    I have both. The zero turn is definitely faster. Quality of cut, I definitely get a lot more compliments on the hills cut with the Ventracs.

    I hear you on the crabbing thing. You're right about that situation. Having all the options you do is pretty cool.
    In PA, I use it to mow, snow removal, lawn areovating and overseeding, slip scoop for moving mulch and dirt, and a tough cut for big nasty shit. My Dad uses it for leave collection in fall with the vacuum system. I got a deal on everything used all at one time, so it made a lot of sense. Everyones needs and applications are different. I do have a kubota L3200 as well and even though they are roughly the same HP the uses are completely different. Two different animals that do different things for me.

    If you only cut grass then Ventrac may not be the best option for most people. I get calls all time to cut grass and I just will NOT try to compete price wise with the zero turn guys

      I owned both. Easy to match or beat the tough cut deck with a lower cut. Lower price and out maneuvers the ventrac and that’s why I switched. Plenty of videos of this thing in action and it performs as advertised even on thick brush.

    I see Ventrac like a Shopsmith. They can do many things but can’t do anything the best. Besides both being really high priced initially all attachments and parts are proprietary. A compact tractor and Altoz is a much better economic decision for most. I do think i like the Cubs with steering wheel more than the altoz though if trying to eliminate turf tear on the slopes.

    The new remote controlled mowers like the Hedge Hog might be interesting.

    • @raulhogland7309
      @raulhogland7309  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Remote control mowers are more of a novelty. The really powerful ones are out of most people price range at $100k plus. They are slow and you have to be right beside them to monitor performance and any hazards that it may encounter and be ready to shut it down asap. The Green Climber only has a cutting width of 4’. If that is what you do all day is cut impossible slopes, then it will pay for itself the first year. Get one. But if you have say 6 foot mowers that do 95% of your work and you are going 3-5 times as fast as the remote control one it doesn’t even begin to make sense. The slower it goes the longer it takes the more fuel I burn the more time I burn the more I risk damage the more I charge. So it’s a losing proposition for me right now. Until I get a huge Caltrans contract to pay for one or I see one used for $20k, not interested. Thanks for watching

      @Hillsidelanscapemanagement ปีที่แล้ว

      I own the Altoz TSX and, of you're careful, you can cut finished lawns fairly well, even with the swing blades. I wouldn't recommend it for finished lawns but I have used it at a few and it does just fine. It takes longer because you have to make wider Y turns but it won't tear up the lawn of your very careful

  • @JackMower-yu3lp
    @JackMower-yu3lp ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sorry but this Zero Turn With rotary brush blades is NOT the same as the ventrac flail deck. So are you comparing to the flail or the tough cut on your Ventrac? $24k for a zero turn with tracks only to mow grass? This machine doesn't even come close. Maybe a better video with a side by side comparison on the same slope before you sold the Ventrac.

    • @raulhogland7309
      @raulhogland7309  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dollar for dollar I prefer the Altoz. It’s faster for less. You can pick these up all day for about $19k. The tough cut deck sucks because it is very susceptible to breaking bolts from hitting rocks. So is the Altoz. But cheaper and easier to repair in the field. I prefer a flail deck but ventrac is a novice when it comes to engineering a new flail deck for the belt pto. And also plus in addition furthermore it’s TOO HEAVY for the ventrac. But I see your point. I just throw up these videos for fun. Not truly a comparison channel. I buy everything that interests me and try it. The ventrac is nice for rolling hills but slides sideways. The flail mower is great for rocks but to heavy for the ventrac to lift and reverse up the hill.

      I think the most versatile machines by far are bobcats. Not the ventrac. For attachment availability and prices hands down. The ventrac couldn’t scrape anything but very light weeds on the road. Could not push dirt or lift and move like a subcompact tractor or a bobcat. All it really can do well is mow on hills. Look at all the videos. How many are construction? How many are mowing? Bradley is the only guy o know that built an entire business on around it.
