【2024】Rice Field Irrigation

I finally open the valve of the irrigation pond and start letting the water flow. Once the water reaches the rice fields, I can start planting the rice seedlings.

Cocco san, I am not a farmer and I have never been interested in this activity before, but over the last few months, I have watched 100's of videos about rice farming! I think the entire process is fascinating!!
The water channels that you use are so interesting. Some fed by river water, and some just by mountain rain water. The system for diverting the water and channelling it into fields is amazing!! I think that some of these waterways are new, and some of them are very old? I love the maintenance of them and the management of them; it is so interesting!
In fact, the whole business of rice farming - from planting to harvest is so compelling!

There are 20 rice fields in total, and it took four days to complete the watering of all of them.

なんで農家は水路に落ち葉やゴミが落ちたりしないように伐採したり水路にフタしたり周りをコンクリートで整備しないんだろ？
効率悪すぎないか？労力の無駄やろ

私たちとしてもそれができれば一番なのですが、、、
そのためには莫大なコストがかかるので、そのこととの兼ね合いもありこのように年に数回掃除をしています
