- Stellar Blade is an Action RPG game releasing some time in 2024 and it's easily become one of the most talked about games of the year... but is it for the right reasons? Concerns over character designs and sexualization have dominated every discussion about this game, but what do you think?

If the gameplay is good i could definitely forget about her ass shaking and shit lol. Sometimes anime have characters that fight completely naked but if the fight is actually good i completely forget they're naked lol.
Bayonetta was sexy...This game is for those that WANT this type of character in a game...and I for one, want this character 😍

The reason there's so much "discussion" around the character's design is because one of two scenarios happen:
1. Some hornball talks about how sexy Eve is and then a bunch of people pile in either agreeing or deriding the poster for their tastes.
2. Someone posts a comment about the gameplay and then a bunch of people pile in saying the poster is really only just interested in the sexy.
Both on Reddit and on Twitter I've made many posts discussing Stellar Blade's gameplay but the people that want the game to fail force the conversation in the direction of sexy so that they can be proven right about the game being nothing but sexy. Its a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Feedback from people who did play the demo was generally very positive, though it did have a few rough edges. The director is a big fan of God of War and Sekiro and that shows in the game with very satisfying parries and gameplay that promotes back and forth with your opponents instead of PlatinumGames-style launching and beating on a helpless target. The game is also fairly difficult on Normal difficulty and will require a good amount of engagement from the player. Not quite at the level of soulslike but I saw plenty of people get their ass beat by regular monster while playing the demo. Blindly mashing buttons only works against the most basic of trash mobs.
If you want the conversation around this game to shift away from fanservice, then take the conversation in that direction instead of feeding that topic even more.

And yes the only thing that can make me want the game even more is if I could play actually butt naked. It's not to far. It's a game intended for adults. Again it's for adults.
The character model gets all of the discussion, but that is NOT the only reason people are excited for this game. The gameplay looks fun and there’s plenty of people like myself who are looking forward to the combat. I’ve never gotten a game just because of attractive female characters. That’s only icing on the cake for this game. It’s everything else that truly sells the game and will keep people actually playing it.
Wrote too much here but I very much agree about it getting hype for the wrong reason. I was here from the first trailer and liked everything about it so thats just me wanting to gatekeep from the annoying people swarming the game now
To me it looks on par with GOWR tbh with the teleport abilities granting more movement and monster design.Also i never heard any music that made me stop and listen in GOWR the way stellar blade did. We also can SWORD SURF so thats awesome
As for everyone focusing on her design that shouldn't detract from the game. After all fandoms get crazy and sexualize things all the time and this is from the people who made nikke. THAT game is OD i a'int playing that one lol
Now that skin is Od lol but its optional so she will be sexual just less. I won't be using that skin so im not bothered by someone walking in.But her screaming is OD she just does the same one too many times. Overall i think your right but just focusing on the sexual part alot like most people but its hard to ignore so i understand. But im ready to play day one.

If they can pull of another Nier Automata I will be pleasantly surprise but Yoko Taro is a different beast and Korean games tend to make female characters super sexual so I dont think this is a bait and switch situation. I hope the game is good but I wont be grabbing it day one in case it turns out to be shit lol

Lies of P sort of had that look to me, very derivative of things that came before it(bloodborne specifically) but I was pleasantly surprised when I played it. It's kinda how I feel about this game. I agree that the characters and the dialogue seem very boring. I can't imagine I give a shit about any of the people we've seen so far by the end of it.
The gameplay is going to have to carry hard but maybe it's one of those things where it plays better than it looks.
Actually, that's a good point about Lies of P. I remember thinking that game looked pretty meh but then the demo came out and it was pretty good. Hopefully Stellar Blade is like that too

I'm not too locked into the game. I saw gameplay and was like, "This is one of those games I'll pick later " not a day one purchase.
The sexualization may be a bit OD but with Nier and Nikke, people genuinely fuck with it because it ends up being critically acclaimed for reasons other than the fan service. Nikke would’ve been another failed horny gacha and Nier would’ve never sold 7.5 milly if their gameplay wasn’t engaging, their story’s was boring, and soundtracks were audio NyQuil. It’s just wayyy too early to make assumptions, especially about a beta that wasn’t even supposed to drop yet.
IMO: I think SONY dropped Stellar Blade intentionally from all the trash movies to bring attention to the game, TBH. Also, you know the body is based on a REAL WOMAN: Shin-Jae-Eun?
Let's not pretend Nikke isn't popular because of the sexualization, that's exactly why it's popular. Hell you could say that for a lot of Gacha games, they all bank on having attractive characters that you wanna spend money on, and the majority of them have terrible or boring gameplay and passable sfories.
@@neidhardt8093No doubt sexualization is part of what makes Nikke popular, but there are far more sexier gachas than Nikke, such as Azur Lane and Browndust 2, that haven't achieved the same level of success. That's because Nikke has other strong suits such as a good story, interesting characters, great music, and unique gameplay for the gacha space. It is still rooted in sexy but it is very competent in other areas as well.

I mean tbf one thing like this that comes to mind is Xenoblade you can put all your characters in swimsuits and that gives you high evasion if I remember correctly, this OPTIONAL outfit for eve basically makes the game harder and plus I play Bayonetta this outfit is tame compared to what she be doing in cutscenes and to enemies in game
Yeah you’re going a bit too hard for an optional skin I’m ngl. Even then there are clothing options in the game itself you can obtain that aren’t as crazy as this one lmao. Though I’m not gonna pretend that I don’t see where people are coming from with it. Idk, I’m hyped for sure for this game based on the story bits in the trailers for sure (biblical allusions get me sooo invested) and some of the gameplay looks pretty ok with me.
The way I see it, we need to make a statement with this game.
This game has been receiving knockback by woke weirdos, people are loving this game because it does what we want in videogames, and Kim Hung Tae has done an amazing job with this game, I know I should wait for the game to come out first but as a gaming community we need to make this game win game of the year at the game awards.
Doing this will let the developers know what we want in videogames, it will encourage Shift Up to make more sick games like Stellar Blade, we have the ability to rub it in the face of the woke weidos that has something negative to say about this game plus since these developers love to copy other games why not make them copy a good game.
We come together when it come to negativity so why not come together for something positive and Shift Up deserves all the accolades so again, we need to make Stellar Blade win GAME OF THE YEAR so we can make a statement to other developers.

To me gameplay is the no1 most important thing than the way a character looks but I still support having good looking female characters in games.

The whole thing about your parents walking in while you're playing the game and not knowing what to say to your mom. The game is rated (M) for mature and if their child is playing the game that's the parents fault. I actually played the demo of the game. The game is very fun and the combat pretty very deep. And I think it's a win in the gaming community when in the past 5 years or more all female characters on console gaming have been ugly. MJ in Spider-Man 2, the girl in for spoken, tomb raider, horizon forbidden West, ext. At this point it's like damn can we get one for the boys?

Plenty of normal good looking skins like the jeans and jacket one. Most importantly, the gameplay itself looks awesome to me and that’s what’s going to make or break the game. It comes out on my birthday and I’m excited for it.

Bro if you feel so distracted by Eve's beauty, this game will have 30+ costumes, which some of them are "normal". I think there's a lot of styles that suits everyone's taste. Imho, the fact that there's a lot of hype about Eve's attractiveness is because you can check most of the recent western's AAA games women are agly asf. But now that people ACTUALLY was able to play the demo I heard a lot of good things about the gameplay and mechanics

Honestly I think the point of the game is the same as Nikke (Thier mobile gacha game) get people to play the game cause of the sexualized characters but hook them in with the gameplay and story. Also the skin you are critiquing is an OPTIONAL skin, there are other outfits (30+ according to the devs) that are more tame and consertive or on the same level of coomer bait and apparently (not 100% confirmed but some screenshots form the demo says it) if you are wearing that butt naked skin you can't have your shield on so it adds an extra level of difficulty just for being horny. As for me this game is fine how it is, its clearly stated to be an "Adult" game not meant for teenagers or younger people who play in the living room where thier parents are most likely to barge in.
It's definitely OD but I really love it. Afaik there's no harm in having characters look like this. More power to them.

Seems like a generic action game carried by sexy character designs, but hopefully I'm wrong and there's more to the game than that. Sucks that this game is getting the wrong kind of attention from those cornballs though.
When this game gets a discount and its $20. This might be a lil calm fun game to play.
