I've actually done that Saluzzo run! A few tips: Try restarting for Savoy choosing giving the provinces to Geneva. This results in them being small enough to full annex, giving you an extra 4 provinces from the two vassals. Being threatened by Savoy gives you a much easier chance of being able to establish relations with burgundy. You can give them some Genevan land and get return cores later, and also go for burgundian inheritance. Vassalizing Provence and giving them Corsica will give them cores on all of Naples, this is pretty standard tech. Try grabbing a single province from them to release them after France and friends full annex the rest. A friendly Burgundy, mixed with some opportunism can let you get some releasables in France. You want to destabilize France early. Pushing into Iberia too is also beneficial. Overall by 1500ish you should be looking to form S-P (keeping Salluzese ideas), have a good chunk of southern France, northern and southern Italy, and a few islands including stuff needed for S-P. It's a very fun run! But be prepared for a lot of restarts. The first 5-10 years are crucial. Switzerland and Burgundy are typically your best bet for allies.
You can do something very similar in Northern Germany. If you form Pomerania, which is fairly easy, then you get -20% AE impact from a mission, which can then also be chained with AE impact from Prussian ideas
The most fun playthroughs are playing with western hordes in european part of the continent and expanding westward. With espionage and horde ideas you can annex nations faster than they could join coalitions.
that Intro made me tear up from laughing :D I remember my very first game, where I decided to play Würtemberg and didn't know AE exists. Until Austria came knocking :D
I think the lowest base AE you can get for taking a province is technically 0.1% AE not 1%. This assumes using coalition CB to retake your cores which is at a CB modifier of 10%. But everyone can easily get to 0.75% AE if they already staked Admin eff. and AE reduction. Simply by using Holy War CB or Imperialism CB. Another one that people sleep on is culture switching to use Nationalism CB for 50% AE from taking culture group provinces. In this case this would yield 0.5% base AE.
This applies to specific provinces, aka with reconquest yes, but I wanted to assume all provinces. Nationalism technically also lets you have a 50% AE discount on top of that, but only works on specific provinces, while Imperialism is more universal but I already had a very complicated disclaimer section with a lot of numbers so that got cut.
Saluzzo is one of my comfort tags, having done a good few normal runs and a few wacky runs with them. And honestly, once you've got the start down its a pretty chill experience. The small but okay mt the italian minors get gives you -15% ae impact if you're cc/hremperor or own rome, which if you get as curia controller is a real win more buff, paired with age ability, espionage and diplomatic, you're able to cleave through everyone around you and no one cares. Rest of the ideaset is goated too, definitely the baller tag of italy
Hey bro what about "diplomatic relations" stacking video? I'm in love with playing subject heavy games, now I'm literally into making my own comfy mini-HRE (after shadow kingdom) with Mantua (they have NI giving +1 diplo slot) and rushing influence ideas first, then mercenary then diplo, effectively having something like 12 slots (4 base + 2 strong duchies + 1 inf + 1 dip + 2 merc+dip policy + 1 NI + 1 representatives of the crown gov reform + some random events giving +1)
An interesting concept for sure, although I have to admit personally when I go for similar games I tend to do so with Japan or HRE revokes so that I am able to not worry about dip slots and instead focus on things like vassal income/forcelimit
Check the description, I have been contacted by an individual who is very good at the whole editing business. Hopefully if I get enough subs I might even be able to pay him!
Gives me the idea of fast WC with the Ottomans, since Oirat is quite harder due to the slacking change (and bc Lamda used the trade comp exploit if I recall). You could eyalet all you conquer, get manpower from sunni interaction and, diplo vassalize most muslims with the religion switch bonus and get rid of ae if needed. Only thing you won’t have is diplo points due to unjust demands. Not sure if an expert could do it faster this way than with a horde, but I’d like to see.

interesting place to ask, but country or tag color is indeed stored in the game files, you will either want to go change it in your game files for all future saves, or make your own mod that changes those colors (should be checksum compatable). Creating a separate mod for that would be your best bet.
Isn't preventing the age of reformation for a replaceable 10% reduction all game long way worse than reaping the benefits of admin efficiency from absolutism?
-150% is possible as a modifier, its just past 90% the effect is capped. Like you can mod in -9999% AE if you want, its just the effect of it is capped at -90%.
