I hired someone to clean as well. Over the past number of years, I have taken it on myself. I have cleaning routines as well. I always set my timer to prevent overdoing things. I get to the finish line by being consistent. As for decluttering, getting rid of one item daily goes a long way. I find by using this method, I avoid getting overwhelmed with having to make too many decisions, and it's a great way to dip your toe in. Decluttering is an exhausting process even for healthy individuals. A big thank you for another wonderful and inspiring video! You have created such a supportive channel, Raelan! My life has changed so dramatically because of your book and videos! 🤸♀️
Hey Bobbie! I love the one item a day habit, that's amazing. And so doable. I'm so glad you're finding what I put out helpful! Thanks as always for your insightful and incredibly kind comments. You always put a smile on my face 💛
I really like your videos! I have not had me or cfs but easily get very tired. I am trying to change the way I spend my days. You give me so much inspiration!
As a former domestic goddess the mess really bothers me too even though I no longer have the energy to be so anal about it ! However, even at my very worst when I was laying on the sofa & could barely get up to go to the loo, I ALWAYS tidied the sofa area (folded blanket & puffed up the cushions) that I knew I would be going back to the next day. Even the bare minimum can give us a boost. Although I'm not 'cured' I'm a good way there & it's a joy to be able to declutter. You're right Raelan. It's therapeutic !
This is very practical thank you. I have a progressive genetic condition that got worse after covid and am struggling with my new baseline. I moved to a smaller lower lever apt and that helped but struggling with knowing limits and scheduling because I start a task and want to keep going and overdo it and am very sick 2-3 days☹️
I found it a sort of therapy, I was holding on to clothes that were no longer serving me. They didn’t fit the life I had created. I needed to make everything easier.
Awesome tips Raelan! After many years of illness I came to the same conclusions. I would add that it’s also about accepting that it’s never going to be perfect for now. As my mother said tome one day, if it’s a house, it’s not a home;)
Are you saying your Geoffrey is messy?! 😉🤣 I live with a messy man too! I'm with you on every point Raelan...I do exactly the same...I reset the rooms...Its so much quicker and easy to keep on top of things rather than let it go and then have to spend ages and lots of energy later on...plus its easier to find things etc...we all know organisation saves time and makes life easier right :) getting a cleaner was the best decision i ever made...it broke my heart that I couldn't clean my house and i clung on so long but it's so helpful...she does the physical like the floors and the bathroom once a week and I keep on top of the other stuff...I couldn't recommend this more...we budgeted hard to afford this but it is worth it! Xx

That sounds tough, Mirjana, I'm sorry to hear that you are facing this. There are some great TH-cam channels out there on this topic. One that I love is th-cam.com/users/MissSerendipity43 (Gillian Perkins)
@@RaelanAgle what tests? Do you mean that your personality is not the cause of getting sick? Could it not have been that you got the flu because of the extreme stress you lived in? That the body in my defense was totally impaired because you pressured your body and mind too much? Exercising twice a day is a strong sign of ocd. Ocd= perfectiln = chronic stress.
I have found over the past few years having less, my house feeling open and tidy has reduced so much stress.

You're so right, even just clearing the space that you spend the most time in before you go to bed can set you up for a better next day!

Excellent point, that pursuit of perfection is toxic!

Agreed 100%! Haha and hmmm yes Geoffrey might be a tad messy by nature ;) But he's been amazing at accommodating my need for orderliness ❤️

Hi ,sorry my english...🙈 I understand right, that you paid people for It to Help you when you have been on your worst?
Hi Kirsten! Yes, I did pay for someone to come a couple times a month to do cleaning and sometimes laundry as well 😊
@@RaelanAgle 👍🙌😊
But first coffee is a great channel too
What was the cause of your illness? The rooth cause
Although tests eventually revealed a few things going on in my body, the thing that triggered it was a really bad flu.
