Lots of tricksy stuff you can do at instant speed as well, plus Ripley counts towards your 3 spell requirement. You can hold up a 3rd spell during combat to influence blocks, cast quick before a board wipe or spot removal trigger, etc. People won’t realize how good it is until you play it as a commander. Plus it’s great in Feather as a win con
Crown of Flames seems really good for Rippley. Can use it to knock out 2/3 spells cast, then dump red mana into it to pump her more before casting the final spell.
For Vance, I recommend Haze of Rage. It takes 12 mana to fully utilize it (although Ruby Medallion, which you should defs be using, reduces that to 9), but lets you trigger Vance every turn and synergizes with her to boot.
Great cards that can work with Ripley (I think) can also be Invoke Calamity (a lot of the time is gonna allow you to cast 3 spells for the cost of one), Underworld Breach can let you recast some spells on the graveyard, i also think that cards like Birgi, Chandra Dressed to Kill and Runaway Steam-Kin can give you extra mana you might need to cast some spells.
A bit expensive but Commander's Plate is real good for Tivash. Protection to keep him alive and get through in combat for the lifegain and pumps his power to the 7 sweet spot
Tivash is also a great budget deck. I have a $25 one that consistently draws cards and pumps out 15/15 flyers, I was surprised he wasn’t more popular when I saw him
I have an underwhelming commander for you! Tajic, Blade of the Legion. 2WR, 2/2 Indestructible creature. When he and at least 2 other creatures attack, he gets +5/+5 until EoT. I started playing magic around that time and my first ever deck was a Boros heroic deck. So when I started EDH I used Tajic as my first ever EDH deck. I would love to see how you would build it for nostalgia!
Hope you didn't forget Invoke Calamity and Finale of Promise in your Captain Riplay Vance list. Both are 3 spell casts on their own and also pretty solid cards considering how spell heavy the list would be.
Here are other legendary lands you can easily donate to opponents without benefitting them very much: Geier Reach Sanitarium, Gemstone Caverns, Untaidake, the Cloud Keeper.
ripley is one of the first commander decks i built so im glad that she's getting some love also for a bit of extra power you can take advantage of cards that give you're attacking creatures extra power until end of turn or give you extra power when you head to combat phase until end of turn; then just use your instants as normal & trigger huge damage i think the highest i've hit for was 26 on turn 5 so far

Tivash is a cool commander, but he really needed to be worded like the new Shanna with "where X is up to the amount of life you gained this turn." Then you'd have that needed control the effect needs to truly shine.
I must disagree with Captain Ripley Vance with being underwhelming. I took mine apart due to being not very interactive. With all the rummage spells, rituals, retrace, flashback, cheap equipment that buffs power and artifact rocks/artifacts that search for lands and put in hand, all you do is just pace yourself and explode and dome people. Throes of Chaos is by far the best spell for this deck, second being flame jab.
I was thinking about Gadwick or Queza for a draw based deck, I hope I can get to see his build on the next video 🔮✨🧙 I really like to play with underwhelming commanders, love this series. I have: Fain, the Broker / Xira Arien / Kurbis, Harvest Celebrant / Katsumasa, the Animator / Rubinia Soulsinger
The way you talked about land walk would have been very misleading to someone who didn’t already know what it is. You consistently stated that if an opponent controls a land of that type, your creature becomes unblockable, which is not true. It just can’t be blocked by that one opponent. The fact it only applies if the defending player has that land is something you fail to mention.
The reason you haven’t been seeing twilight prophet is because until recently it was like $30 which is way too much for it’s power
Like everything else over a dollar, proxy it for a dime and move on with your life.

You can also put buyback into the captain Ripley Vance
Cosmos elixir works very similarly to tivash in a lathiel deck. Had to work this interaction out a few times.

Agree. My Cpt Ripley Deck is in my top 3 Competetive ones. She just deals so much dmg without that much work really.
My Captain Ripley Vance historic brawl deck is a silly pile of 1 or less mana tribal. Haste creatures, pump spells/equipment, and burn.
