      I think the best advice I ever got was just make the best you can right now, and then get one percent better each new song you put out. Before you know it you will feel really comfortable creating in the program.

      Same here even I'm having problem s not being able to figure out how to make the kind of music I want, just the hacks ,, soo there's not need to stack patterns on top of each other just put in what you have and split the channels up?

    Wonderful! Thank you. When I make the pattern unique , is there a way to also change the associated instrument with it? The original pattern was a piano and I'd like to change the copy to a different sound but it also changes the original patterns sound.

    Could you create different patterns from one single instrument? (viola for example). Because every time I did it there is issues with CC1. I would like to record for exemple 10 different patterns using one single viola (without need to creating 10 clone from that viola) and I would also need to know if Im able to listen one particular pattern (for example "pattern 2") and record pattern 3 without causing issues in pattern 2. Actually when I doing this pattern 2 stop sound...
    Thanks for your help.

    • @ProductionDen
      @ProductionDen  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can create different patterns.
      But if you want to have patterns play at the same time from the same instrument, then you need to clone the instrument.

    Anyone...please...where can you change to what vst in the channelrack the info in a pattern is send?

    This seems like basic signal flow but I just don't get it.

    • @ProductionDen
      @ProductionDen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Select the instrument in the channel rack. Then press F4. This will create a new pattern that you can name. Then record with that instrument. Then you can select that pattern from the drop down near the transport control area if you want to focus on that.
      Or when you are in the playlist mode, you should be able to see all the patterns on the left side of the window.

    • @rogierdalsemvan8204
      @rogierdalsemvan8204 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ProductionDen Thank you very much for your quick response. Is it possible to change the instrument after you've created a new pattern?
      So when I've played some midi notes into a pattern I would like to send it to another (or several) vst instruments in the channelrack.

    • @Jammonstrald
      @Jammonstrald 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rogierdalsemvan8204 I'm not sure if you ever figured this out, as it is not the most intuitive process, but for you or anyone who is looking for this answer, this is possible.
      In the channel rack, you can click on the small rectangular notch to the right of the big block containing the channel's name. The thing you are looking for sits between the channel name, and the first notch in the step sequencer section. When you click on this, it selects that channel's information (whatever you have put into the step sequencer or the piano roll). Then use the menu Edit>Cut/Copy ("cut" will delete information away from the currently selected channel, "copy" simply copies it without the deletion). Then you click on a different channel notch next to whichever channel you want to transfer the beat/pattern to (second instance of a synth, a new sample, etc) and use the menu Edit>Paste. This will then put the information you originally copied onto the newly selected channel. You can do this as many times as you wish onto different channels.
      You can also do this on multiple channels at a time by holding shift and selecting the channel notches. Each channel selected will make its respective notch highlight green, which means copied/pasted content will affect those channels. When copy/pasting information from and to multiple channels, the top-down order is preserved; so whatever you copy that is at the top of your selected channels, that will be pasted at the top of your newly selected channels and so on.
      It is much quicker to use the keyboard shortcuts, but use the menu to familiarize yourself with the flow of the operations first. Once you feel comfortable with the process, you can use the typical copy/paste shortcuts (ctrl+c to copy, ctrl+x to cut, ctrl+v to paste).

    Could it be possible to record several different patterns and that these remain in the sequence in order to choose which one will sound or will I leave it definitive? something like audio loop recording but with patterns

    • @ProductionDen
      @ProductionDen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can loop when you record midi. And it has a few options. It will either completely overwrite what you have done, or it will add to it. It doesn’t have a way that I know of to have multiple versions on one take.
      There is a way to capture all those takes in a sequence. There is an option up in the macros section that allows you to dump to piano roll the things you have played for a period of time. There you should see everything you played in sequence.

    • @ProductionDen
      @ProductionDen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you create a new pattern, it's like making a new page.
      If you go into your playlist window (F5) you should see pattern 1 on the left side. This would be your drum pattern. Then pattern 2, your new pattern, would be your guitar.
      If you lay them both down on the grid, you will be able to hear your drums and your guitar at the same time.

      Then you can open the piano roll for the new instrument and edit out the notes you don't want.
