What an adventure! My advice if you visit at this time of year is wear shorts and just wade through the water! I started from the pay and display car park at Over Haddon which is just south of Bakewell in Derbyshire. We head down into the valley for a run beside the river Lathkill in Lathkill Dale. The river is a winterbourne stream that dries up in places in the summer but right now in December/January it's in full flow, at this time of year water rises from sink holes near Over Haddon creating pools of crystal clear water. Lathkill Dale is a stunning Limestone valley with weirs and waterfalls and of course being limestone a cave system that can only be explored in the summer when the river dries up. I ran up the valley, then crossed the bridge and headed left up the steps and over the fields to Low Moor Wood and on to Back lane heading left down the hill towards Youlgreave and then the path over the fields and through the farm back to the river and over the bridge where we started. I can highly recommend this one, its beautiful
