He performed this song with his whole heart! I get what you are saying. Children’s brains are not developed but, if you don’t experience it, you don’t know just like I don’t know. As a mother, I can only imagine what his Mom went through. I feel sorry for anyone that doesn’t feel like they don’t belong because I was that kid but for different reasons. I’ve got a son that feels the same way and it’s hard!

When my nephew was 2 everyone in the family knew he was gay, when he was 6 he knew he was gay as well. He was 12 when he came out and the whole family told him that we know and we still love you. Don't judge until you walk in a person's shoes.

@@lindavickers5707 No he didn't. At 2, and 5-7 there is no sexual attraction possible in human biology, unless precocious puberty has occured (very rare at 5-7 and impossible at 2). At younger ages any expression in regards to orientation is a product of your upbringing\environment, and not biological dictate. Upbringing\environment will influence how you express yourself sexually once puberty occurs. He simply queried. Is this something that only gay people experience as toddlers I wonder? When I was a child of 2 or 3 I didn't KNOW I was "hetero". I didn't think of myself or anyone else in those terms. I equally liked boys and girls. I wasn't leaning to one over the other. Small children are usually very fluid in their interests in each other. It is called curiosity, being curious of ourselves and others.
I think families start labeling children because of how they act and the things they do.
A boy who is sensitive and leans more towards his mother is thought to be "soft" or "has girly tendencies" simply because he mimics his Mama by trying to dress like her or wear make up or walk in her heels. This is something MOST boys grow out of IF their families don't start pidgeonholing them into wearing a label when they are too young to have even developed mentally or emotionally. They simply "mimic". The same as a girl who leans towards her father in her interests, she (whether she is a Mommy's girl or daddy's girl )may be interested in sports or cars. It doesn't mean she has sealed herself into a sexuality of gay or straight. She may just like these things. They are just different from the "norm". Adults end up labeling them and they fall into those labels, in my humble opinion.
I don't feel any child is definitively sure that they are one way or another until they hit puberty and I still feel that most of that is environmental or maybe even psychological for the MOST part.
Don't let anyone keep you from asking questions that can broaden your understanding of a subject. I am much older than you and still confused by these claims.

It happens to different people at different ages. We all look back on our past and can remember seeing a TV show, or a movie from back then and thinking "oh that person is cute."

I'm a huge fan of BJC and just saw your video. I wanted to answer your question about how a 6 or 7 year old can know they are gay. I'm an old gay man, so, I can speak from experience. It's the same way that a straight person knows they are straight when they are 6 or 7. I had major crushes on certain boys... "Peter Brady", "Chris Partridge", Johnny Whittaker, Rodney Allen Rippy, Donny Osmond, and a few more... at that age. In the same way that my straight friends had crushes on "Marsha Brady", "Laurie Partridge", Marie Osmond, and a few more. I also had crushes on some of my school mates who were boys. In the same way, my straight friends had crushes on the girls. It may not be defined as such pre-pubescent, but, it is the same. It's just a natural thing that happens and shows itself in early development.

@@cynthiacharpentier662 When little boys chase little girls or pull their pig tails, no one has any trouble accepting that they are straight. We know we aren't straight the same way. I always wanted to chase the other girls and touch their hair. It was very very simple just by your preferences of who you wanted to be close to.
