    My '84 2 door was the same color interior and exterior with the 5 speed manual. Put 187K miles on it. GF wrecked it.
    I have roasted those '44 axes a lot. Guys would plow with my trucks, turn the wheel in deep wet snow, hammer the throttle, feel the joints banging and wonder why.

    This is some good info for me... Just got my license, planning a build on one of my father’s parts trucks, a 1969 Jeep Gladiator J3600, not necessarily for crawling, more for overlanding, and I might do 40’s.

    • @dylangreen9819
      @dylangreen9819 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      40s get pricy real quick and nor really needed for overlanding. I'd do 35s and an ls and let er eat 🤘

    • @reidthompson8979
      @reidthompson8979 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dylangreen9819 after looking at M715’s, I’ll probably go with 37’s. I think 35’s would look too small on a full-size truck, but 37’s would be perfect. And, that way, I might not have to axle rebuild right away once I get ahold of some one tons. And no way I’m gonna do an LS, my dad is a Buick guy, which is why he got into these trucks, they came with Buick 350’s. I think he would disown me if I put a Chevy motor in it 😂

      It was just a pain getting up and over obstacles without extra gearing. The auto was a easier cheaper solution. I have a manual shift controller on mine with lock up torque converter. Im happy with it so far. I got an atlas going in soon.

    Pretty sure Dana44s are only 1/2 - 3/4 ton rated axles, not 1 ton. Don't matter how much money you put in 'em. Smaller internals, smaller tubes, smaller shafts. Still a nice Cherokee, gotta love the 2 doors. Should push that rear axle back a few inches though, looks like it'd eat the front of the rear fender with any up travel.

    I have an 89 MJ with a 60/14B swap on 40's and my steering left to right is off. I'm assuming its because I have my drag link connected to the knuckle like you did and I need to relocate the mounting location closer to the pivot point of the knuckle.
