Looks secure and a visible deterrent. Folding the tops of the doors over is unfortunately too common. Am I presuming that you can’t fit higher due to no access to the keep bolts ?
Technically the locks are universal, so they can be mounted anywhere as long as there is the needed clearances. We mounted at the recommended location from the manufacturer. Folding the top of the doors does happen, as does an angle grinder cutting a hole in the body of the van. 😬
We have a van conversation with cabinets where these locks should go. Can they be placed in different locations, higher up away from cabinets? Or are there extensions for the emergency release cables?
I'm assuming you mean there is a cabinet near the rear door that would interfere with the emergency release. Legend doesn't offer any cable extensions, but there is some flexibility on where that release can be installed; not a ton, but +/- a few inches. Technically, these are universal locks, so they could be mounted in another location, you'll just want to make sure it's mounted on a flat surface and there's no interference behind the body that would impede the installation of the plus nuts or release cable. If that doesn't work, you may want to check out the deadbolt we sell: upfitsupply.com/product/thunderbolt-deadbolt-lock-kit-ford-transit/
We used the Astro 1450 plus nut tool. If you use a rivet tool, make sure it has the extra long mandrels for plus nuts (some are only designed for standard rivet nuts).
Two things you might want to check: (1) is the emergency release cable stuck/engaged? (2) to lock, you need to turn the key all the way to the left and then pull it out (don't turn the key back to center like you would for a traditional deadbolt). Here's a video on how to operate: th-cam.com/video/-f3Vc4nbqIE/w-d-xo.html If you're still having issues, give us or Legend Fleet a call!

What brand and model plusnut tool were used in the install ?

No thanks your just inviting corrosion in the area you drill
cant get it to lock. Securilock is installed, but will not lock.
