    A lot of disappointment but truth be told no surprise, with some positive signs as well.

    This is a comment I left on another video but here it is again as You lads are on the same wavelength as myself: "Exact same sentiment here but honestly the satisfaction with the status quo lies squarely with those over the age of 60, those who have ridden the gravy train and of coarse been bought off with false promises, exaggerated claims and the slight increase in the pension and state allowances in general. What I don't understand is that the same age cohort that votes to support the status quo have children, many even have grandchildren at this stage. Do they honestly think that this country is set up in good shape for them? Do they even think about casting votes in those terms? The answer may be no as they are the same age cohort that watch RTE, read the establishment press and so forth. Now it really is therefore up to those under the age of 40 to vote really against the OAP block at this stage every person under the age of 40 must become an appreciable political block in this country or they will not be actually appreciated in any sense. This government works only for GAA, RTE and the OAP until those under 40 become a force to be appreciated then nothing will change short of Ireland being conquered by the Chinese."

    • @thisdrinkinglife
      @thisdrinkinglife  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Thanks for the comment, I fully agree with all that. Conditioned to the hilt, even if they have kids, they cant break that habit - like a crackhead - the pen will keep on ticking the box of ff/fg - Thankfully, for better or for worse, the under 40s are less influenced by RTE, etc ....

    • @MuonRay
      @MuonRay 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@thisdrinkinglife You're analysis, which is rooted in very good common sense will be reinforced I think when we see more young people just exit the country after the consequences of what can at best be called neglect and piss-poor future proofing of the country will come to pass. The country, at least in Dublin, is totally captured by a corporate cabal but it gives no excuse for rural constituencies voting lock step for the establishment. Very short memories. The crackhead analogy is spot-on, its a totally captured mindset and the political class know it. They know the blind slavish loyalty to the GAA, RTE and dinosaur press is real, more real than the loyalty to the church at this point because, in typical Irish fashion, it requires the least amount of effort to change. Ireland's radical edge really was nipped in the bud very early after the foundations of the state and even then it was just a few brave people who went against the grain. A word of advice to any revolutionaries in Ireland, don't forget that it took very international thinking people to effect change here and they were not the type to be bought off by local creature comforts. They had to travel and so will those who want to really effect change here. The well-educated young exiting this country is an inevitable natural law at this point. I did it and came back better for it and sad to say I'll be doing it again before this decade is out.

    You lads just won't make the jump to what's obvious; the Irish can't handle democracy at all, when it comes to their own interests. The amount of time it will take our country to filter out the last of the biddy-boomer ilk...and shift the voting power towards the younger generations behind them...will take far too long, and the country will be long gone by then, demographically, ideologically and in terms of political will.
    Our generation has youth on our side, and with youth, comes vigor and vitality. The very elements needed for an uprising, and I don't mean a democratic one. We need to start THAT conversation. But nobody wants to abandon the tried and tested format of failure, still clinging on to a process that will never allow our people take power through the ballot box.

    I know you are frustrated, but unless you tone down the sarcasm, condescension and the language ( blaspheming), you will lose a lot of people. We have all been on a journey for a few years to figger things out. Sadly new arrivals were illegally given the vote and voted to perpetuate FF/FG /SF / Green etc. Independents and nationalist parties were too many and split the vote.

      @thisdrinkinglife  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Thanks for the comment Fionnola - but thats how we roll - the name of the channel gives us leeway to do that, we dont take ourselves too seriously (nor should anyone either) and we are not here to influence or win anyone - its observations which one can take or leave - but I appreciate the comment.
      As we said - yes illegals were given the vote which was totally undemocratic - but the Euro results show that the Irish and their voting intentions are a far bigger problem IMHO.
