Altox TRX 766i steep hillside
มุมมอง 48510 หลายเดือนก่อน
Terraced hillside with mustard weeds. Dense vegetation and hard to see ground. I end up mowing in all directions. Side ways when I have a little better visibility. 4 acres. 4 hours. $3500. I did this same property last year with m ventrac and flail mower. Definitely faster with the Altoz. More comfortable too.

Tackling thick tall brush on steep hillside. Four acres of this stuff paid $3200. Took about 2:45. Hours. Soft dirt under minded by gophers and squirrels. Face covering is a must. I attached a 40 pound dumbbell to the front to help keep the front wheels down when climbing these steep hills. Averaged 30-32 degrees. On the thinner dry grass I was able to go sideways on this terraced landscape. Ve...

Mowing crazy hills with Altoz TRX766i

Putting the TRX766i through its paces. Steep hills, hidden stumps and tall grass. Powers through comfortably and sails around like a scooter! I mowed this with my ventrac las year. This was definitely faster and I was able to hit more slopes and easier. Yes , I know zero turns are made for that. But when it is hot and you have more jobs to do, speed is of the essence! The rotor on the flail mowers spin at 2000rpms. So when it encounters a wire rope or hose it sucks it in really fast. The end can whip me in the face or break the glass. The glass was $1300.

      The front duals looked skinny compared to your original rims with the 26x12x12s , maybe just the narrower rims ballooning them more making them look narrower. If I end up buying one I always like to put radial tires on everything I own, I am thinking those rear tires are the same sizes as the 1025R uses, and I could run Carlisle versa turf radials like I am running on my X758. I am wanting to possibly replace my X758 and cab 3046R with one of these setup with a flail . Turning counter to the 1585’s tire rotation , would that not discharge forward ? Or out the front? Main concern is there is not any shielding under the 1585s and a lot of critical components routed up under there. Ie. AC refrigerant lines, there is video of a guy with a 1585 that busted that line on something. Plus the radiators and everything in the back with clipping shooting under the machine would likely plug up a lot faster, saw video of a 1585 owner with a rear discharge Deere mower deck and the underside of his machine was severely caked in grass clippings. Plus that windshield thing concerns me.

    • @raulhogland7309
      @raulhogland7309 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So yes they are narrower. I have to order custom wheel spacers to get the stock wheel to fit and then add the narrower one. Truth is I ordered two narrower ones because that was the only way they would fit. Then I remembered I could order custom wheel spacers. The bottom was open and I had a branch disconnect the ac wire under there! That’s when I made a skid plate out of an aluminum street sign ! The windshield did get broken. Flail rotors spun at 2000 rpms. So they grab wire, rope, hoses and whatever and wind it up so fast the last six feet come flying at you so fast. The windshield was broken by a steel cable. $1300 for the replacement. I installed it myself.

    Love the 1585 combination with the flail. Did you break a windshield? I see you added that mesh guard since you first showed this machine. • @raulhogland7309
      @raulhogland7309 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on your needs of course , my limited experience with all these machines has been that if I had to pick one machine, it would be a bobcat skid steer. They are the true Swiss Army knives of the tractors. Not the ventrac. Blue cord shows the Ventracs doing many things but really nothing extraordinary besides mowing hills. And that’s what you need and you don’t mind tearing up the turf then the Altoz is way cheaper. But it will tear up the ground. I think the ventrac is like a buffet restaurant Everything there is passable. But you don’t go there for the pizza or chicken or steaks or the ice cream. Here in the San Diego area you can buy a really good used bobcat for under $20k! Now that’s a real earth moving tractor! Attachments are endless and everyone makes them! Again depending on your needs. Thanks for watching!

      Sure thing! Just go to Amazon and put in your tire size / atv or utv. They should have something that fits. Main requirement is the r size. Then you can go taller if you have room around the wheel well. Check for frame clearance to. If go too big they will rub. But you may be able to go wider and taller. I had 9” wide tires on my Polaris rzr and I swapped them out for 12” wide tires. Same rim. Many tread patterns to chose from on Amazon. Also get as many plies as you can. Some have a weight rating of only a couple hundred pounds. I blew one up. Had to get the ones rated for 500 pounds on the rear. Thanks for watching.

    The new remote controlled mowers like the Hedge Hog might be interesting.

    • @raulhogland7309
      @raulhogland7309 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Remote control mowers are more of a novelty. The really powerful ones are out of most people price range at $100k plus. They are slow and you have to be right beside them to monitor performance and any hazards that it may encounter and be ready to shut it down asap. The Green Climber only has a cutting width of 4’. If that is what you do all day is cut impossible slopes, then it will pay for itself the first year. Get one. But if you have say 6 foot mowers that do 95% of your work and you are going 3-5 times as fast as the remote control one it doesn’t even begin to make sense. The slower it goes the longer it takes the more fuel I burn the more time I burn the more I risk damage the more I charge. So it’s a losing proposition for me right now. Until I get a huge Caltrans contract to pay for one or I see one used for $20k, not interested. Thanks for watching
