back upwards. This is at a rental property - I'll have to go back over there to attack it again today or tomorrow. Some seem to pop in easily - others not going back in at all. I may take a file and try to file down the button just enough to make it fit? Getting the cords into the grooves while fighting the pull of the blind and holding the cords taut is frustrating and time-consuming. I was hoping you had a secret to success! Those that I've completely finished look great! Your video was the best I found - short, to the point. With lots of slats to remove, I did find that cutting the horizontal ladder cords first was the easiest way to remove all the slats at one time. They fall on each other in a stack and are easily removed as you move down the ladder. A big time-saver.
