I feel like if you're on a train for 24hrs you should get 4 meals,e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner and breakfast. I'd get cranky and hangry if I had to be in a confined space for 24hrs and there's like 8hrs between my last meal and when i can disembark and get a proper meal. The train experience looks like something everyone should try at least once when in Canada. ❤❤🇰🇪
You guys are excellent videographers. This was both professional and entertaining to watch. Love your enthusiasm! One of my bucket list items is to take The Ocean just like you did in a sleeper. Then take The Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. In 2019 I rode the California Zephyr from Chicago to Oakland, 4,000 km and 50 hours. Had similar accomdations as your train. The American Rocky Mountains are spectacular from a train view, but I understand the Canadian Rockies are better ;). Cheers!
I will tell you about my 10 favorite Canadian musicians 1) Guess Who 2) The Band 3) Neil Young 4) Joni Mitchell 5) BTO 6) Rush 7) Pat Travers 8) Triumph 9) Bryan Adams 10) The Tragically Hip
@@DaveMani : I was stuck with the top bunk too. I’m 2 inches smaller than you. My feet were touching the wall. BTW, our compartment was different than yours. Bathroom was next to the window. That bathroom made me feel like I was in the Jetsons cartoon. So small! Sink was difficult to operate. Both me and my mom skipped showering and doing the usual stuff. We waited until we got to our hotel. We were going eastbound and didn’t ride the whole way. So, we missed out on the crossing of the infamous Quebec bridge.
Great video! Looking forward to your next train journey. I am taking The Ocean this fall, any advice on tipping the service crew? How much would be a decent tip? Thanks so much.
To be honest, we saw our train attendant once for 2 minutes during the journey and did our turn down ourselves so did not tip him. And for the waiters, we saw a few people leaving about $5 to $10 per meal.
You're right. It's just that fir that price, I expected a little bit better. It was not even as good as airplane food. Apart from deserts which were a 10/10. 👍🏼🇨🇦
Good video , not for me ... but you need to try the rocky express ... that is a real train ride......Bienvenue a Montreal , Septembre est comme juillet manifique.
I'm leaving from Halifax to Montreal in a sleeper cabin, connecting in Montreal to Toronto in business class in Halifax in Nov, do i have to check my larger luggage so they put it in the separate rail car or can I store it in my room ?
That is a very good question. We did check on each but mainly because we had a lot of luggages. My understanding is that you are allowed onboard with one luggage and one personal item like a backpack or a purse.
I forgot to ask when debarking from the ocean train from halifax did they take your luggage off and place it on the landing, if so where did they put it as I have to transfer from the ocean train to the one going to Toronto in business lol
Have you noticed that they no longer wear the rubber black wedding rings like back in Kenya? Did they feel unsafe whilst here or? Coz Tracy is rocking her engagement + wedding band and even Dave’s ring is not the black rubber one 🧐🧐🧐🧐
I never took mine of really... and Tracey's ring is full of diamond and she wants to keep it clean and all so this is why. She was westing in Kenya in restaurants but not on safaris. She is doing in same here in Utah when camping.
Watch our ride on the most beautiful train journey in the whole world in Switzerland! 😍➡️ th-cam.com/video/dRcoQSv02jk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cUUFCo3Qapa--g_8
I actually did A portion of the Glacier express train back in '19.
Love trains! What a fun way to go.....thank you for sharing....
If you get to ride that train someday, be prepared for close quarters if you're in A sleeper.
Thanks for watching! :)
More trains in the fall foliage and winter for snow. Switzerland Christmas video is when I discovered your journey!
That's amazing! Thanks for sticking around :p
What an original experience! Can't wait to see your next adventure. 😍
Much more to come :)
That was so fun to watch! I live in HFX and have always wondered what that train trip to MTL would be like. This helps a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
So nice to see you guys, it's like you never left 😊. Love the train journey you should definitely turn into a series 😬.
That's the plan! :p
I've done this same trip albeit in the late 90s. Nice. Lovely view. Would love to do it again
If you do something similar again, we highly recommend doing it in Western Canada. Its 100 time better.
I totally like taking the train and getting a sleeper room as well!
We liked it too :)
The trains are amazingly well maintained and managed. I'd take train against plane anyday.
Fair enough. But for the price I have to say, the plane is much more convenient!

We got lunch dinner and breakfast cause the train was like from 11am to like 10am the next day.

Thanks a lot for that and yes, that would be amazing! We would love to do the one going through the rockies! 🇨🇦
You guys are the cutest 🥰
Thanks Jess :p
Should we start a train series?!
A BIG YES! I would love to see you both ride The Canadian! I love you guys and I love trains ❤
That could be fun! :P
Please do we love trains
Absolutely. Train is the unexplored beauty of travel. I love trains.
Yes....
Oh, you're now in my backyard? Last time checked on you you had just relocated to Kigali, Rwanda from Nairobi. Welcome home in time for Christmas 🎁
We never moved to Kigali. We were in Kenya fir 4 years and now travelling full time. :)
Glued for more 🎉 wonderful
More to come!
That train is right out of the old testament 🤣
100% loll All the good trains in Canada are on the other coast.
Great vlog 🤩
Glad you enjoyed.
You guys are the cutest 😍😍😍
Thanks a lot dude! :)
YES!
👍🏼

I live in Halifax and travelled to Ontario by Via in 2018 and 2019. I want to go from Halifax to Vancouver by Via some day.
That would be quite a trip!! We really want to do the ride around the Rockies one day!
@@DaveMani I have travelled by car throughout Canada but riding the train across Canada would be so exciting and relaxing. I love train travel.
You thought it was tight in the beginning, just you wait until the beds are set up.
Haha you are right!

If you decide to tip your sleeping car attendant, tip in Canadian currency.

Hii fiends 🇲🇺✨️
Hello! :) How are you?
Have to remember guys, none of that food is prepared fresh. That soup came out of a can, gotta love food prepped by Chef Mike Rowave eh?!
You're right. It's just that fir that price, I expected a little bit better. It was not even as good as airplane food. Apart from deserts which were a 10/10. 👍🏼🇨🇦
@DaveMani It's a joke for what you're charged and you get microwaved food although it is better on the Canadian I believe
I’ve done this exact trip twice. In economy class it’s not worth the money.
Fair enough. The plane is by far the best option. ✈️
guys try transCanada train from Toronto to Vangouver 5days on train
YEAH! That would be so cool. 🇨🇦
Good video , not for me ... but you need to try the rocky express ... that is a real train ride......Bienvenue a Montreal , Septembre est comme juillet manifique.
100% faire ça dans l'Ouest c'est très haut sure notre liste!
You have to do The Rocky Mountaineer! I suggest the route First Passage to the West for anyone who rides it the first time.

So for sure, we check-out one luggage each in the terminal and saw those back in Montreal.

Where and when did Dave learn how to edit videos?
I learned by myself doing it really.
Hi Dave! Do you handle editing yourself or outsource it? I’m an editor and would love to discuss, if you’re interested
I do it all myself :)
Got it! If you need any help in the future, feel free to connect
How much was it from Halifax to montreal
I don't remember exactly but I do say it at the end of the video. $375 CAD maybe?
