Living in Hawaii sounds like a dream! But, I see how it could turn into a nightmare in a situation where supply lines are cut off. I hope you’re able to get all your supplies! Are you able to grow a garden? I’d imagine your growing season is amazing.
I have just started following your channel and I am enjoying your videos. Also I am looking forward to your new content as you begin the next chapter of your journey! Mike
Mike! We're so glad to have you join. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. The next month is going to be challenging yet exciting as we move, and we'll do our best to keep you posted. Talk to you later friend.
Sonja Ortiz, I am so glad to hear you needed this! That was exactly our hope in filming this. Thank you for your kind words, and we’re so thankful to have you as part of our community!!
Hey Conrad Homestead. Thanks so much for coming back. We really appreciate you taking the time to be here. Tools!!! Excellent tip. Those are certainly essential to have on hand. We were recently talking about the need to have back up tools of all our power tools so we have more primitive means if/when necessary. We buy our bulk grains different places- Winco is one of our favorites as is Azure Standard. But we buy from Sam's from time to time as well. Recently we bought a few 25# bags of white flour from Walmart for $6 each! We usually don't include flour in our bulk food stores, but for that price, we needed to get a few for a rainy day.
Hey First1000Hours! That’s a great question. Yes, we do buy seeds online. We’ve bought from a few places, and Baker Creek has great quality seeds that we have had great experiences with, they don’t sell in bulk quantities. We like to buy from TrueLeafMarket for bulk micro green seeds and JonnySeeds for bulk garden seeds. Thanks for your ongoing support!
Thanks so much for taking the time to ask us these questions. Can I call you Cally? I will watch the video to make sure, but I think it was either a salt bag or possibly a bag of rice. Sometimes when we get a bag of something and it’s one of those canvas type bags, we’ll just place the whole bag in the bucket, rather than dump it out. I’m assuming that’s why it looked like fabric in there (because technically it is!) For the wheat berries, we have done a few different things. We’ve ground them in the vitamix, which came out more like corn meal, we’ve used the Country Living grain mill, which is totally manual and we love. You can change how fine you grind, which nice, and you can connect it to a stationary bike to grind with your legs! We haven’t done that ourselves, but would love to give it a try in the future. It is a lot of work on your arms! More recommended for when you have power available is just an electric grain mill. Far less effort on your part, and when we have the conveniences available, it is nice to use them!
I just found you guys a few days ago and love your content. So, naturally, I subscribed! But, guess what?! My hubs is a media professional (shooting, editing, and everything in between). He can definitely give you some tips to help you balance out your audio levels (your cute intro is loud and the episode is quiet). I’m volunteering his help for free...just let me know (I don’t wanna post his contact info for the world to see, lol).
Hey Cory! Somehow I missed your comment. I’m so glad you found us! Thank you for reaching out with the kind words. We’re so glad you’re part of our community! We’re inching our way to 1,000 subs, and once we reach that goal we can open a community page, which we cannot wait for, so we can start connecting more. Your offer for advice from your husband is so thoughtful. Video production is not our forte, and we’ve been doing all the filming, editing, and posting on my phone. 😆 If your husband is willing to give us tips on getting our volume right and better sound quality, we would love that input. We have gotten a number of comments regarding our poor sound quality, and I do not know how to rectify it. Please feel from your email me at livingquitesimplyfamily@gmail.com Blessings!
Hey, you guys can come on over for a meal and we'll send you home with some sugar as well. Shortly before shooting that video, I was reading in Story Branding that hitting certain emotions can elicit desired responses. Those preparedness buckets immediately came to my mind! They are outrageously priced, and only because they struck the right emotion! We so appreciate your taking the time to comment. Blessings to your family!
Stocking up is especially important here in Hawaii where our food supply is highly dependent on the mainland.

@@LivingQuiteSimply I live in a condo. I've tried growing before and failed.
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you can stock up on food just in case!

You speak with great wisdom! Thank you, I really needed this. New Sub!

Excellent list!
Thanks Perma Pastures Farm! We so appreciate it!
good thoughts we always have so much food as there are only two of us we love buying things when it is on sale.
That’s awesome! Its important to be ready, and it sounds like you’re always ready. We can’t resist a good sale either!
Super thoughtful and informative Dana, thank you! 🙏🏻
Thanks so much Ozark Prepsteaders! We so appreciate your support!
New to your channel ~ you are so helpful thank you for sharing ! 🙏👍💜
Tools is something I would add to list. Where do you buy your bulk grains?

Living Quite Simply the back to power tools is smart. I’ll have to think through that idea. Thanks for giving the places you get grains.
6:34 Do you buy bulk seeds online? I've heard about Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, but I've never bought anything from them yet.

Question? Why do you have fabric in your bean bucket? How do you process your wheat berries?

Do you have a cup of sugar we can borrow ? 😂 Very helpful video👍 Thanks for sharing! Paying for fear, I like that.

Living Quite Simply I’ve never thought of it like that but it’s so true. Keep sharing truth! 👍
