I don't play England much at all. But in an mp game where there is a strait at Kent and with a strong Burgundy controlled by Zlewikk, this England was extremely unprepared.

does any one know the difference between imperial ban and imperial campaign cb? and can i only take hre provinces? or can i take more with one of those two cbs?
imperial ban is for reclaiming hre provinces and imperial campaign is to add them to the hre iirc
they are basically the same but different wargoal. And you can only retake hre provinces

@@tigrecito48subjects are in the HRE if their capital is in the HRE. Same thing for released nations, if their capital is gonna be in the HRE after being released they will be in the HRE.
You CANNOT force Sweden or Norway into the HRE via Imperial ban CB against Denmark in case that's your question.
If it's smaller nations and they border the HRE but aren't inside it, then by releasing them you may be able to diplomatically invite them to join the HRE, since releasing a nation that didn't exist gives you a big positive relations boost with them.
If you want to force a nation into the HRE via war you need to use the appropriate casus belli And they need to have relatively low development (they themselves and their subjects if they have any).
Alternatively you can force nations into the HRE by taking their capital/highest dev province with their primary culture in a war, adding that province to the HRE, giving it back to them and then taking their new capital, which will assign a new capital (highest dev province of their culture or their starting capital usually), since the capital is a HRE province they become part of the HRE then. That's usually exploited to add nations like Russia or the Ottomans to the HRE after the second last reform has been passed so you can annex them for free by forming the HRE while they can't leave the HRE anymore.
@@europe5281 ok thanks for the info.. im trying to do a badass austria playthru.. got milan, burgundy, hungary, poland, lithuania, naples as pu's, just did the denmark war... released holstein and rugen and norway.. norway didnt join as you said.. im trying to get all provinces in hre to get max authority.. is there an event to get burgundy into hre as my pu? they have more than 200 development.. maybe 300 ish.. cos they immediately integrated all the netherlands ones when i got them as a pu.. do i just wait for some event to happen? or do i need to take provinces from burgundy until its lower than 200 dev? i only have dlcs up to emperor so dont have newer mission trees.. i went into burgundy to see what the mission tree is for joining hre but it states they have to be independent so would be kinda hard to release them and then somehow get them back as a pu or vassal later on?

Presumingly he was larping. Or thinking he could somehow get to use the monument without anyone killing him over it. Terrible idea early game, smart mid to late depending on situation (imo).

@aaturauhala3367 still dunno if it's worth it early even if you do that. Even if you have the english navy you're still painting a target on your back consisting of every med player

The mod is strange, it doesn't make much sense to me that defender of faith should be strongest with the lowest amount of followers.
It makes perfect sense for multiplayer because it promotes diversity. Everyone wants to have a religion noone else has.
Beforehand we had situations where 15 players ended up orthodox.
It also rebalances a lot of religions to make them playable in mp

So he had a nice war with Milan where he occupied all of its provinces ezcept one. That last one was occupied by Venice.
Instead of taking all these provinces he went greedy and vassalized Milan, which brought him into Venice war. Pope immediately attacked Framce because of that as well.
At this point fully commited France could 2v1 them (just so you are aware at the point of war escalation and Morocco joining it France had 0 loans while Pope like 30).
So 1. He was greedy and 2. He didnt properly commit early. He could separate peace Venice super quick as he had 40% warscore thanks to Milan and just focus on Pope.
I did not want to join these wars as it was very obvious it would escalate for our disadvantage and they called Morocco and Hesse there. People in Europe were also generally not happy about France Burgundy alliance so it could escalate even worse. Especially that Denmark HRE emperor wanted to protect empire lands

Tl dr this wasnt doing him dirty but actually helping him understand that the only way of him getting victorious out of this bad situation caused by his greed is me not joining that war.
When Morocco and Hesse joined even me going over fl, hiring mercs (which I did) was not enough.
He also received a big chunk of money from me during that war.
It's quite sad that me doing my best to help a less experienced played is 'dishonorable'
I could also just kill him next session because of these missplays, but I can already spoil to you I'll keep him alive and help expand even though 9/10 players wouldnt do that
