- thanks for watching ✨ Today we are (finally) talking about net worth again! In early 2024, I set the goal to start growing my net worth to $100,000. Now, we are checking in to see how it is going, and discovering a new way to track your net worth and hopefully help motivate us on our journey to building wealth. As always, I am sharing my exact numbers as it pertains to savings, investments, debt, and other assets. I hope you enjoy this video!

Watching in my 40s... And only just starting I feel so behind!
nooo don't feel behind!! just think of all the people who never even start ;)
Keep going mate I started at 41... was in 7K debt and living in my overdraft. I'm now debt free have a 15K emergency fund. 20K saving pot and just surpassed ~$150K. Diversification and a clear understanding of your financial goals are key... I am almost 43 now!
The only comparison that matters is the one to yesterday's self. Today you're starting which means you're already better than you were yesterday:)
I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I feel pretty silly for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!
Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in ETFs, equity index funds, and individual stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system makes it much more hands-off. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it fairly simple for me... I am convinced it's not just hard work but smart work :-)
Just reached 21.000 after 1 year of savings and now 3 months of steadily investing in ETF.
Can't wait to reach 100k.
Zero debt , zero credit card ever.

I hit 100k at 28. Just turned over 800k at 37. It really started taking on a life of its own that last couple of years.
How did you make it from 100 to 800k in less than 10 years? How much do you earn if I might ask
Hi! I’ve reached 100k also but not sure what exactly happens to grow it more? Is ur investing?
I did that as well!! But in GBP.
Zoe, I don’t get sick of hearing you talk. I actually appreciate hearing your thought process…it sometimes helps me reflect on things differently ❤😊
💖💖
26 and my wife and I hit just over 250k. GI benefits and no student loans helped a bunch!
In my language its called like netwealth. I think its better, because its not about your worth, like u said. Nice video again, thank you 😊
yess that is a way better term!!! “worth” is ugh 😑
Love your attitude and positivity Zoe. I have a lil bit over 50k on my nw, it is slow, sometimes i had setbacks too, but thanks to you who reminded me that doesn't matter how little progress ive made. it's still a progress. Stay well Zoe!!
you're doing amazing!!
Just reached my 100K net worth before turning 30 :) so excited about this!
omg yay! congrats 🎉
i love how you’re raw and honest and super real with us. it’s amazing to see things not hidden and sugar coated.
thank you so much!!
I feel like I'm behind because my cash savings are kind of low this year but i bought a starter house and a piece of land to build my future dream house (in like 10 years). Sometimes it's hard to visualize when the majority is in assets but I think I'm around $75,000 at 26! Spending the next 1.5 years knocking out my debt from renovations/land and then I'll be super saving
sounds like you are doing great!!!
Just calculated my net worth for the first time. I'm 25 and have a net worth of just over 35k. I think I can hit 50k by this time next year and that's so exciting! The first 100k will hopefully be mine by 30, but I think I'll have to buy a new car (my current one is at 176k miles) so that may slow me down lol.
sounds like you are doing fantastic!!!!
I agree with your net worth concept. I am working towards 100k in investments. I am very close at 97k in investments! I have over 100K net worth though will be purchasing a house next month which will cause a large liability on my net worth statement. The house will cause me to have a negative net worth overall but I feel confident in working towards paying down a mortgage rather than rent and having an investment portfolio be able to grow to cover my future retirement needs. Definitely good to be working towards goals which look a little different for each individual
Loved this video, Zoe! I love what you said about how tracking your money can be a source of comfort, and not anxiety - we always say that knowing where your money is, and where it's going, is actually a huge stress reliever 😊
hiiii my faves!! i forgot to link you video haha omw to do so
I think of net worth as a whole including anything I own. I do include my car because you could sell it at anytime and even in your accident insurance paid out the amount it was worth. When I calculate, I use the current value of the vehicle if I were to sell it. I also add any debt as a subtraction to my net worth so any loan for the vehicle. I also do this with my mortgage for my home and it’s current estimated value if I were to sell it. I think you could do an estimate for liquid and for owned assets even if depreciating since you’ve worked hard to purchase those large items (car, home, etc).
Good job. It is so fun to see growth. I busted my butt to get to 100k. I hit it a few years ago. It definitely explodes after with a few good stock market years. 10% market growth starts being a lot of money! Congrats on your success.
congrats to you too!!
Zoe!! I love your videos, you motivate me so much to pay off my debt and get better with my money. Thank you so much for posting your videos 🫶 💕
yayyy that is all I can wish for 💖
Very informative video you have, I have been able to understand the messages you pass but there are some other challenges that may come about when taking some other risks or planning
I don’t think anyone that has dedicated time, money and efforts to scale to new net worths in whatever field of investments hasn’t reach some of the challenges that you would face personally.
My son has been able to help with such issues through a CFA he was able to link me up with. Since hiring my advisor? It’s been better handling such financial turmoil that may happen
Oh yeah! You can definitely say that, it does worry me a bit, but not as much as it would worry the average guy, my investment portfolio has survived a couple of recessions unscathed, been privileged to be guided under the stewardship of an extremely gifted investment manager by the name Joseph Nick Cahill
@@OwenFlex Sure.. JOSEPH NICK CAHILL has a really unique gift of being able to looking far ahead down the road to spot future investment portholes and possible major mishaps, so he helps me make the safest investments and also helps me hedge all my investments against possible future downturns
Ok… I’ve been able to do some research on the Web and I found his site, he has his license so that’s reassuring
I have been rewatching your first Growing to 100k to keep myself motivated so I am so happy to see your update!! ❤🎉
oh yayy!! i plan to post more frequent updates now that i am tracking it 🩷🩷
I would recommend doing smaller checks weekly! Having that net worth with no debt is def an accomplishment. I still remember when hit the number it was such a weird feeling keep it up!
Hey fellow Canadian here you should look into opening an FHSA - very similar to RRSP where you can deduct deposits from your income (big win) and apply it tax free to the purchase of your first home!
What I love about your videos is that you're so clearly not trying to prove how rich you are, and how you have all the secrets for overnight success. It probably shouldn't be as rare of a thing as it is, but almost every finance or self-development channel on TH-cam seems to have become a bragging contest on how everybody is a millionaire and how you can be one too, if you do exactly what they did. Sometimes it even involves buying their course.
ah thank you!! just trying to keep it realistic over here 💖 bragging helps no one and makes people feel bad - not a vibe!!
Off topic but you look stunning.
💖💖 thank you
Zoe! Your hair looks amazing! ❤
thank you!!!
Zoe thank you for sharing and congratulations on your progress, super inspiring! Loved the final takeaways ❤
Im currently at 100k debt : (
That final messages is the reason I follow you!!!! love that actitud and you have no idea how much your journey help mine.
ohhh i love to hear this 💖💖
I always include everything like cars. I just undervalue them a good bit
Yay zoe I moved to Canada now so we finally speak the same currency:). Let me know if you have any fave coffee shops or things to do in Toronto.
Also I spent so much money on this move so it made a dent in my net worth a bit so going to be following a lot of your budget videos now to get back on track - Ty for making budgeting fun
i hope your move was as seamless as can be and Toronto is treating you well 🩷 Check out the cafe at the Ace hotel, its so cute!! And I love Queen West for walking and shoping and cafe hopping around. Oh and Ossington! Such a cute street 😍
@@ZoePritchard Ty Queen west is so nice!! I’ll def check out those spots.
Loved watching this Zoe! I love how realistic everything is here.
Just growing naturally, no beating yourself up for anything, that's the vibe we all should carry in our lives.
I was someone who used to beat herself up. I used to see what other freelancers are earning and I made it mandatory for myself to hit those goals and compete with them. It took me quite a lot of time to fix it and get out of that mindset. Now I know its my journey and my journey alone and I don't need to decide what's right for me based on what others are doing.
yesss I love this attitude!! 💖
Great job! ❤ you’ll be at $100k before you know it!
hehe i hope so! 💖
Just wanted to say I enjoyed your interview on the Inspired Budget podcast today. You’re doing great!😊
ah yay!! i haven't listened to it yet hehe
$100k in USA is equivalent to like £40k in the UK. Taking into account cost of living .. ..not just exchange rate
Chai means Tea. So either it would be pumpkin chai or pumpkin tea.
Zoe you’re glowing you look gorgeous. Thanks for another great video🥰
omg thank youuu!!
I was so excited to hear you on the Inspired Budget podcast today! I was like, "I know that voice! That's Zoe!" 😅
hahahaa i haven’t listened to it yet 🙈
@@ZoePritchard it was really good!!
That is the key amount target. Our portfolio went up over 6 figure this year. Hang in there to become a serious investor. You will live on the 50 yard line then..
Thank you for your transparency Zoe! 💗
thank you for watching!!
Very inspiring Zoe! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Have you considered closing that random savings account to avoid the fee instead of keeping $500 in there? It doesn’t seem like you need it for any reason
the fee is for my chequing account 🙈 the savings account avoids the chequing fee
Hello Zoe,
Does the download require Excel? - I don't want to have to purchase a separate digital product just to access this.
nope! i use it in google sheets which is free with my gmail account
Off topic but where did you get your shirt??? I love it!
thank you!! its from Sezane
What's your thoughts on having multiple checking accounts and multiple savings accounts? I have a handful of each
yes I do this too!
obsessed with ur vids zoe!
thank youuu 💖💖
Not done the video yet, but so far it’s great as always! What mic do you use Zoe?
thank you!! its the Hollyland clip on mic :)
This is also my goal, but for my savings! So awesome to be doing this together! You're looking GORGEOUS, btw 😍 💕
omg thank youu!! 💖
Great video as always ☺️🙌
thank you!!!
Is rrsp your main retirement savings? Im not sure but im not sure if I should be included retirement funds since they are unavailable till im around 60. Without retirement my Net worth is low
i would include them! because they will only grow over time too :)
Thanks for sharing Zoe! I love the honesty and insights! :) I've shared your vids with girlfriends and they love it!
Quick - maybe stupid my bad - question, I'm assuming you are tracking everything in Canadian dollar currency? I.e. your current net worth is in Canadian dollars :)?
yesss always CAD :)
Very good you accomplished alot. You should be proud of yourself. Keep uo the good work
Nice to see your channel! I’m musician in Montreal and I invest too to be FIRE. Mine is 298k now 😊 good luck in your adventure ! It’s so exciting!
amazing!!! good luck to you too 😍

hahaha one day 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Girl, you're super close, I can totally see you hitting your goal for 2024🎉
omg that would be crazyyy 💖
@ZoePritchard no pressure, of course! I am just super excited for you, and remember, A LOT can happen in 3 days, talk less of the entire 3 MONTHS we have left in 2024! I'm definitely rooting for you ❤️
With the money you have invested at 28 without adding money you would have over 3 million by the time you retire at 67 if you don't touch the money. Well done
ayeee that's so cool haha
Hi Zoe. Great video. In my opinion, you should always encourage people who can't afford to spend money at the beginning of their debt free or finance journey to look into free resources first and then evolve as their finances allow. Everyone's finances are different and there is no shame in trying out free resources first.
At the end of the day, the net worth equation is simply, what you own - what you owe. Cheers! 🙂
thats true! i didnt mean to sound like i was discouraging free resources 🙈 i just meant the ones I tried (paper cash envelopes and a different budget tracker) didnt work for me.
@@ZoePritchard That's important. I've been a spreadsheet girl for years and that was basically what made budgeting stick. I do a little cash stuffing for fun. It's about 10% of my sinking funds and variable spending only. No bills. 🙂
Congrats!
Congratulations… I reached this about 15 years ago… sadly, it’s only quadrupled since 😞
I get confused when calculating net worth when it comes to including asset's... I have a home with some equity build up and a camp property, do I include that equity in my net worth, also have a union self directed pension plan can I include that?
I include my pension in my net worth. Also, as far as your home, the total loan balance is listed in liabilities and any equity in your home can be listed as the home's full value in your assets, if you know that. For instance if your home is worth $500K but you owe $450K, you have $50 in equity and that will show in your favor in your net worth equation.
If you sell the house tomorrow, how much profit will you actually make after paying off your whole mortgage? I think that's what the house is worth to you, financially speaking.
personally i would include my homes resale value and my pension if I had these things 🫶🏼
@@ZoePritchard you do have a pension! 😃CPP will be around when you hit your 60s and it's *your* money. Not sure I'd include it in a net worth calculation but definitely for retirement planning.
Didnt do shit in my 20s. But we are at 320k networth now at 39. No debt except the house 😊
woohoo amazing!!
Zoe you are so beautiful 😭❤ Inside out!!
omg thank youuu 💖💖 so nice of you!
Love your long hair! And congratulations!
thank you!!
You are doing great.
9 minutes in, very little real information shared except repeating “I’m going to share my net worth.” I’m out, not trying to be rude, but time is valuable and I don’t have all day. TH-camrs need to get to the point more quickly.
Congratulation! Thanks for recording your passionate healthy and wealthy journey. I am older and restarting my health and wealth journey. Keep up the good work!
thank you 💖 healthy and wealthy journey is the best hehe
You are just so interesting! Love how organized and cute you are!
Go Beautiful, Zoe! You’re well on your way to $100K! (that rhymes lol)❤
ahhh love this poem hehe 💖
Florida hit everyone hard in the Summer 😅😂
Lets put our networths to netflix and chill together😊
What an exciting journey! Im on the 200k journey now :) I just got to 100k at 25, so now the next leg of the journey is hopefully a little easier. Cheers 🎉
yayy congrats!! keep it up :)
Imagine how long it would take to reach 10M
Zoe you look soooo gorgeous ❤
omg thank youuu!!!
Such great progress. Your 60+ self will thank you! Congratulations!!
hehe thank you!!
Skip the first 5 min to get to the point
What year are you planning on obtaining a million dollar net worth?
no idea 🤪 lets hit 100k first haha
New subscriber here! I started watching your videos two weeks ago. Just started my first job out of college and am excited to start my journey to becoming debt free! You're inspiring and I love your content
yay!! congrats on the new job and embarking on the exciting journey of paying off debt 💖 you got this!
Instead of funds from your emergency account, why not take the money you need from an loc and pay it off when you can. Interest rates on LOC are usually pretty low.
Canada interest rates on LOCs are pretty high right now. I have a high credit score and work for a bank so I get a staff discount and my rate is still 7.95%. It would be very difficult to find a savings account that out-earns that. The prime rate in Canada is currently 6.45% so you generally won't borrow for much less than that and that's with perfect credit
@@taylordeal4154 I meant the rates on LOCs are some of the lowest you’ll find on credit products in Canada, i.e lower than credit cards and loans. And as the bank of canada continues to lower rates, the interest rates on LOCs will also continue to go down. If responsible, LOCs can be a nice way to borrow without depleting your savings.
@@taylordeal4154 interest rates are steadily going down as the bank of canada continues to lower the key interest rate. LOCs only require you to make interest payments. The minimum payment on a $1,000 balance with a 7.95% interest rate is less than $7 a month. Using an LOC can be great for cash flow if you’re disciplined and will make more than the minimum payment.
Not that you haven't worked hard to get money into your investments, but if your investments haven't gone crazy the last year you're investing in the wrong things!

Jesus, 100k Canadian!? GBP would be understandable but 100k Canadian should be fairly easy to achieve within a year. Also, genuinely curious about average house prices in Canada as 100k even in the UK won't get you a mortgage for a shoebox in London. Good job on being debt free though
is it really that fairly easy to save 100k Canadian in a year?! on what salary? Perhaps if you are making 150k after taxes and live very frugally. 100k Canadian is about 75k USD, 100k GBP is about 133k USD. And people in the UK barely scrape by.. How many people her age have these savings in UK? Hardly any or some lucky ones inherited from grandparents.
@@augustek5382 Newsflash, people in every country barely get by. There are also plenty of people her age in countries such as the UK (I know, because I am one) that have these savings and more. It's not that difficult and no, I wasn't gifted anything by mummy/daddy or any other relative.
LOL whyd you come here just to put me down? Im happy and it seems like you’re doing simply fantastic so why not just keep that to yourself and let others be?
@@tg007ful you must be one of those very very rare exceptions in the UK, because people in UK normally don't even have any savings. Average annual salary in the UK for age group 22-29 is only £29,380. It is pretty crazy you can save 100k a year on these low wages in the UK even if you make a bit more than the average. Financial managers and directors make £70,000 annually on average which is not that much considering high housing prices in the UK.
@@ZoePritchard - good for you ZOE. You are doing an amazing job at savings and staying debt free. You even say in your video, that the "take away" is to just see the growth.. and not for comparing, if I or someone else has more or less. The previous post by Augustek seems more about EGO than encouragement (it's a common thing for that person probably). No need to worry!
Zoe, love the content so helpful to see someone else's journey in real time! I reached out over email but it bounced back, I run a financial services monetization blog. Have connections with most of the major banks and financial service platforms. We work with several youtube creators in your space that have found a lot of success, based on what you're doing i think you could have pretty significant upside. let me know if you want to chat for a few minutes, feel like there is a good partnership here if you're interested.
Loved this update! Very information and motivating, great job on route to 100k!! 🥹🫶🏼🫶🏼
thank you so much!!!
So Zoe’s afraid of tracking her net worth because of its emotional weight? Isn’t it wild how our finances can feel like a rollercoaster? 🎢
so crazy!!
