【Japanese Honeybees】Measures against Hive Collapse

- Based on the experience of hive collapse last year, I've learned and this year I've made a sunshade using discarded materials for heat protection. I bought three blinds for about 1500 yen. It provides a space that doesn't interfere with the bees' flight or honey harvesting activities, and I believe it effectively blocks sunlight from the east, south, and west directions.

Japan is currently in the middle of the rainy season, and daytime temperatures are around 32°C. However, once the rainy season ends, the real summer begins, with temperatures reaching nearly 40°C. Although there is a water source nearby, I experienced the loss of a swarm due to hive collapse last year, so I have taken precautions by providing sunshades.
