No code but ticking and vibration seems to be felt and heard from that pipe. Could I be catching the issue before it’s bad enough for ECU to detect? Or do I have bore wash? Injector problems? Do you get codes for injector failure or bore wash?

This fixed my rough idle like 90% at the beginning I was having bad time on turning my car on, then I replaced and it's much better, still struggling a little bit, so that only tell me that is a vacuum leak in some place...
@@majestics7748 I didn't replace the line, at the end I went to the dealership and they do a programming and a cleaning service on my sensors, and my car improved another 5 % lol sometimes I got the rough idle but nothing compared to before, what is next is cleaning injectors in a lab or ultrasonic bath... What is "CDB309 No Description Found" code about? I got it too after I flashed my car using bootmod3 Stage 2 93. bootmod3 support basically told me to ignore it. Did the code go away permenantly after you replaced the part? I don't have check engine light on and I am not sure if the code was there before I flashed it, I just found it after the flash.
Just for your info, I also got the CDB309 code after I flashed MHD on my car (F30 B58). MHD support told me pretty much the same thing as the one you heard from BM3..
I have a question. So i got a drivetrain malfunction and took it to the dealer to diagnosis and they said this was causing it. Rather than paying them over $700 for something that seems pretty simple, i bought the valve and i’m doing it myself. Question is how do i reset the drivetrain malfunction message or does it go away once i replace the valve?

This is the code the dealership showed I have in the video, it does show Tank ventilation system 2 though which concerns me, is it the same thing? Also said I needed a software update once it's been replaced to prevent it from happening again, so $850 for this part and $250 for the software update. Is the software update something I would be able to update using the JB4? If not what do you recommend?
They want me to replace the Evap line connected to it as well with the monitor. Feel like that shouldn’t be too troublesome right? The update is the only thing I might do since I researched and don’t see how to update that myself.
I have a helicopter sound coming from the gas tank below 3/4 tank and the car will randomly lose power and stutter going from a stop. It’s fine when the tank is full. @@ned123ify yeah. I took it to an independent BMW mechanic. It had something to do with the gas vent valve and they had to do some programming. I can’t remember the specifics of it and don’t have any of the paper work, I sold that car earlier this year. The place I took it is called Momentum Motorworks in Birmingham Alabama. They are super nice and if you called them and use my name they might be able to pull up my records and tell you what they did. It was on a m240i. I posted earlier with their phone number but it got taken down. Just google them.
my m340i does exact thing too. I wonder if this is my fix too. I just filled up and car started up fine but idled loopy for like 7 seconds till i gave it alittle gas and it got back to normal

Is the noise eliminated by removing the fuel cap? Yes - Go to step 2. No - Go to step 3. 2. Reprogram the vehicle with ISTA 4.17.1X or higher. • The target integration level will be F020-19-03-540 or higher • 4.17.1x available late April 2019 • Always connect a BMW-approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10). • For information on programming and coding with ISTA, refer to CenterNet / TIS / Technical Documentation / Programming and Diagnostics / Programming Documentation 3. If the noise continues with the fuel cap removed, then the noise may be related to the fuel pump itself. Continue troubleshooting to isolate the root cause and repair the vehicle as needed.
Once we replace the ventilation valve, do we have to clear the code or will the car do it on its own? I have been having this issue and finally was able to get a tech to check the CEL. This looks like a simple fix, if I don't need to take it to the shop for an easy repair that'd be awesome. Thank you for sharing!

To fix this fault FC 21A02D - Combustion control: valve lift correction when at idle I had to rest all adaptions I tried a lot of other this at cost and this fixed it for me I used ist + work perfect cars perfect now and no fault codes showing
I’ve unfortunately topped off my gas tank too many times ( don’t do it anymore ) and after filling up with gas when I come to a red light or stop sign I experience a few stumbles in my idle. No CEL or anything and after driving for about 5 miles or so it goes away. It continues to do this even though now I’m not topping off anymore. Is this the part that I need to replace to fix this? I hear people talking about purge/breather/vent valve all in same sentence...why did I think it’s something in the actual gas tank?
Scott I have the SAME issue as you. No codes or CEL but after full up the gas tank it stumbles in idle at the stop light! Mine is usually at 600rpm and drops or hiccups to 400-500rpm and comes up again. Wondering if it’s this valve or the Carbon Canister??? Did you end up changing the valve?
If it explicitly says Tank Ventilation then yes I would say that’s your issue. This is the valve that controls the tank ventilation, it could be something else as it doesn’t explicitly say it’s the valve (unless it does) but most likely this will resolve your issue.

It’s a code that happens when you flash the car, I’m not entirely sure what the root cause is but all the flashed cars I have been in have it.

I honestly doubt you need the software update, if your car is tuned that update will lock your DME and make it untunable.

@@JonBecker81 im curious if doing this locks the ECU as i am tuned and do not want to lock it. After they did it did it stop the noise??

Other than the error code how did you know the part was gone was it making a taping noise as mine is you see
The taping noise is normal because the valve is electronically actuated. You’ll know it is the issue by the codes and the symptoms.
