Watching this well filmed video at home here in Australia. I must say that I am envious of all the various well run and operated railway preservation societies in the UK. I am in my early 60's now and I hope to visit before I get too old to enjoy it, well done.
What a great video, really enjoyed that! How people complained about two such good looking locos (even if 'joking'!) is beyond me - loved the 37 and 78022 with that matching rake of coaches looks superb! Really nicely kept railway too!
That wasn’t even the worst of it, went to pick up a shunter after this and that broke down as well. Think I’m cursed! Thanks for capturing, was a memorable day!
Great video featuring locations that I've not often seen. The coaching stock looks very presentable too. I went on a well known line some weeks ago and the stock was so tired and run down, it spoilt it for me. Maybe it's a shortage of volunteers, I don't know..
Thank you for watching! That's strange, maybe it depends of which coaching stock they were using or maybe my camera doesn't pick out any rust and dirt.
Delightful watch - nicely filmed and presented. I haven't been on the line since the early 80's and health precludes visiting (we're in Dorset) but I'm delighted to be a member and supporter. Thanks to lovely videos like this I can still enjoy it. Thankyou!
Great video living close by Bradford i visot fairly often never heard someone complain about the steam loco running usually the pacer when its running remember the first time i went to see the pacer in action and someone said it was "a waste of money that could of being used to restore the mallard"
Thank you for watching and glad you like it. Not sure where you think I'm saying a "loco is a train" as that's something that annoys me when I hear people calling a loco a train!
hi, great video, well done to the 37 for rescuing the loco, what was wrong with the confounded thing, ? what would Mr Perks make of a diesel going through his station ?
Not sure if you're implying I'm complaining but I'm certainly not. I had a Rover Ticket and I enjoyed the day, despite how it turned out not going to plan. I know a few normals were demanding their money back that day.
@@HenrysAdventures the moaner whinging about what was running. They do not appreciate the work that goes in to running events, which are getting harder to organise, especially as coal is getting very hard to source, and what they can get is expensive and poor quality. Soon all the steamers will end up as static exhibits unless they can be made to run on biomass. The sad truth is to some so called enthusiasts, they only want kettles, anything post 1960 is rancid to them. It is the same with bus preservation, if it isn’t some old half an, it should not exist to those muppets
@@martinbalmforth2665 What you say might be true for a very small minority of cranks. Most of today's cranks are more interested in diesels and electrics.

I loved this video. It gave good detail and the angles were different from others I have seen. Well done!
Thank you very much!

Nice video, I visited here a few months ago with my now sadly departed cousin and have happy memories of the railway. Thanks for posting!

Super video!!! 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you! :)
That final departure, that's what a steam locomotive should sound like, great audio.
You beat me to it - that is a glorious sound. Shame we can't have the smell on TH-cam too!
Thank you very much for showing it!.
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
A good portrait of a lovely line. Thanks!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
That little 2-6-0 has a great sounding exhaust beat.
Really good coverage of a wonderful line
Thank you very much!
That was really interesting ... well done :)

Really enjoyed watching this video, I’m no expert but I thought your camera work was spot on! Thanks. Subd.

Locely video, thank you.

10:17 I noticed 37075 has lost its indicator boxes at one end, but retained them at the other, possibly due to crash damage and a replacement nose.
thank you great stuff

Living in the Worth Valley the KWVR as been a great asset to the area.Like all preserved railways it’s a novelty and great for kids.
Thank you for watching! I agree!

Thank you for watching! I think Pacers as just as important to our railway history as the A4s.
Excellent piece of work. Intelligent (and silent) commentary. Very steady shots. No frenetic zooming. BUT! A loco isn't a 'train'.
Thank you for watching and glad you like it. Not sure where you think I'm saying a "loco is a train" as that's something that annoys me when I hear people calling a loco a train!
A light engine (ie loco without any attached rolling stock) is effectively a train whilst running on signalled track.
I used to go on the railbus for the new year mince pie specials
Excellent steam locomotive.
How could anyone not appreciate such a handsome, pristine locomotive like 78022 ???? No taste.
Just a copy of an Ivatt design, seriously was this even needed as there was more than enough Ivatt's out there.
I like the standard 2s more then the ivatt 2s (at least the tender engines), but I see what you mean.
If a pacer can do station shuttles while a main train does full line that is quite good
Brilliant video Henry.
Thank you!
Well that was quite a complicated video😁. 78022 is a lovely old loco.
Old! She's of the young, so to say, generation of steam locos, a granddaughter. Looks brand new!
It may not be so old, but it is charming!
14:30 that looks like quite a speed, i thought heritage railways were heavily reduced speed?
Supposed to be 25MPH except I think the Great Central which has a linespeed of 60mph
@@frenchsteam7356I think you're right, the latter because, unusually for a heritage railway, it's double tracked
@@superted6960 it’s still 25mph when hauling passenger trains. 60 mph when testing mainline locos.
turns out, that steam, was a lot less polluting, than diesel, and battery operated is a neat idea
hi, great video, well done to the 37 for rescuing the loco, what was wrong with the confounded thing, ? what would Mr Perks make of a diesel going through his station ?
Thank you for watching! Times chance but I'm sure he'd be happy to know his station is still open.
Don't you just love a freakin know it all " shame they haven't got a decent engine"
To anyone who complains about anything on a Heritage Railway, I say ' What's your contribution to the heritage industry?'

A yellow handsignal means caution-not stop.
Maybe they use it to request the driver to stop, seems like it might be a request stop
@@N.P.1892 Just had a thought -the train was standing in the loop. if there wasn't any fixed signals then that was what the yellow handsignal was for.
Was that some sad rivet counting two kids I heard? This is why I hate going to events now. Ungrateful clowns

Usually he uses Windows Movie Maker

@@Northerner_Transport_Hub I use both.
Problem probably popped up because you visited the railway.😂😂😂😂
Trouble does seem to have a way of finding me! ;)
Why on earth would anyone want to preserve a Pacer?
There's over 50 preserved so they're clearly popular!

Pacers preserved. Why? Because of their awfulness?
Because of their place in railway history, they have plenty of fans and a number of railways would have been closed had the Pacers not been built.
