I bought a 2021(Non Refresh) Tesla Model X Long Range Plus. It’s works perfectly. It has around 37,000 miles. I think brand new it’s 371 range but the range on mine is 360 miles. Best purchase I’ve made!
@@Myksgarage Yea at first the sensors were glitching out and it wasnt opening properly but I installed a software update and it was fixed. Everything works fine now!
We are planning to buy the longest range X and 2021 long-range plus, with 371 miles seems to be the longest X. Does your never go more than 360-mile charge and/or range? Does it actually not allow you to charge more than 360?
I currently own a 2015 model S p85D. Bought it from Tesla 18 months ago. It needed 12v battery last month. It needed the rear hatch actuator about 7months ago. The big hit was the battery heater located up front. This car came from Denver so the heater worked a bit harder in the winter. Total out of warranty was roughly $1,200. Granted this was 6 years old when I purchased it so I expect things to fail. Still a great vehicle and will take it over gas any day. I did rent a 2017 70D model X from Turo. It was a great ride as well. The model X will be the next Tesla I purchase. Great video, great information to know..
We just bought an X sight unseen from a different state. The sales guy was amazing and we take delivery next week. Thanks for the amazing video. We will be looking into the different tiny issues as they come.
Man, you are best. Thanks for explaining step by step what you did and everything you said is what I’m experiencing right now. Thanks for this video! Keep it up
Purchase a 2016 75D for my wife couple months ago. Win over with a fine tooth comb everything is fine with it. It has 90,000 Mi on it and we purchased it for $21 OTD. This is our first electric vehicle and getting a feel for it. If we like it in a couple years I will get her a new Model X long range. Hopefully by then they come out with solid state batteries. So far it's been a good experience.
I'm thinking about doing this same thing right now. Found one for $22k with 88,000 miles on it. Hows the A/C in the 3rd row. Are there even vents? That is really my only concern. I will have some kiddos back there and it gets hot here in the summer.
Great video. I purchased a 2016 90D as well which somehow still had warranty that expired only this month. So far it's been a year and the only issues i've had were a few rattles which Tesla service was able to fix. In Normal suspension I hear a slight clicking noise under hard acceleration. I don't feel a shudder though. This noise goes away in low suspension, however that gives you way more wear on the rear tires as the camber changes quite a bit. I've had about 12k out of my rears and will need to replace them soon. I think I have a small alignment issue though which I'll let Tesla handle when I swap the rears. It was also good to hear you replaced only two tires on one axle without issues. The 90D's are AWD and every tire place I quiz wants to replace all 4 which I don't think is required on this car as there is no transfer case. All around it's been a GREAT car and we've had lots of fun with it. Somehow after 6 years it still turns heads and is a real conversation starter no matter where I go. Glad to see you've only had minor issues as well. These seem to be standing the test of time.
Great comment, thanks for sharing! This car had 78,000 miles on it when I got it, and for the most part have gotten most of the issues resolved, thankfully under warranty. Luckily I still have 3 years left on the battery warranty which is the big concern!
Beautiful car! I love the color combination. The new ones are really expensive so a used one is the way to go. After this video I will definitely get a warranty. Thanks for posting.
I appreciate the video and sharing your experiences. I have the exact same year and model Tesla with one exception with mine having white seats. I do feel the front shutter under acceleration in my vehicle and the door pulsates while open as well. I also had issues with the front wheel trim with the cameras. I purchased my X with 23k miles but I can a only assume without maintenance repair from the prior owner. I was disappointed not to get Tesla maintenance from Tesla. To my surprise, Telsa has replaced or repaired several minor issues under their “goodwill” service. Thank goodness. I got the exact same car(90D 6 seat) at same mileages 75k miles and I'm the third owner as well. Now I had the car for 3 years and it has 130k miles. Love the car. You probably want to look into the inner rear tire issue and replace the rear toe and camber arms.
My Model S 75D is a 2017 and I dont think I'd buy anything older than late 2017 just because the autopilot hardware is completely different and not upgradeable prior to that. Mine came with AP2.5 and I've already received the 3.0 hardware upgrade. Glad you are enjoying yours and nice bit of luck on that warranty. Excellent and helpful video thank you! You have a very calm and informative delivery, which is really appreciated! I’m just beginning to research the Tesla Model X’s. Looking at used as well. I have a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica plug in hybrid, which has been great (despite Chrysler’s reputation), but at this point I’m over gas vehicles, even the plug ins! Plug ins are a great bridge to full EVs but ready for full electric. The biggest draw for me with the X, besides being fully electric, is the 6 seat configuration. It might take longer to find the 6 seater option but with kids that seems really practical and also avoids the arguments that can happen on a bench seat! Thanks again for the really helpful video.
Fab video, would have loved to know more about the extended warranty you have and also the software that you are running, whether you have all updates with sentry, dascam etc…
This had MCU and auto pilot version 1, so sentry mode, dash cam were not available because this car did not have all the cameras and no additional updates were being received for this. Thanks for watching.
New tires every 12k miles??? I know I've heard they go through tires quickly but that's almost an oil change interval! Is that the case for all Model X? Just the weight?
It sucks! The fully charged range stated 230miles, but we would be luck to be able to travel 160. You just have to plan accordingly, like take a gas car 😀
@@Myksgarage do you take a gas car going on trips more because of the range? Kind of torn now if we should get it lol Same exact model and yr like yours except smaller rims
@@DIYRealestatematchmaker we sold this model x in December 2021, we only owned it for 6 months. It's hard to road trip in this one for us, we have 4 kids so we use all 6 seats, with the third row up there was very little room for luggage or any personal luggage. But the range was the biggest down side was the lack of range. Realistically 160 miles of range, then having to stop for 40minutes to charge. We bought a 2022 GM Yukon XL with a Diesel engine that gets 800 miles of range. I might do a video for you that re caps our experience with the Model X, that gives real world feedback
It’s obvious in your situation, this car works out for you (repairs under warranty, able to charge at home, solar panels installed). Without all those resources, this would definitely be not the vehicle to get. You gotta out of your mind to to get this at 75k miles.
Great video. How’s it holding up? Any regrets or other issues? I’m considering getting a 2017 or 2018 X 7 seater if I can find a good deal. But I’m also looking at a slightly 2020-2021 model Y 7 seater. Any thoughts on which way to go?
For some smaller issues they might have a mobile service in your area where they will come to you to help fix things. If you don’t live near a Tesla service center and it breaks down You’ll need to get it towed to the nearest service center however far away that is
I have lots of questions. Have you had any major issues since this video? How are the falcon wings holding up? And how is the Mcu , I assume it’s the first gen
No other issues. MCU 1 is slow, and at times annoying. Not sure I want to drop $2k to upgrade it though. Falcon doors are okay, occasionally they detect obstacles that are not really there. Luckily it’s still got warranty left to take care of the small things
@@Myksgarage We also bought a used 2016 Model X in 2018. Still going strong! We're definitely keeping it forever since we have free supercharging. I should mention that the infotainment upgrade is now only $1,500.
You're taking chances since it doesn't have warranty anymore. It could be a great car but you could also have big repair bills coming up. Battery, suspension, sensors just to name a few. I won't sell my 130k 2016 model x ( yeah I have one) if I know there's nothing wrong with it.

I kinda want a model x 75d with 156k miles for 56k but I’m just scare that something bs would happen because I want to use the car as daily driver and don’t want to deal anything
For the price of those things, you should not be having those kinda issues. If that warranty wasn't there I doubt you would still have that vehicle. Sad Tesla is still having a lot of issues.
as someone who did just this in 2021 and went through 17k in maintenance in two years with an $1800/mo payment. the true guide is really 1 step. 1) don't do it.
I bought a 2016 with 83k I had to replace the infotainment 2k dollars but worth it to be able to actually use it, I Do have the shuttering but doesn’t bother me much it doesn’t happen all the time, my 80% milage is at 178 now so hopefully I can get them to replace the battery for free I haven’t had to do any repairs other then alignment and I drive like MAD MAN…the car show is cool but seems like it would cause damage if you keep doing it
If you own a new one better enjoy the first 3-5years of it because as we all know battery lifespan starts to deteriorate between the first 2-4years. So dont be surprise if your range becomes more and more less then what it was. Also note that the battery overtime will start to lose its ability to hold a charge like any rechargeable battery would.. Now if you bought a used Tesla at a bargain price you will be in for a surprise if when you need to replace the battery itself one day, so prepare yourself to fork over 10k or more.

Really helpful information. What were the costs to fixe these issues? It will be more helpful
It was covered under the extended warranty
How expensive was the chrome deletion? Thanks for the informative videos best regards from Germany
It was like $220. And it worked out pretty good
really helpful, thanks for this content
I'm glad this helped, thanks for watching!
How’s the range on your x? When traveling
It sucks! The fully charged range stated 230miles, but we would be luck to be able to travel 160. You just have to plan accordingly, like take a gas car 😀
@@Myksgarage haha thank you! for the honest response are you thinking of upgrading to the newer longer range?
@@Myksgarage awesome thank you for that reply that really shed some light!
It’s obvious in your situation, this car works out for you (repairs under warranty, able to charge at home, solar panels installed). Without all those resources, this would definitely be not the vehicle to get. You gotta out of your mind to to get this at 75k miles.
Yeah
Do you find the 2016's infotainment screen to be a little laggy?
Yes
So what is the warranty on a 2016 MX? It expires in 2024?
Correct, in 2024 and in the month it was delivered to the original buyer.
Seems like little nit pick items go bad on them, which is an indicator of not so good build quality
Exactly
If ur car dies and all gets black u cant put it in tow mode so u can dmg transmition when u pull it on the truck
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video does tesla offer a warenty you can purchase after expiration?
Yes they do offer an extended warranty
Any update vids?
Not really I sold that car in December of 2021
Thank you for all information
👍
Nice video! Well said 😊
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing. Your video is very helpful.
Nice!
Excellent , What about the autopilot? is slow?
No, Auto pilot is very good
Falcon wing doors are way smarter and better in every way than Lamborghini doors ;)
Maybe, once I get a Lambo I'll be able to make a fair comparison
Where did you find one under 50k
Back In April/May there were many available for under $50K, Now that Gas prices have gone up, and there is no new inventory, prices have increased!
Thank you so much Sir !! i will check vin number b4 buy !! thank you!!
👍
nice honest video
Thanks for watching!
Very informative
👍
Is 3nrd row foldable
Yeah it folds down out of the way. 2nd row with captains chairs are not foldable
How much did you pay for this Model X with 75000 miles? $50,000???
In May of 2021 I paid $48,200.
Great video. How’s it holding up? Any regrets or other issues? I’m considering getting a 2017 or 2018 X 7 seater if I can find a good deal. But I’m also looking at a slightly 2020-2021 model Y 7 seater. Any thoughts on which way to go?
Check you this update video:

Hi, what is the normal range when you travel in a long trip with everybody in car?
On a road trip, we could probably go 185 miles tops!
@@Myksgarage Dankeschön 😉
I want a model x, id keep the back row down always since i dont need that many
Yeah they are sweet cars!
Very helpful advice
Thank you!
Thanks for making this vid!
Thank you for watching!
did he end up saying the price or no
I bought it for $48,200 in May 2021
What would someone do if there aren’t any Tesla service centers near? Also, how much are they to insure?
Here’s a video I made for you about Insurance cost:
th-cam.com/video/SeIyoftLPbc/w-d-xo.html
@@jaeeboom still going strong? Considering buying a 2017 with 60k miles just a little nervous but do plan on buying the extended warranty
@@ProjectDrift350Zdid u end up purchasing 2017 Model X? If so how is it? Did u extend warranty would love to hear your experience
@@ohok8524 I actually didn’t go through with it but yes I would’ve definitely purchased the extended warranty
Thank you for this informative video. Your video is unbiased, really appreciate your efforts.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your positive feedback!
YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF MAINTENCE COST COMPARED TO EV.
I’m looking at a 2016 same as yours but it has 130k miles should I pass on it ? They only want like 24k for it ?
Could be a good deal!
You're taking chances since it doesn't have warranty anymore. It could be a great car but you could also have big repair bills coming up. Battery, suspension, sensors just to name a few. I won't sell my 130k 2016 model x ( yeah I have one) if I know there's nothing wrong with it.
Motor mounts?
I didn't have issues during the short time I owned this car
All these issues truly show how expensive it’s going to be out of warranty because replacing parts is just a temporary fix to reoccurring issues.
Yes, that is why I got rid of it before the warranty expired
@@Myksgaragehow long did you own it and why’d you sell?
Good video thanks for the tips
Yes! Thanks for watching
My God! have the prices come down a lot in 2024. You can get 2-3 year old MX for around $48-60K. now a days.
Yeah it's crazy!
Thanks, for the video Myks, very informative. You mentioned you had the callipers painted red and added the lettering? Was there not Telsa lettering before? Who did the painting? did they have to remove the callers?
I painted them myself, I didn’t have to remove the caliper, just one wheel at a time. This was the kit I used: amzn.to/3G8kMGw
Here is a link to the video I did on the caliper painting: th-cam.com/video/VwRm-w2HXoE/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the link I appreciate it. Were you skeptical on those stickers lasting? How are they holding up?
@@cosmiclion6765 they have held up great! Putting a layer of clear on them helps a lot. I did the same thing to a BMW and the decals lasted great owner 7 years of ownership
@@Myksgarage pretty cool It lasted that long. I did not expect it to. Now that think of it, I actually used this G2 brake paint kit on my old Car but never used Decal. Where did you get the Tesla decals from?
Video is very helpful :) the reason I didn't by tesla
Thanks for watching
They shouldn’t have been able to strip the free super charging, it follows the vehicle, not the person (sounds suspect Tesla).
Yeah they are very anxious to remove that benefit
nice review 💜
Thanks for watching!
Why didn’t you get the free upgraded mcu? Did I miss something?
The MCU upgrade is $1,500
What is the phone number to call to check for supercharging
1 (888) 518-3752
Tl;Dr: no warranty means huge bills.
Yes it does!
how tall is your garage?
It's about 10.5'
How much did you pay for it?
Back in May 2021 when I bought it I paid $48k for it. The same car is going for around $30k now
I bought a 2022 tesla model x plad
How do you like it?
I kinda want a model x 75d with 156k miles for 56k but I’m just scare that something bs would happen because I want to use the car as daily driver and don’t want to deal anything
I would get a high mileage Tesla model S, you can get for under $30k
@@Myksgarage I’ll see
As a daily driver, a Model S is a great suggestions 👍😊
Hi could you post the part numbers for the motor mount and the axle from the invoice?
Thanks!
I no longer have the invoice or the car, sorry
For the price of those things, you should not be having those kinda issues. If that warranty wasn't there I doubt you would still have that vehicle. Sad Tesla is still having a lot of issues.
Yeah I ended up selling it shortly after this video because I didn't want to own it with an expired warranty
Save money to when screan breaks after warenty... its 10.000$
Yeah that's expensive!
as someone who did just this in 2021 and went through 17k in maintenance in two years with an $1800/mo payment. the true guide is really 1 step.
1) don't do it.
$17k in maintenance on a model X?
I bought a 2016 with 83k I had to replace the infotainment 2k dollars but worth it to be able to actually use it, I
Do have the shuttering but doesn’t bother me much it doesn’t happen all the time, my 80% milage is at 178 now so hopefully I can get them to replace the battery for free I haven’t had to do any repairs other then alignment and I drive like MAD MAN…the car show is cool but seems like it would cause damage if you keep doing it
Is yours a 75D?
If you own a new one better enjoy the first 3-5years of it because as we all know battery lifespan starts to deteriorate between the first 2-4years. So dont be surprise if your range becomes more and more less then what it was. Also note that the battery overtime will start to lose its ability to hold a charge like any rechargeable battery would.. Now if you bought a used Tesla at a bargain price you will be in for a surprise if when you need to replace the battery itself one day, so prepare yourself to fork over 10k or more.
These cars are going strong well past 12 years of ownership
Still holding up strong?!😁
Sold it after owning it for 8 months for a new Model Y. Here's a video I made comparing the 2
