So umm… my phantom broke again. This time I have to pay a fee to get it repaired.
I want to clear things up PLEASE READ:
For those who said "JUST USE THE SPACEBAR!" at 0:08, are u deaf? I said the demonstration was an example. The defective mouse switches affected me when I'm editing videos, exiting programs, and playing games because of the annoying double clicks.
I don't use the Starlight to mainly play Minecraft. I play other games. The reason why I didn't show other gameplay is that I don't have good clips to show and Minecraft is the only chill game as background.
"BUY A DIFFERENT MOUSE!" The phantom cost me $200. You think I'm rich? I had to use my TH-cam revenue to cop it. I still like the mouse.
It's not ideal to buy from resellers because you won't be getting the Finalmouse Warranty benefits unless you ask the reseller for the Order Number. Finalmouse is already making more Starlights and there will be improvements so what's the point of buying off from a reseller. If you're able to find a Starlight SLIGHTLY higher than MSRP like $220 then I think it's worth it.

I got Finalmouse warranty benefits despite buying from a reseller who didn't give me an order number. I had an issue with my Ultralight 2 (where the sensor spazzed out every so often) a year after buying it and they gave me a new one.
Though, I'm not sure whether things have changed and I guess it doesn't matter for the reason mentioned (the fact that they're making new colourways somewhat regularly)..
The fact that you need to play QC/QA roulette is beyond braindead regardless.
Any chance you can lmk how you got your starlight 12, did you buy it off the launch or from ebay or something?
@@gabezepeda9976 I was able to get it on launch day. Imo it's really easy to cop it, you just have to stay focus.
Unlucky my finalmouse starlight 12 only had the scroll wheel ticking which I didn't mind could barely hear it when playing games
Yeah I loved the starlight for the first few months I was using it and only the scroll wheel was a major issue during some browsing and rarely in my work but the double clicking had got so bad to where it would happen several times in a row, yes it's handy for prefiring people on fortnite at the same time as trying to place builds but for any desktop or precise work that requires a single click it's not ideal at all. I've gone back to my original Ultralight phantom and not sure what to do to be honest. I bought both a medium and a small but the small doesn't really fit me so is more of an art piece and I don't need two mice for that purpose. I'm in the UK so not sure if RMA is really a serious option and don't think I have the experience to fix it myself but I may have no options
Contact Finalmouse support and see what options they can offer. I think they'll give you an RMA.
I’m not sure if you know, but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to double click. Don’t click the mouse button with your whole finger if you don’t want to double click. I don’t have a final mouse but on most mice, the double click is because of low debounce time

I have had the same exact experience as you. Mine was with the OG Achilles model. It was sent back to me with no change. The left click was super hard to click and didn’t debounce quickly. It has scroll wheel clicky issues as well….
That's a shame. You could ask if they did something to it.

The reason why the scroll wheel is not in the middle, because the plastic wheel was not in symmetry calculated after the heating process...

you have to understand double clicking to actually fix it, double clicking is from mouse switch, they're not gonna chage the omeron switches (if they exist still) if not then its a firmware update, they're not gonna update yours and leave everyone else so yea
watching content on starlights just makes me happier with my cheap xm1r instead of wanting a starlight

@@nexumg7155 I actually just RMA'd my viper 8khz so i'll be using the new one when it comes in. There is a noticable difference between 1khz and 8khz and i can't go back lol
What texture pack is thiss ? ?
sometimes its not the switches it is the body for example when u slam a drum it vibrates bc the body is metal
im p sure the reason is the switches, if you can change the debounce to 12ms then it won't double click
8ms works for me with kailhs, 4ms is probably safe to but I don't notice a difference between 2ms and 8ms.
do you still get watchdog violations on your Lenovo I'm actually replacing the motherboard as it's causing them which i'll have to buy a new case and cpu cooler because of the motherboard they used.
I turned off the onboard audio and I'm not getting anymore bsods
I have had the same double clicking problem on my model o but I think it’s due to me using it too much 🙂
yk u can change the debounce time i dont know but it might help just set it to max or liwk 10ms

i dont understnad the thing about omg it doubleclicks i cant pause the video. like u have to try pretty hard to double click. like u have to kinda slam ur finger onto the mouse button and make it bounce. its easy as hell to not double click

I have the same dpi button issue with my Ultralight 2.... I find the fact that they haven't fixed this issue years later hilarious.
...wish a company could just make a consistently good mouse with a similar shape.

Try to change the debounce time when using it normally it will solve the problem(maybe)

built in pop filter isnt that effective. I also spit in the mic so it's really useful to have one.

I have seen the Finalmouse price and I've haven't looked into it because how badly it holds up in my research. (but it is still good mouse but it is out of stock) This is my opinion.

Got the same issues with my finalmouse pegasus, sent it twice for a repair but decided not to send it 3rd time and just refund.. sad feeling, but the customer support was great

Finalmouse is possibly the worst company when it comes to repairs. I have the ares, phantom, and poseidon. When i got my phantom in, the left click was completely stuck and the mouse would not connect to my computer at all. The wireless functionality was not working and they told me to send it in to be fixed. It took about 2 weeks and once i got it back, the left click was fixed, but my mouse still would not connect AND they forgot to replace my mouse feet (sent it back with no mouse feet on). I contacted them again, but this time, the thread for responses took about 3 weeks instead of 1 like the first time. I was extremely upset as they were also going to make me pay for the repair but i told them what happened and they finally fixed it. I wish i looked at the number as they might have just sent me a replacement as well. but i do know they are a horrible company when it comes to repairs.
mine is still fine and has no issues 6 months later i guess its your mouse unlucky
My starlight has similar issues and I have heard of many others with the same issues. Really a top tier mouse on paper but the QC is going to be the death of finalmeme and that's coming from someone who's owned fianlmouse products since the Ergo and Scream One days.

This is a good gaming mouse for regular people who play games, but want a mouse that looks amazing. But... if you need a mouse for actual professional levels of play, you'll need to look elsewhere. It's extremely light and that's definitely an advantage, but it seems to have some quality consistency issues and how good your mouse will be and hold up is moreso dependant on the luck of the draw.

Im getting a new mouse next month, planning to make a switch from wired to wireless, max budget is 100 bucks, can you suggest any good lightweight mouse? Not looking for a GPX Superlight or a RVU btw, i've seen them and they can go for really expensive where I live.

Bro just get a viper v2 pro or an xm2w because these mice are made by actual brands that dont have a history of bad qc, endgame gear literally has perfect qc and razer since is a huge brand, it will have oretty good qc

The mouse feels so nice and light imo. I recommend getting it at MSRP. Don't buy it from resellers it just doesn't make sense.

Just a personal opinion but your doubeclicking issue may be because of how you click your mousebutton, if you "slap" it would cause a double click
I "slapped" the left click in the video on purpose to demonstrate because I was using a replacement. My previous phantom had the double clicking due to defective switches.
yeah I could make a ton of the various mice I own to double click like this but the starlight phantom actually does it when you're just regularly clicking and so I've gone back to the regular ultralight which just had a middle mouse button that double clicks rarely
It seems they need to invest more in quality control, stories like this put me off buying one since they got to ship to the UK and it would take months to come back 😂😂

I can easily but after adding grip tape I find it a little difficult because of the increase width.

every mouse iv bought from finalmouse since the sunset, ( i bought every drop ) has had these same issues. i had to RMA them all and they all come back with similar issues i have given up on finalmouse will not be purchasing the Poseidon.

Same old final mouse seems like, i had the scream one when it first came out,bad quality and issues with the mouse. Final mouse is just over priced garbage, logitech g pro superlight is the way to go.

@@xFlame_ of course I don’t know your financial situation but. Personally I much prefer buying your run of the kill mill board from Amazon, Newegg, etc.. and then doing some quality mods too it. It takes time but overall you’ll be proud of it and you get to do it how you want. As with anything custom. I have a dierya dk61e for Amazon with reds. And I’ve lubed them all with custom keycaps. I’m going to foam the case and eventually do a holy mod. I’d prefer this keyboard as it is to a ducky or an Anne pro. And eventually I’d will be much better. Not only better but cheaper too. Another thing you can do is new switches, which completely change the feeling and sound of the board. Of course you may not know how to mod keyboards but in my eyes it’s worth it. 👍👍 good luck
bruh I play valorant and I've had my starlight for a long time (i bought it on first release) and it didnt have any problems at all. so maybe dont abuse ur mouse and it will be fine.

In my own opinion although it is the lightest mouse on the market. Its severely overrated for what it is like paying for 300 dollars for a mouse or more for the accessories in the box to be a bit cheap and 20 Omron's not saying those switches are bad. and Jank qc the mouse feels under whelming for the price and the limited stock.
It's 189+shipping and starting from the phantom it has gm8. Btw 20m OF japanese omrons are one of the best switches on the market in the right mouse (different shells/button construction sound/feel better with particular switches). Not defending fm, just providing some facts.

the material is what's making it double click and making it lighter. for bflyers its very very good, but for jitterclickers its not the best but I feel like It shouldn't affect any clicking method unless you slam the mouse
