pls explain me how there can be two cost you have sent me 2 answers i think answer no.1 will be appropriate.. because we can determine the selling price by multiplying 434.78 with 15% like 434.78 x 15%= 65.217..now add 65.217 to 434.78 we get 500 which is the selling price . in answer 2 you have written 425 as cost price which i didn't get as you cant determine the selling price .... like 425 x 15% = 63.75 and adding 63.75 into 425 gives 488.75 as selling price not 500

Ameen Bekal : on what price do you want 35% on 1st of all. I imagine u mean it on the cost of product. Than Lets say your product say apple costs $ 100 And you want 35% margin on each apple u sell. Then, Cost of apple = 100 35% margin on cost = 35% X 100 = 35/100 X 100 = 35 And therefore Your selling price would be :. = cost of apple + margin = 100 + 35 = 135. Now you would sell that apple with a price tag of $ 135

But 35%( $105) is not the gross profit, is the margin, whright??...Gross profit is 25%
105/405= 0.259 wich is 25%
