    This is super interesting. 26m radius, 42.5m boom length: the crane is almost a ton weaker (7t) than at the same radius with either 41.2m boom or 45m boom (7.9t each). Why is that? I'd have guessed that, fixing the radius, the longer the boom the weaker it is but apparently this is not always the case.

      Well spotted. I did the vid and I didn't even pick up on that. Because I'm not used to mobile crane charts, I wasn't sure of the reason for this, so I asked an expert.
      He said different boom lengths and configurations might have varied strength & weight abilities/limitations.
      How the boom is configured at that point might not be as strong. Or it might put the centre of gravity further out, which could affect stability.
      It's weird though isn't it?
