This was so much easier to understand than any of about 10 other videos I tried looking at. Thank you so much! One of you doing the cutting, explaining the principle of the uncuttable cord, and the other one asking questions and commenting really makes it even clearer.

Omg! My blinds have been too long for about 5 years now and I thought surely there was a way of shortening them but never looked into it as the instructions never say how to! Project for tomorrow, much to my husbands delight 😂 Thank you for doing a step by step guide, making it look easy! 👍

On the wider blinds snap off ends of the slat then snap middle section no scissors needed saves a lot of time. I would also leave one more slat than in video so bottom of blinds will rest on the sill. Great video, also noticed his wife had a lot of good input. :-)

Thank you for this video! It was a lifesaver. We purchased cordless faux wood blinds at an emporium shop, and they were brandless and discounted. But actually very good quality blinds! However, there were no instructions with them. Your video was instrumental in helping me zip through 11 blinds….and by myself without my husband’s help, to boot!! They turned out perfect 🤩!!

Thanks so much, that made the job a lot easier. Not cutting that first ladder string is really important, because it allows you to push the strings into the bottom rail until they're both tight without worrying about getting them even. And the instructions don't even state that, or at best it's implied in the diagram.

Nice video. Just one suggestion: As for the bottom rail, instead of twisting the strings you could put a double knot and then push them into the hole.

Thank you for posting this video. A couple of years ago I installed and shortened the blinds to fit my tiny narrow window. it was scary. I did save the directions. about a year before that I had someone install blinds on another tiny, narrow window. Since I was able to successfully shorten the very very long blind on that window I finally decided to tackle this other one. I’m so glad you posted this video because it was so much easier to understand than the directions. I didn’t bother to look for and give me a little bit of comfort while doing so. 😊. I’d post a pic but I don’t see an option and I don’t go on TH-cam that much. Thanks again!

Thanks! I think a lot of times people confuse the standard Venetian blinds with the newer cordless ones. Or they don’t want to cut the slats so they can use them as replacements. I *hope* you didn’t cut the tension cord like we did the first time we tried to install these.
