Not a drop of Scot's blood, but childhood upstate NY (USA) were Scots' Games every summer: pipes, drums, caber toss, sword dance; I still have a souvenir skean dhu (dagger in the stocking) on my desk to open letters. My Spanish ballerina Mama studied the traditional dances carefully, to choreograph & perform a sword dance for "Brigadoon," in summer-stock theater nearby. A northern Spanish traditional dance, the jota, is performed to a smaller bagpipe & drum. Something about green, mountainous regions. Decades later, my U.S. Navy antisubmarine squadron patrolled with RAF out of Kinloss. After flights, we sampled the single malts & ales out in the village, where the pubs mixed pipes music with the pop stuff. Pipes & drums are eternal, speak of courage & enduring. Many thanks for this presentation.

My grandmother passed away last week at 93 years old. Today we had a celebration of life for her, and to honor her Scottish heritage, my cousin knew someone who could play the bagpipes. The moment we all turned to the front entrance of the room, listened to the music and stood in silence as we watched, was the moment it completely hit me. My sweet, beautiful, hilarious, resilient, loving “Gam” had been completely taken from me now. I silently cried among everyone else, wiped my tears, and honored her with the best thing I could think of: putting a smile on my face. She would give the world to see her family smile, and so would I. I smiled while remembering all of those nights at her house, the dominos, puzzles, hershey’s milk chocolate nuggets with toffee that she had a seemingly endless supply of, trips to the playground, sitting under the hot sun at my softball games, sleeping over, the vanilla ice cream sundaes with the chocolate magic shell, and the laughter I shared and warmth that filled my heart whenever I was with her. Rest in peace Gam, I hope you are dancing with Granddaddy on the wings of forever. You can rest now.

My neighbors put party music in their back yard loud and get drunk and sing 3 or 4 nights a week every week from about 9 pm - 4 am , so I put this hour of bagpiping on a big speaker as loud as it can be and it kills their party almost instantly , I left it on the whole 1hr and 8 minutes , so they learn a lesson
Thank you for this party pooping music , it's fantastic 😂😂

I also do the same every December when my neighbors spend nights playing drums and chanting all night long when they sacrifice animals and throw them inside bags all over the city streets - smells horrible the whole month long.
The thing is I enjoy music including bagpipes and many others. I play these and canaries singing for the whole month of December and the neighbors party blows up when the witch doctors dressed in all white freak out and refuse to do the killing ceremonies. I thank the person that gave me info to blow up these animal killing ceremonies. It is a big responsibility. Now every December the animals depend on me to not be killed and thrown in paper bags all over the city streets and train tracks. This is in the US - believe it or not. My city lost US Supreme Court case to stop these killings (they said it was freedom of religion). So as a US Citizen, I have to fight to stop the senseless slaughter and smell of death in our streets every December during the holidays.

There is something about the pipes that calls to the blood of a Celt. I've never understood it. By the way, my last name is Young (Irish) and my Mother's maiden name is McAllister (Scot). When I was in basic training and AIT at Fort Knox in 1983, we heard a Canadian troop was going to be staying up the hill for a few days. One morning, about 4:30, all of our platoons were getting up to get ready to march to chow. The fog was heavy outside and you could barely see the lights on the field. Suddenly, a lone bagpipe started up in the fog, immediately followed by a large number of others. We could all hear them moving through the fog down the hill towards the chowhall. At the bottom, they gave a last plaintive note and stopped. From every direction through the fog, you could hear hundreds of soldiers clapping for the music. Great moment!

Love the Bagpipes and Drumming. I heard that I am related to the MacDonald Clan of Scotland on my mothers side. My Grandmother's Mother or I guess that would be my Great Grandmother's maiden name was MacDonald. My Grandmother (Nana) was born in Sunderland, Rest In Peace as well as my Mom was born in Paisley Scotland in 1937. I miss my mom that passed away in 1984. My Uncle Walter Connolly that lived in Scotland at that time in the early 70's mailed out a cassette tape with news in the UK on one side and the other side was Scottish/Irish music which I loved! I remember hearing music from one musician recording on the cassette tape was Glen Daly. My favorite song was Glasgow Town and you can hear that song on TH-cam. As a kid sometimes danced to the Scottish Reels. I am Celtic at Heart! 95% English/Irish as well as Scottish Roots. My Grandmother (Nana) Visited the site of the MacDonald Massacre Of Glencoe in the early 70's and visited her sisters that have been separated since the break of war in 1939 in England. In 1967 got reunited again! :-) My Grandmother (Nana) came to America in 1939 with three daughters and the story of that is interesting! :-)

Tai Man Chan absolutely understand the necessity to help people understand your viewpoint on copyright material. I also understand your need to get these tracks out there for all to hear, and very much appreciate. In understanding the composition here, you have done 'no wrong.'
There are many an artist who state infringement when you place their material on platforms such as this. But, while you are clearly exhibiting appreciation outside the insult of monetary value, then here, your reference is more than welcome, and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Most artists, will welcome your acknowledgement and here, clearly your listener to. Only within the realms of 'money' are the tunes and tonal poetry here, lost. Most artists though, are in favor of the poetry, not the money. Thank you. Stay...............GOOD! xxx

I played them in High School and he always wondered why I had this love for bagpipes. I would march in the forest of Colorado playing and even marched on the football field that I played on. I was always told I was of German and French descent but clearly I died on a battlefield in Scotland at some point, There is great mystery surrounding this music to this day.

My mom also had CDS with bagpipe music and drumming. We had a cassette player, and a CD player where we would play the cassettes and CDS from. This takes me back to when I was listening to bagpipe and drumming music like this from a CD player or a cassette player. I may be 6 years too late but I like this kind of bagpipe music. This is not only true and lovely for this culture, it is unfortunate for me as I play for a beyond obnoxious neighbor! Now before everyone is frustrated I play this full blast in me apartment to get back at me neighbor. They have ignored several requests to stop their partying during COVID and now all summer long she has utterly hurt me sleep patterns by too many sleepless nights for her dispirited behavior. I am a kind individual whom reasons things out. Me landlord claims he is giving her notices upon me complaints. So, here I stand. I live this music speaks to me very well....however, me neighbor listens to jungle jive. This has worked wonders upon me getting back at her. I am a week into it, blasting full range and I not have any intentions to quit until she cools it and learns a lesson with her horrible attitude toward other tenants who are paying a very hefty fee to live in the city. Thank you for reading me vent! BLESSINGS -from a mountain land.

my neighbors up to 2..3 kilometers away (due to 15'' speaker) are fully enjoying "Track 11 - 37:07 - Piobaireachd" pretty often, especially at nights

I'm South African born, but of Scots ancestry and I'm pretty sure my love of pipes is in my blood. I get instant goosebumps and tears well up for reasons I cannot explain when I hear it. Thank you for this. My cats do not approve apparently, they're horrified by my music choice today, but they can go get fooked 😂 This is magnificent ❤️

I ADORE bagpipes ! Have all of MY life . Support their music ; recordings or live ; for ceremony ; or fete ; or war when time fits ; this is declaritive and must be passed on. It's been a sound of wills since their inception to ears and hearts a like.
