My God, I love this performance by Karrin so much! What a true artist and interpreter of great music! Like Nina Simone, she puts a spell on me with every big of music she performs. I am addicted to her voice and her gift! Outstanding!!!!
Well, you have to remember that Webb wrote it almost four decades ago and there were many pop artists that covered it since. She was simply giving credit to everyone who performed the song. Realistically, if something similar happened back in the forties, they would start calling it a standard, and according to Wikipedia, it is now considered a standard. It’s not meant to be offensive, but inclusive of how the song itself has grown/continued over that time period. Having said all that, I do feel like Webb himself preforms the song the best out of any artist that’s covered it.
One of my favorite Jimmy Webb songs sung by one of my favorite artists.
Good one. Thank you! Best one is of course from "Radka Toneff"- no question about it.
Lovely interpretation of this evocative tune composed by Jimmy Webb.
Wow what an incredible rendition!!!

This is one of the best covers. Outstanding job with the emotion this song deserves👏👏👏👏
Great show. Awesome girl.
Her interpretation of this is great
Beautiful - one of my favorite songs - you did good - making it your own - thank you, Karrin (and band)
One of the most beautiful song ever written contemporary and beautifully rendered. Try Radka Toneff version, her simplicity and purity that hurt...
One word will do; Fabulous!!
Stunning version
Just love her voice - so smokey and evocative of a late night jazz club.
Beautiful BEAUTIFUL
Oh wow! Have been following Karrin for some years now (and the moon too) and this is SOME song!
Thank you so much for posting.
Goosebumps from here to Timbouctou...
magnifique ... my favorite version ...
great rendition of that song
Very nice, so emotional
Karrin Allyson and Nils Landgren do the best interpretations of this great song.
Do you know the version of Grażyna Auguscik?
@@robertswistelnickimusic8824 Thanks,I'll check it out.
Beautiful.
Beautiful. Also love Pat Metheny & Charlie Hayden version from the album "Under the Missouri Sky"
Amazing!
wow just wow
How is it I've never heard of this song? But then there are so many no one can ever "track" them all down. Wryly Coyote
+Tom Anderson It's a great song by Jimmy Webb. I especially love Linda Ronstadt, Judy Collins and Joe Cocker's covers.
+Tom Anderson Judy Collins does a version of this . Thats how I first heard it years ago.
@@steverollins5667 same here, back in 1984 myself, at the age of 18, it fascinated me
très sensible ... à la Radka Toneff ... super !
Jimmy Webb composition.
Why I surf the TH-cam ether - this , this
Scintillating
Odd that she doesn’t mention the composer, Jimmy Webb.
"...an American pop song..." - she couldn't say Webb wrote it? No excuse for that. But nice performance. By some American singer...
Agree with both points...

Brilliant
She's amazing. She can really interpret a lyric--which is interesting considering she's primarily a jazz singer.
Jazz singers can't interpret lyrics? Ever listen to Billie Holiday?
Johnboy S Yes. She's another exception.
Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O'day, Jimmy Scott and many more...
