I made this tonight and I have to say wow! Amazing recipe & simple to make. On my 2nd time I will add a whole red pepper & whole green pepper with 2 tomatoes as I really enjoyed the flavour. 10/10
As a "curry chef" for nearly 40 years, and Latif will tell you, I call this one of the few "crossover" dishes. In other words, I've cooked this at home, to pretty much this recipe, and commercially cooked 💯 portions, but added base gravy, yet the results are extremely similar. Very few curry dishes are so alike when cooked different ways. Great inspiration for all, including the other "TH-cam chefs". One benefit for me after all these years of curry cooking is that I am increasingly cooking more on the bone dishes and thighs, that you would have just used breast before. Keep up the good work bro. *Latif - don't you normally add a little garam masala near the end of this dish? Edited: Yes you do! Missed it until cooked it last night. That is the exact flavour of a perfect Jalfrezi, I used mix of bone -in thighs and breast in large chunks. 10/10.
@@HyeonsikLi Out of curiosity - where do you live that chicken thighs are rarely available? And I agree with your breast assessment - I simply don't use for "stewish" dishes
@@RomaInvicta202 i live in Germany. 90% of chicken meet is breast id say. Some shops also sell chicken legs but never boneless chicken thigh. You have to debone it yourself or use it with bone which i mostly do.
Made this tonight for the family. My children's feedback (and I quote) "the best curry you've ever made". The only change I made was only adding one teaspoon of (mild) chilli powder. Absolutely gorgeous dish. Thank you
Thanks for your comment Bruce, I made this for the family tonight and added one teaspoon per your advice….best curry I’ve ever made and/or eaten. Perfect spice level.
I've made a few of your home curry recipes now with very good results but this 1 was to die for and by far my favorite up to now , thank you for providing us with the knowledge to be able to cook these recipes.
Latif, you have inspired me ! Cooked this recipe yesterday, using chicken thigh meat and mail order spices that arrived over the past few days (Kashmiri Chilli powder, Tej Patta, dried Fenegreek leaves, cardamom pods, Cassia bark, pure butter Ghee, etc), these spices make such a difference. Anyway, followed every step of your recipe, and the result was sublime … It’s been a revelation watching you cook, and it’s transforming how I cook. Thank you so so much …
Very nice jalfrazi looks delicious, try adding a 2tsp malt vinegar to it when you add the spices ,you won't be able to smell the vinegar but the taste it gives it something unique give it a try and let me know how it tastes like.
This is one of my favourites. I like your lid, chef. My mum bought me a set of copper bottom saucepans at a closing down sale in 1984 (for "when you get married'). I still have them today. My wife uses them to cook for the grandkids.
That looks absolutely delicious sir, my mouth is watering. I think I will have to make it for my dinner tonight. Thank you for the recipe and the time and effort you put into making your fantastic videos.
Beautiful, I can’t wait to prepare this for some people who have never had Indian/ Pakistani cuisine. I’m a big fan of the cuisine and your recipes/style. You rock chef! Carry on!
Great video as always Latif. I'll be making this one very soon. What size pan do you recommend to cook in? As going to buy aluminium pan for my curry cooking. Thanks again.
my local take away will be down buisness now that you have posted this my favourite take out. thanks so much Latif, these recipe secrets are really appreciated
I have just made this tonight for myself and the other half, and it is by far one of the best Curry's I've made at home now. Flipping gorgeous!! Thank you very much! It's up there with when I make Lamb Nahari. Do you have a version of lamb Nihari at all?? I'd be interested to see your version.
Amazing, I cooked it today, it's ace, to give it a easy base gravy effect, when it was cooking, before adding the chicken, I took around half of the sauce, blended it and put it back in, really nice
your recipes are always awaited for as they are fabulous and easy. Is there anywhere this recipe (ingredients and method) can be found/ Thks and keep the good work up
Really enjoying your "One Pot" series Latif - don't get me wrong, base gravy BIR is fantastic, but it requires a level of organisation that I simply don't have most weeks, so your "One Pot" series is greatly appreciated! Oh, and my kids take your tandoori chicken to school most days in a wrap - we tried your recipe in the air fryer and now the kids marinate and cook it themselves (aged 15 and 13). Will definitely pay your restaurant a visit the next time I get up your way!
Hi Latife….ive made this 3x now and it’s amazing. However it still comes out very hot…..I even swapped the hot chilli for regular chilli. Any thoughts? Thx Chas
Just tried this dish! I have been trying to make an authentic curry for years! Never quite got there, BUT now it’s amazing ! So thank you for the video honestly it’s as near as to a take away you will EVER get 😊😊
Fantastic I hope you never stop making videos, I have learned so much and have made a few of your recipes and with such clear instruction I managed to make them I am very grateful to you I will try this recipe this weekend
Love it chef 😛🥰👍‼️ This is one of my all time favourites, The Chandni at Ash, in Hampshire really excelled at Jalfrezi, but I’ve been in Australia for over 20 years now 😢. Great video (as always!), I’ll be giving this a go for sure 😛👍.
I've cooked a few curries this year and every one of Latif's has been superb. This one though tops the lot. An absolutely firdt class and delicious curry. And it's hot. My nose won't stop running lol. Thanks for sharing these amazing recipes.
Amazing Chef, Thankyou, Im in Australia, originally from the UK, I really miss the BIR curry, I love your channel and have been following your recipes for some time, its been over 10 yrs since I was in the UK and will surely be hunting down your restaurant on my next visit. Thank you Chef for your amazing videos and recipes.
Latif another simply delicious curry, I can’t beat your chicken saag though! The lentil and veggie dhal is great for work lunches instead of soup, just take a few chapatis to dip in and the whole office is jealous😊 Do you traditionally cook with rabbit? Would love to see a recipe for that
Latif the puree of tomato made with a blender is a touch, thats all i do now, no tinned tomato, but what i do is blend the onion down to a mush, caramelise that onion, in with everything else, and the consistency of the sauce is beautiful, im also boil my hard full spices, like you showed us for base gravy, and add that, i love the smell of garam masala boiling away, the smell is pure aromatherapy, keep up the good work brother
Hey Latif, great video as always! Probably showing my ignorance here, but what is it that you say as you're about to put stuff in the pan? Sounds like "best of luck" but I'm guessing it's not 😆
Another absolute belter! Here's a suggestion for you though. It would be really useful if you could write these up with ingredients and brief instructions, and make them available for download. I don't expect you to do this "for free", so perhaps you could set yourself up on Patreon, and make these available for people who support you on Patreon.
i think it great not using base gravy ive never seen the point for home cooking ive also, just watched the king prawn garlic chilli dish and im going to do both, i sometimes cook the tomato's hole and remove the skin then blitz the lot for a smoother sauce, nice 1 keep them going
Fantastic mate top class. I like the one pot recipes as I don't always have room in my freezer to keep base gravies. A book would be outstanding too, maybe two books, one on restaurant style and another for one pot I'm sure they would sell. Thanks for the channel.
Another great "One Pot" video (really enjoying this series!), shall try this one out at the weekend! Tried your recent One Pot Naga recipe over the weekend and loved it!
Hi Latif - I am really enjoying watching your videos and learning lots. BUT - I would like to know where I can buy some good pans like the ones you use please. Phil
Which gee did you use in this process what brand plz..i never used gee always oil but lately my son is totally frantic about restaurants currys & most of them use gee. So totally confused which to buy to make curry for him. Plz reply back
My guy made my mouth 💦 Boss mode…….full ratings Thankyou for sharing the love as I know a lot of people would not. my friend showed me this channel after I asked him how he and his family cook traditional dishes and Im happy he did. All the best to you and your family ❤
Great that you sample what you've made otherwise you would feel starving hungry all day making all that fabulous food. One thing I don't understand is how you avoid the camera lens fogging over when closing in on all that rising steam? Maybe the camera is zooming in from a distance back. Clever stuff.
Love your videos Latifs, watch them again and again they taste fantastic my favourite at the mo are this one and the Chicken Tika Bhuna. My grandkids love it thank you.
Lovely video, I'm feeling inspired, thanks :) .. By the way 2 tsp salt seems like quite a lot but I guess for restaurant cooking you'd typically have a bit more than when cooking at home? Anyway, I always enjoy your cooking demos, keep up the good work!
Hi Thank you for your videos im enjoying trying to reproduce them but i dont think im quite there yet! I suspect it might be my spices as i have had them a fair while, could you advise on a good quality ready made curry powder as I have a use a basic supermarket own brand one which I think might be letting the recipe down Thanks again im really liking the one pot series
Just cooked this an hour ago and must say! Best Indian meal I have ever eaten in my life! Hands down! Thankyou
Yet another banger my brother. I’ve saved all of your one pot recipes and will be working my way through them.
My mouth's watering

7:38 👍
On the bone is always better. Same goes for Lamb.
Breast needs to be added at the end I guess. Else it gets dry very quickly. I prefer thigh but it is very rarely available here.

Latif I have made this tonight and am stunned. This is hands down the best curry I’ve ever tasted. Thank you.
Love the improved lighting in the restaurant kitchen, Latif! It really makes the food pop.
Fabulous Latif. On my weekend cooking list! Thanks!👍
Thank Latif one pot saag, delicious, family loved it, really enjoying these one pot wonders.

I love your “One Pot” series Latif. 👍 with fantastic results 😃
This guy is the goat when it comes to cooking curries 🙌🏽
Just made it for lunch can’t wait to try it! Every curry I’ve made of yours has been amazing!
Very nice jalfrazi looks delicious, try adding a 2tsp malt vinegar to it when you add the spices ,you won't be able to smell the vinegar but the taste it gives it something unique give it a try and let me know how it tastes like.
That’s a hidden secret !!!
This looks incredible I’ve ran out of base and got no freezer space so these one pot dishes are a life saver! Thank you so much
Base gravies are good if you want to mimic restaurent style cooking.
But these one pot recipes replicate what is done back home!
This is one of my favourites. I like your lid, chef. My mum bought me a set of copper bottom saucepans at a closing down sale in 1984 (for "when you get married'). I still have them today. My wife uses them to cook for the grandkids.
