I saw it on its opening weekend in the theatre. The only things I knew about it were Spielberg produced it and it was about ghosts. The theatre was packed and the audience was really alive, shrieking at every scare. One teenager fled the theatre during the scene where the guy looks into the mirror; you know the one I'm talking about. Watched this again last night, probably the sixth or seventh time I've seen it and still very effective at bringing the scares.

If only it had more extras! It's sad that this movie hasn't gotten the treatment it deserves! Where are the alternate/deleted scenes? If the footage still exists it would be nice to see! I've seen plenty of articles and pictures on them! I was hoping to see more documentaries as well. There's so much out there that could've been included. At least its gotten a 4K release.

The original trailer has a deleted scene where Diane looks into one of the monitors and screams "That thing is in there with my baby!" There are other scenes as well and if the footage still exists it's a shame not to include it!
I think the stumbling blocks are the dispute over who really directed it and the tragic deaths of the actresses who played the daughters. These things probably put the makers off wanting to discuss it.

My favourite thing about having bought all my favourite movies for dirt cheap on iTunes all those years ago is how they automatically upgrade to 4K and I don’t have to pay another dime!
What a special film this is and without a doubt is one of my favourites and personally I still think holds up pretty well considering the films age. I have just purchased this film on 4K and if you like poltergeist I urge you to purchase this in the new 4K transfer as the colours are rich and the sharpness is fantastic considering this film came out in 1982. I’m really happy with this upgrade.

They don’t get changed too often, but let’s face it, Spielberg is a huge name and probably has more clout than many others. Another example of films that pushed the ratings is Indiana Jones (again Spielberg). Raiders of the Lost Ark was going to get an R until they made changes to a few special effects. Temple of Doom was one of the films that led to the PG-13 rating being started. Both of those films are still PG today but there’s no way they should have that rating in my opinion, especially Temple of Doom.

As I never searched about this movie, I always thought that this movie was from Universal Studios, and by seeing this trailer here, made me believe for a moment that Warner and Universal had finally merged each other But this movie was from MGM I saw this movie only once, and that was long ago, anyways, this movie is great

But its welcomed. The music choice for this trailer is weird though. It doesn't fit at all. Should've used some of Jerry Goldsmiths music from the film. Its pure gold. Baffling choice. Oh and that cover art? Its awful. Who decides the cover art for films? They're generally really bad.

Poltergeist was a scary supernatural horror movie that a ghost is terrorizing whole house and that little girl trap in 📺 and is the same directed of The Funhouse and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
So glad this trailer music wasn’t in the film. It’s beyond awful. Jerry Goldsmiths score to the film is beautiful and adds so much depth. Brilliant horror movie with beautifully creepy music. Enjoy!
They brought back something evil after going to that other dimensión for Carol Anne. I think that part of the movie brought the curse for all the actor's of the movie.

I was 12 when this movie came out and I still don't know why my parents allowed me to watch it. It was terrifying to a 12-year old!
