I learned from a historic cooking show, that they used garlic to keep insects away. Eventually they thought if it works on the little blood suckers it could work the big blood suckers.
Being a Filipina, I have personally experienced the "Death by Slippers,"... I came home late one evening, low and behold my momma was waiting up and boy did I get the spanking of my life with her slippers....it's real...
@@bokyotan2077 i have a indian dad whenever he comes home from abrod i have to deal with a indian belt along with tabo and hanger never experience walis
Interesting video, living in the Philippines. These urban legends has become a day to day basis told by the older folks to their children and grandchildren who years later told their own children and grandchildren keeping the legends alive. I think you should do part 2 of Philippines urban legends there much more to discover.
I think it's not the Tikbalang that smokes a cigar. Kaprés are the ones who smokes cigars. They're tree giants somewhat similar to Sasquatches in appearance.
Quick story about the Tikbalang base on experience: First of all I l'm skeptical person I don't believe in those urban legends and those scary stories that elders told me when I was a kid so A few years ago relatives visited our house and my cousin who was 5 or 6 years old at that time I took her to our backyard (our backyard was full of trees) I took her there to show her our ducks, so I brought her there and out of nowhere my cousin said "Kuya may horse nandoon sa may puno nakatayo" which translates to "There's a horse right there by the tree and its standing" I'm like what are you talking about there's no horse here, she agaid said "Nandoon sya oh nakatayo nakangiti nga sa akin" which translates to "Its right there standing and smiling at me". I immediately brought her back to the house. I really don't believe in those things but that encounter with my little cousin really gave me the creeps
Kapre is the creature with glowing red eyes and smokes cigar We turn our clothes inside out when going to the woods so we dont encounter a Tikbalang This is still an awesome depiction from a non Pinoy POV good job!👍
The story I was told about the white lady is she died due to sexual abuse on her wedding day and she haunted the people who did that to her and haunts the belete drive
I'm black and my husband is Filipino and black 🖤 Just the other day my mother in law was just telling me a bunch of urban legends from the Philippines and it was so awesome and fascinating 👍🏿🙌🏿 sometimes I get stuck watching Filipino soaps with her and I wish I could understand so bad cuz they look super good lol She also told me about how u can't sing Frank Sinatra "my way" for karaoke cuz it makes people go nuts and kill each other 😮 so its banned in alotta places. That's so interesting to me. I love hearing about mystical things ❤
I actually beleived in "Death by Slippers" when I was in grade school. Idk but during that time, even medias were telling people about this cult roaming around at night. My father usually advise us, like before sleeping, to get our slippers and bring it inside our house. And then we usually slept early too because of that.
As you see theres a lot of us here in the comment section for one reason,, its that we filinos are so proud of our culture, and yes, that includes our urban legends 😅😂😂🎉🎉
the death by slippers is real😭 I have experienced it when I was visiting family, there was a cult going around so my family started to put our slippers inside for the next 5 months.
My Ex-wife was born in the Philippines… pretty sure they lost a cryptid when her parents adopted her and brought her to Alabama bc she was cute…. But yeah she turns straight into that female gremlin from gremlins 2
How funny would it be if someone came up with a fake urban legend about a grim reaper like entity that appears in the local woods and dressed up a a grim reaper once a week to scare people?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA THE “ DEATH OF SLIPPERS “ btw i think am going to died from this um the death of slippers my mom just doesn’t even care anymore so much about our shoes outside she just left them outside 6:13
I Live For Philippines And I Was Born July 3, 2009 And I was Inside My Mom Stomach... But I Have No Idea What Creatures And Monster And I was Live with "Calinan Vill. RIVERSIDE" In Davao city Buttttt The Monsters isn't Real in Philippines But They Killed Creatures Cause "Kill" Over Them
The number of folk lore demons who hated garlic is really high. I guess being a garlic farmer brings in those big bucks.
I learned from a historic cooking show, that they used garlic to keep insects away. Eventually they thought if it works on the little blood suckers it could work the big blood suckers.

Hating garlic sounds like my grandparents, if they were cryptids just leave some tyme or Lawrys outside, theyre terrified of seasonings.
I also remember one urban legend I forgot what they called them but they took dead bodies and replaced them with woods..
Now I'm scared because I'm from the Philippines
As strong as I am in all sorts of ways, I don't think I'll visit the Philippines
As you see theres a lot of us here in the comment section for one reason,, its that we filinos are so proud of our culture, and yes, that includes our urban legends 😅😂😂🎉🎉
