Elegant! I have a mini waving wand that actually produces a very similar look and it only just occured to me that it's basically finger waves, haha.
I'm definitely trying this! And I hope for NY 2020 next year everyone goes full on fingerwaves and 20's style. I'll better start practicing this year ;)
Also hii Lucy, what brands/ types of heatprotecting spray do you use? Or what kind of product should I look out for? I can't find any in the store and I bought one online but it turns out to be an oil to help straighten your hair when you style it. (I was hoping to curl it) Much love from your neighbour in Belgium x
Theres a super easy way to do them by wrapping your hair around fabric and they come out very prominent. I've done it a few times and the result is always great! Theres a video on TH-cam where I got the technique. 'No heat waves bandana wraps' I think the videos called and it's by princess hairstyles. Hers come out a lot looser but in real life when I've tried it tighter it makes the most incredible finger waves!

I found a set of water wave combs in an antique store. They were from back in the 20s. You were supposed to put them in when your hair was damp and then let it dry with the combs in. You alternated the direction of the waves to get the Marcel wave effect. Then when you removed the combs, when your hair was dry the waves would stay in place. You might be able to find some online like eBay or something.

Are you using 1 inch clip barrel from T3?
the better way of creating finger wayves is useing a flat iron. it isnt easier. thats for sure. and its hard to explain. but as a hairdressing student whos teacher forced finger waves on us using both the hair dryer methode and the flat iron i can tell you its much easier to "fake" it using a flat iron.
you have to spread the hair, flaten it towards the way you want the wave to start along with giving it a gentle curve. it gives a much more autentic look :)
Possibly stupid question: Why not use a triple barrel waver? I have 2 of them, one is for small waves, the other is about the size of your curling iron. I'm sure there's a reason, but it gives the same effect. :)
