The most important improvement in newer one as far as I can see by eyes is line guide pulled inside. I need to try it to be certain. Because in old model I had issues with line getting over the line guide. It was big issue for me when I was fishing with limber lines, so it forced me to use 4lb fluorocarbon to minimize it.
im getting it but i dont mind the wait since i have a 22 AL BFS already.. same thing but in low profile but i love round reels.. once i get this reel ill be set for a long time...i only fish this on bay and salt

I can't wait for you to get your hands on it. I was going to go for 2022 Aldebaran since I didn't like the current conquest bfs ratio(buyers regret), there is a few times when the fish swam towards me and out run my reeling and got the hook off (barbless hook). Please do make a comparison between aldebaran bfs 2022 and the conquest bfs 2023 when you get your hands on it.
Shimano have done it again. We all thought the 22 Aldebaran wasn’t going to be worth the upgrade from the 16, and they proved that they always make improvements on previous models. I have no use for this reel but I still want one.
My favorite TH-camr is there a bfs spool for the curado 200 dc
I still plan on getting one, but dissapointed with the Tier 2 gearing... is the HG aluminum aswell?

I just got the Conquest BFS yesterday.
Can you confirm for me please, the magnetic brake dial; is it suppose to click or not click. I know the star drag and spool tension knob clicks. That's odd that the magentic brake dial doesn't click to show/feel the braking is to get stronger.
Probably going to get this reel, I need one for Striper fishing
should be fun on a striper.. i use my shimano aldabaran 22 for fat salt sand bass calico and spottie ocean only ..might get this reel had a dc200 love round reels..ill likley end up selling my al 22 reel since i only like to use one rod reel ..ill be set for a long time wont have to buy again..i have it paired with my ML BFS expride
Maybe Aluminum gears need to be bigger than brass gears as a practical consideration due to metal strength.
correct ...i have a 22 BFS shimano ALDEBARAN has the same sliver aluminum gear and its very light ..i use mine for salt bass and other salt fish only..
Disappointed about the aluminum gears but I’m still getting one.
Interesting the courser gearing but the gear also looked a wider diameter, does this make the larger tooth feel the same as a finer tooth at a smaller diameter?
I wonder what the delay is now, I haven't seen anything about it yet. I'm just waiting for digitaka to have an hg right hand in stock
Very sad this reel got delayed a bit. I want the right hand HG, been saving the old fishing fund just for it. The aluminum gears scared me a bit at first, not now though. I assume the BFS and 100HG (2021) share frame size? I'd be tempted to buy another 100HG and just get the Aldebaran for my BFS fix.
Have you seen where people are taking the old Abu ambassador 2500 and hot roding it for BFS
I wonder if you could do it with the old black max 1600 !?

Is the avail micrcast for the curado 200i or scorpion 200 citica 200 the same size as the curado 200dc will it fit into the frame please let me know the shallow bfs avail spool
If you buy one. Please let us know if we can use the xg new gear for the old 17 bfs model. Seem cheaper than buy the whole things for me.
Different size of main gear => i think its impossible to swap
U never know until you try right. Coz the higher the ratio. There gonna bigger drive gear and smaller pinion gear. Even in same model reel. I just wanna know the new bigger drive gear can be fit in old model gear box or dont.
can this reel come out already…im ready to eat top ramen noodles for a month.
So which do I get Antares or Conquest. I went to a fishing show and they recommended a Metanium for a NRX+ rod for jigging. They told me the Antares was too heavy and the balance would be bad. Help.

Shimano got cheap with a lot of their reels ! Going to start buying Garcia or Daiwa reels from now on I've seen to much plastic even screws in a 250.reel .
This happening in spinning reels to, at least, since 2013.
Not one single real improvement....
