If anyone is worried about putting too much water in their hair and relaxing their hair too much, I would really recommend spraying your brush instead of directly on your hair! It makes the water a lot easier to control :)

After rollers your hair looked like authentic 50-s "pin-up", after curling iron,- like 70-s office style for long hair.

Back in the 60's, girls collected cans from food (cleaned, and both ends removed), of different sizes, and used them and hair clips as rollers for their hair. They were great for long hair, and made lovely, soft curls - and lots of fullness,

I’m going to have to try that water trick. My curls always came out too tight so I just sorta gave up. This gives me hope!

I loved the little tight curls when you first took the curlers out. So cute.

At least 2 styles for one curl set. Side parting and a really cute 30s bob for day 1. Center part with arranged curls for day 2. As the curls loosen, you move into more recent decades.

There are curling patterns that were made to recreate the look of celebrities, I know for sure there is a Lauren Bacall one. Of course they are for very specific cuts but if could be fun to find out if they actually make any difference at all.
So nice you remembered "my" water trick, such a life saver!!!

Yes! I've seen a few of them - I actually tried one (Jane Russell) on my sister. It really worked - even though her haircut wasn't exactly the same and we used rollers instead of pincurling. It really helps to know how to direct & position the rollers. Just do a google image search on curling patterns and there's quite a lot on pinterest & glamourdaze

Very pretty. I thought your long hair curls looked good. Highly recommend Lisa Freemont Street on TH-cam...she currently has some long hair with bangs curled styles and she does a great job explaining and showing everything. If you stick with vintage styling, I also recommend a Denman brush or two (the styling brush and/or paddle brush). I feel like they are a must-have for long hair vintage styling. Keep up the good work!

From my experience I used to have a modern medium cut that when pin curled it just looked like a boxy curly hair do but when I had my hairdresser do the proper middy cut external layering my hair would naturally fall into an amazing 40's/50's do without me having to pin anything up. I highly recommend getting the horseshoe shape haircut even if it's just an inch shorter it makes all the difference in vintage hair styles

The thing is that you have naturally wavy or curly, even though you brush it out perfectly to get straighter hair. When I do the rollers, they loosen in half an hour to structured waves, and if there is humidity I will lose my set in an hour to just have stringy hair. Yes, I tried setting lotion and all kinds of technics. Straight hair won't do the same thing like your hair. If someone does this with 1a hair. Expect to do the photos right away, in half an hour you will just look like you have straight hair you didn't comb in half a year.
    Good luck!

For the style you were going for, your curlers were too small. For larger, bouncier curls, you need larger curlers. Also, your setting pattern is a little bit off. Put the curlers in going in straight rows moving from your face back to the nape of your neck. When you set your hair, don't worry about what part you are using later. Start your first row of curlers going straight back on the center of your head. Then a row on each side, etc. You'll probably end up with about 5 rows. Hope this helps. :-)

Jaký průměr natáček používáte? Mám tedy ještě o něco delší vlasy (cca po zadek), ale za pokus člověk nic nedá a na druhoválečné akce by se hodil další účes do zásoby :)
