I love them old cabovers my daddy was in the trucking business for over 38 years and through the late 60s 70s and 80s all we had was Cabover’s and then everybody was going to conventional cabs and daddy finally bought one. It was a extended hood Peterbilt 1983 model. He had eight trucks on the road seven Cabover’s one conventional cab and he always kept a spare truck in case someone broke down and it was another Cabover
I don't think it looks busy, I think it looks so simple and extremely clean and well built. I love those cab overs.

I drove cabovers from 1977 to 1999 no power steering no ac. no Heather I was lucky to be alive those years the first conventional was una petra 425 🐈 twin stick 4/5 411 rear ends 280 well base
thanks man, love those cabover's, 70 yr old retired carpenter, who always wanted to be behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler, was going to buy a new 1985 International was sitting in it, call the contractor I was working for to see if he could float me a loan, "get your ass back in your pick up and get back here to the office" not quite what I was expecting, still love hearing those cats purr

Mr. Leroy? Your personal truck is ABSOLUTELY WICKED!!!! My Dad had a cabover Frieghtliner in white and everyday he gets home and all the kids and my friends went nuts to see it? And of course my dad would honk the train type horn! We loved it! Thanks for sharing this it brought me so many memories....

one thing's for sure the roads in America are deteriorating rapidly extremely rough some of these potholes and bridge plates and construction zones will send shock waves through your truck frame you got to have good quality brackets like that or they will break and that is a fact.

Man, love me a nice cabover, and his definitely fits that bill. My dad drove a Freightliner years ago and I've always had a fondness for them to this day.
Their the best looking of all cab overs, for some reason the GMC cabovers were my second favorite!
That is so sweet and smooth love the way you treated it when you started it !! You didn't floor it and jake it down easy idle start about 1200 revs couple times and shut it down nice . I see so many start and rev the life out of it and jake it down. Your humble man nice cabin over

Totally Awesome! You my friend have excellent taste in what looks good when it comes trucks. Love what you did with the stacks and air cleaner plumbing and the bracket to brace them, plus the way you faired it in and added the lights to it. Just enough chrome and aluminum to set it all off and great color choice. Keep up the great work!!!!

Pretty truck , I used to have an 89' built in the Burnaby B.C. plant just before NAFTA and Mercedes Benz Closed it down ,if you can keep your tractor that sparkling you have way too much free time 😅

It wouldn't be no harder than doing it with a conventional tractor. It looks long, but the wheelbase is about the same as a conventional.
@@davidtheriot7404 I've been to some docks where conventional trucks are damn near rubbing mirrors. I just wouldn't want to damage such a prize by giving other drivers the opportunity.

This right here, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and looking for a legal option to carry/possess defense firearms inside the truck when going through sketchy areas across the 48.
Being that we live in a republic made up of separate states, that is going to be up to the states themselves. There are federal laws governing firearms ownership, but none of them usurp state laws as you pass through their borders. I am not a truck driver, but I do travel with a firearm, and I stick to states that have carry reciprocity with the one I reside in, and do not spend any money in ones that do not share the same ideas on personal defense. That's not always doable as a driver who takes work where he/she can get it, but that is the reality of the complex makeup of our country. And it absolutely hould be this way. People in New York and California should have zero say on what we do down in Texas or Mississippi. One size fits all legal systems ignore the needs of different areas and give all the power to the highest concentrations of people.
