    Thank you so much for sharing this video! On top of the seamless transitions and easy-to-follow visual on how to install and use the item. Im about to purchase a dutch bike with a similar lock pre-installed and wondered how it was supposed to be used, so this video was great. Can't wait to feel the breeze in my hair as I cycle in the city parks. 😊

    Thanks for this video. I have a Cube Kathmandu SLX 750 2024, I just bought a 6950M Abus frame lock, and I wanted to see how this installation would work for me.
    Seeing as your combination is very similar to mine, this was very helpful. Thanks again.

    with this locking it'll take around 3-5 min, to unscrew the front wheel, since you have a quick release and then load a bike to the car. Looping the chain against the pole, then passing it through the front wheel could fix this, but this chain is not long enough for this.

    I'm 99% sure the purpose of a Cafe lock isn't for any real security. It's just a small deterrent for when you need to take a quick stop to enter your house incase you forgot something or entering a shop or a Cafe

    Thank you. I’ve just bought a bike with an Abus frame lock. Am thinking of strengthening it with this chain. My question please: what length did you go for, and what are your thoughts on the most practical length?

    • @e-BikeLife
      @e-BikeLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’ve got the 130cm, about 4 ft or so. Wish it was longer sometimes.

    Great video but wouldn't it be better at the end to loop the chain around the imoveable object, then the front tyre and then into the lock. Looks like you could pop the front wheel out pass it through the rack and carry the bike away. If it was looped round the rack first the lock, chain or post would need to be broked to get the bike.

    • @e-BikeLife
      @e-BikeLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      In deed. This video doesn't show that I also use two other locks. 4 in total. A Fahgedaboutit chain, and an another Abus product that lock the bike to the rack or what ever. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

    Are you using is the 100cm chain length? Are you still happy with the Abus frame lock and chain? My husband and I are considering getting this setup for our bikes but can’t find too many reviews for this type of frame lock from Abus.

    • @e-BikeLife
      @e-BikeLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I am. I am happy with it, but I do not use them solely. I also use an Abus Bordo folding alarm lock. I made a video about that lock as well.

      Thanks! I’m really happy with it. And, I didn’t get as much as wanted. But, that’s the way it goes. It was last November and I don’t even remember what I finally sold it for.

    Excellent information! Thanks for sharing it. I have the same bike and am interested in a café lock as well. How did you manage to get the lock and bike both using the same key?

    • @e-BikeLife
      @e-BikeLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The shop where I bought the bike ordered the lock. Abus can do it too using the key number. I don’t know the exact process, but have seen it on the Abus site.

    Recommend THREE locks for an expensive e-bike. The third would connect the bike frame to the Giant U-bike holder. This makes stealing this bike not worth the effort and risk.

      Though it wasn’t part of this video, I use 4 locks for my ebike.

    Would this fit on a 4 inch tire on a fat bike? What's the actual inner width? Thanks

    • @e-BikeLife
      @e-BikeLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m sorry Daniel, I don’t have a fat tire bike any more so I can’t answer with any assurance that I was giving you the correct answer.

    • @mucalo1
      @mucalo1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it doesn’t cross over the tire, air is released from the tire and then inflated, of course

  • @TheDigitalFlight

    Nice lock but I would prefer it to have hex security bolts in it. Just to make it that much harder for them too remove the lock from the forks

    • @e-BikeLife
      @e-BikeLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Am looking at the Hex system too.

    • @TheDigitalFlight
      @TheDigitalFlight 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@e-BikeLife I think these types of bolts are a great idea as you need a special hex key to undo them 🙂.

    • @rowanlucas8183
      @rowanlucas8183 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      on the back, you can't remove the wheel from the forks if the lock is attached - the lock is quite easily picked, and even security hex bolts can be slotted and removed with a screwdriver - these are an additional deterant that's not suited to being the main lock
