  • The good folks at Ducati Winchester allowed me to borrow a 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro for a couple of days. I took it on pavement, tar & chipped roads and even off road. Hope you find my review informative and let me know if you have any additional questions.
    To see the bike in person or to check out other bikes in the Ducati line up be sure to check out Ducati Winchester/Duc Pond Motosports.

    I just bought one, and I've been watching all the Enduro vids on TH-cam. I'll pick it up when I get the title in hand for the KTM 1190 Adventure I'm trading. I like the 1190, but it never started in the cold without a jump and KTM never did fix it for me, and I live in Mass so it's cold for a big part of the year. I'm really looking forward to my new Multistrada Enduro. Come on Spring, get here already!

      Congrats on the bike. I'm with you on wishing spring would get here. We've seen some glimpses but still not here.

    thanks for bike review with the camera pointed at the bike or the road ahead . especially appreciated the, all too often neglected, passenger opinion.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. It's always surprised me how even the big magazine seldom mention the passenger.

    Great review. Think you've convinced me to go for it. Liked the words from the missus as well. Nice idea when considering buying it.

      Thanks! I think it's important to have the opinion of a passenger, especially for a bike made for touring. Fortunately, she's more than willing to test the bikes out with me.

    totally agreed, the handguards are super fragile any minimal touch and they crack right away, ducati must think in different materials or steel insert, other than that, great enduro bike

    Any thoughts you’d like to share on “vibrations” coming through the handle bars, foot pegs, frame
    and seat. Especially at cruising speeds. Thanks. obtw very nice review

    • @2WR
      @2WR  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, I did notice that the Multistrada vibrates much more at idle than my KTM. My first thought was, "Am I sitting on an Italian Harley Davidson?" That said, once you got it up to speed, the vibrations pretty much vanished. At highway speed, they were basically non-existent. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Nice job, you make really good videos. Downside to Ducati is the required timing belt changes and valve adjustments.

    I appreciate you were well versed in the features of the bike. However, I can look those up anywhere. I would have liked to hear more about it's handling. My biggest questions is.....How in the hell did you find so many straight roads in an area full of twisty roads? haha, looked like you were riding in Florida.

    Like you I'm coming from FJRs, I'm on my second a late 2016 five speed AE (In the UK that's electronic suspension and standard clutch) and I'm at a quandary as I don't want or really care for the BMW GS or Triumph Tiger. My choices come down to a Multistrada Enduro or 1290 Super Adventure T like you own. Being European I know these bikes have their "foibles" and watching the revue hasn't made my choice any easier! My wife has already been on the back of an 1190 Adventure S and liked it so I think it will be down to her which we choose. We already own a few Ducatis, one being a 2007 ST3S/ABS which she reckons is the most comfortable bike she's ever sat on. My guess is she'll go Ducati, I'm honestly 50/50.....

    lol I was binge watching multistrada endure vids, one was even in Italian w subtitles, and yours came up. Different font on the thumbnail didn't notice it was you until you spoke. Btw about things not coming standard, why don't these bikes come with radiator guards, doesn't make sense.

    • @2WR
      @2WR  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HAHA! Yeah, I decided to use a Ducati-style font for this one. For "all-world" bikes plus the price of these things, they really should come totally loaded.

    Quite an excellent review. Could you compare and contrast (in greater detail) engine, suspension, brakes, chassis, etc. between the Enduro and your SA?

    • @2WR
      @2WR  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's been quite awhile since I've ridden the Enduro but I find the KTM to be a little more refined than the Enduro. Brakes are a wash; both have great brakes. Both also have very good suspensions. I prefer the KTM because you can dial it in separate from the "ride mode" unlike the Ducati where they are tied together. I like the seating position on the regular Multistrada and Mulitstrada 950 better than the Enduro. I feel like I'm sitting down too far on the Enduro so once again, I side with the KTM. Engines? They have similar numbers but different characteristics. The KTM power delivery feels much smoother to me as the Ducati feels much more "raw." It really comes down to which one your prefer. Obviously, I prefer the SA since that's the one I spend my money on but I do believe there will be some others that will like the Enduro more. Both are great bikes; it's going to come down to personal preference. Hope that helps.

    A quick question. I'm considering on getting one, but on my test drive a felt that the weight was to high. Any thoughts?

    • @2WR
      @2WR  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The weight does feel a bit top heavy, which may be due to how the seating position is on the bike. To me the Enduro is a sport touring bike that can do some light-duty offroading. I think if you're going to be riding on paved roads most of the time, it'll be a lot of fun. However for serious off-roading, I'm not so sure. I had a KTM 1190 Adventure R out this weekend (video review coming soon) and that thing was awesome off-road. Of course it was also outfitted with TKC80 knobbies.

    NIce review. I didn't hear you mention anything about engine heat. Heard that as a negative on another review. What's your take?

    • @2WR

      I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. That said, it wasn't the warmest time of year when I tested it out either.

    So are you still happy with the 1290 or would you consider trading for the Multistrada? Only asking because I have me eye on these two bikes. I test rode the multi and now I am looking for a ktm dealer that will let me test ride the 1290.

    • @2WR
      @2WR  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ducati Enduro is a nice bike. There is absolutely no way I would ever take it over my 1290SA.

      thanks for the reply. I liked the on road mannerisms of the multi but I have to check the 1290.

    If the seat were a little lower I’d buy one. It says here it’s not. I sat on a 2016 a little while ago, and I noticed there wasn’t a way to lower it. My feet lacked about an inch for being flat on the ground. He says Ducati makes a lower seat. For the Enduro? I gotta look into this. I really want the 2016 I’ve been looking at. It’s got less than 5k miles on it.

    • @2WR
      @2WR  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How come there is only one comparison video between the enduro and 1290SA and that is in Italian? I would think many people interested in these bikes would appreciate this?

    • @2WR
      @2WR  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't say for sure. I think the new Enduro Pro is a better match for the 1290SA but then again, the SA-T model isn't being produced for the 2018 model year.

    • @hansenallan84
      @hansenallan84 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 Wheeled Rider really? Forgive my ignorance, T is the touring version ant SA R is the one they should compare to the enruro pro?

    • @2WR
      @2WR  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bike in the video is the Multi Enduro. I think the new Multi Enduro Pro is a much more fair comparison with the SA-T than the Enduro is. That said, the SA-T is NOT in the 2018 model line-up and the Enduro Pro didn't enter the Ducati line-up until 2018. I don't think the SA-R would be a fair comparison with the Enduro or Enduro Pro as it is set up for much more aggressive off-road riding with larger wheels (21/18 v 19/17), more ground clearance, higher seat height and smaller fuel tank. Also the SA-R is missing an electronic suspension. So to answer your original question, I think you aren't finding many of those comparisons because the two most equally matched bikes weren't made the same model years.

    • @hansenallan84
      @hansenallan84 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 Wheeled Rider aha! I see! Yes, that makes sense! Thank you!
