Once these exclusive beach bathroom/condo's are cleaned and restocked the vagrants return! Note the deferred maintenance (missing shutters, failing roof, damaged lights, peeling paint, etc.).
Watching this clean-up makes me wonder if this whole situation is self-serving. Homeless people in terrible situations don't exist. How many employees at all levels would be needed? So it's essential to those employed in removing homeless people that they give them every opportunity to return? To me, Homeless people are an important part of the local economy. Just a thought.
I agree, but it's not the maintenance crews. It's the government bureaucrats that are making the high 6 figure salaries with great benefits and a pension. LAHSA and all the other government agencies created to address the problem. You also have all the aid companies given contracts and funding to provide services to the homeless, they might be non profit companies, but the executives still get paid very well. It's the homeless industrial complex. I'm sure most of the front line people want to help these people it's the upper management that sit in an office somewhere making a lot of money and if they solve the homeless problem they are out of a job. How eager are they to solve this problem?
@@DerekWill-p1bexactly. They could have built at least ONE dedicated full-service treatment center by now staffed with licensed psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, security, 24/7 monitoring, showers, 3 meals/day, etc. but of course that would actually go towards solving a major problem. God forbid we do _that_
@flanagamer Exactly, all they are doing now is enabling people to be homeless. We all see what a joke it is. They move them, knowing they will return after they leave. They give the illusion that they are trying to fix the problem so they can keep their jobs . I'm not talking about the maintenance crews , the park rangers, or the police they are just carrying out the policies of the people in charge. Like you wrote, all the money they spend on endless clean-up could be better spent on psychiatric and drug addiction treatment centers.
@nunyah8705 evidently, there's not enough or they can't stay for very long. I don't know how it's gotten this bad. It's not just here in Los Angeles. It's everywhere, including the rest of the world. Los Angeles County is the largest county in the US, so you see more, and notice more. California is a beautiful State regardless.
R' U FEELIN' ???? I'M FEELIN' TRUELY DISGUSTED TO SEE THIS RAW FACT IN VIDEO !!!!!

Once Upon A Time Santa Monica was picturesque
The team is having a good morning. Real progress has been made.
Most have mental health issues. It's not always drugs or alcohol. The money used for all this clean up should be used to help the homeless.
Where do they go? It gets cold, damp and summer it gets hot. How to treat human beings.
A shelter?
