Well if you think about it sf game has ken, ryu, akuma, saget, chun, dan, and rose. Thats not all of them but I get it. They are not all the same when it comes to thete combo, but they are shoto. I would love to see all 3 boxers in one game for once.✌🏾
Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Kage, Dan, Sakura? The first four I'd say all fit being shotos, while Dan and Sakura each have a special move or two in the "shoto trinity" that's a little bit different in function. Dan's Gadoken isn't really there as a zoning tool like the others (same for Kage's Hadoken but he has Shakunetsu to compensate) while Sakura's Shouoken is a bit less of an antiair than the standard Shoryuken. Dankukyaku and Shunpukyaku look different from the standard tatsu, but function similarly enough. The moves still have their uses and I count Dan and Sakura as "close enough" shotos, unlike Gouken or Sean who I'd count as "shoto-offshoots."

Makoto was 2nd most popular character voted (behind Sakura) in all of SF. Maybe after adding Ed a character a lot of people weren't excited about, give us a fan favourite.

Ed was always dope tho. Sf v newcomers are always gonna be sour to ppl just because they’re associated with sf v. Same reception felt for rashid in 6. Even tho Ed and rashid are great additions to the game. And sf v has a really bad reputation even tho think it deserves more respect nowadays
@@LouisAuguste Depends on your interpretation. The popularity of the character for himself/herself is different from the character being a popular pick because he/she is good to play, strong, etc... Competitive factors. The competitive viewpoint can make even stupid or zero charisma characters popular picks. There are also characters who are difficult to play in average to low skill levels, which affects their usage rates. So what the op comment shows is that a lot of fans love Makoto regardless.

They try that with 3rd Strike with Gill and that didn't plan well and they did that with SF4 with Seth and that didn't plan well either. We can't rinse and repeat having to bring Shadaloo back everytime after Bison is defeated again, I know he's like a fan favorite but come on with something new and original.
The Shadaloo storyline doesn't need to be continued for heavenly kings to come back......fighting games don't even have amazing stories, just make them selectable characters if nothing else lol.
I personally think Menat is a much better pick than Rose for SF6. She is a fan favorite and her playstyle is very fun and unique. Id like to see how they adapt her currently.
We need more characters that aren’t from SF2. It was crazy that the base roster of Street Fighter 6(Before Rashid and Ed) consisted of Street Fighter 2 characters, new characters, and Juri.

Plus it is suggested that Lily learned to fight from T. Hawk's teachings. So basically two (three if you include JP replacing M. Bison) of the Shadaloo bosses have been replaced so why not Vega too. Honestly, the fact that Urien wasn't on the main roster for SF6 was kind of a gag (though tbh, having no SF3 characters on the main roster given SF6 takes place after SF3 is my main gripe with the game).

Please don’t bring back Bison. Let the story move on for the love of God. Vega, Balrog, and Sagat would all be better picks. A lot of people don’t care about the story, I get that. But there are those who do, so it’s really just better to not bring him back at least for now. If he does come back. Give him the SFV Seth treatment. He’s just there for a little bit but has nothing to do with the main story. A glorified cameo.
Just give his moveset to a new character. Its not fair on Bison players to get screwed over by a story 99% of players don't want or care about. Whilst the rest of the SF2 cast (mostly) just get free appearances in every game.
The Ed rework kind of made me lose hope they’d bring back Dudley. The the rolls and machine gun blow their gameplay would visually look too similar outside of the flicker gimmicks. Before I saw Ed gameplay I was hoping dudley but I’m less confident now.

There are a lot they could add. I think Sean should have been DLC this season especially after having his younger version in 5. I know people don’t care for sf storyline but I think the dlc characters should be based off where they are in the whole of the story. Everyone has gotten older. I would like to see a more refined version of makoto who has an established dojo. Akira would be cool. Sodom or Rolento as well.
sf6 characters are a lot more work to make overall, but I agree that at least five would much much better both for filling out the currently-sparse roster and for making the pace of character releases better.
Four characters for each season to me is a great idea but the whole game needs 32 30 for retuning and new and 2 for crossovers from other games. (Tifa Lockhart and Leon Kennedy sounds good to me)
Fans want fan favorites in.....Capcom is adding new characters that have no demand over the classics.....if a season is an entire year there needs to be at least 5 - 6 characters in my opinion. 4 is not bad but they can slow down once more characters make it in too.

My picks/guesses for s2: Sakura, Sagat, Makoto, Cody. I think that's what would make the overall fanbase happy and bring representation for all the games that aren't currently in 6. I'd say Dudley and Bison are very likely for later seasons.

I had made up a DLC "Want Back" tier list and my top 7 ended up being Viper, Laura, Sean, Mika, Alex, Makoto and Gouken. In that order. It is definitely time to get C Viper back.

I can already see Urien in the working perfectly in this game. Agesis could be a lvl 1 super meaning he can do multiple His lvl 2 could be his sf5 super the big electric dunk And his lvl 3 can just be some cinematic beatdown he would be great!
The problem with bringing Bison back isn't that it would be 'stupid' or something to bring back someone who's supposed to be dead, but that Bison coming to SF6 just plays more into this game's current issue of not being able to move on from SF2, as well as the real problem is that it just completely takes away from any effort Capcom is trying to make to have a new villain with JP and a new direction with the Shadaloo arc with Ed. It's not a matter of if Bison CAN come back, it's about if he SHOULD, and I really think it's time to retire the character for a bit.
I don't mind Bison coming back but he should either not be a part of the main story (maybe a disembodied ghost, maybe in an alternative reality), but I never want to see him as the big bad again in the main story. So tired of that story beat
As unlikely as it is, I personally still want Twelve back and completely revamped. They could lean into his lizard alienish aspects and make him even more monstrous. Even better if he has a shapeshift or move steal mechanic. 13 is bad luck in many cultures so they would probably rename him Fourteen, which would fit the whole “similar but different” thing they did with Lily and AKI.
No boss SFII characters (Bison, Balrog, Vega, Sagat). I feel like the original 8 is all the SFII representation we need. They hold the vanguard and allow a new supporting cast to step in. Plus, Balrog is so frustrating. Remake characters that didn't get their due the first time around - Ed(yep), Hakan, Necro, Gouken, El Fuerte, etc.

It is shameful indeed and there were some pretty cool characters in SF3. Not a fan of every newcomer in SF3 but the majority were cool. Personally I didn't like Urien. I really, really want to see Necro & Sean in season 2. Aside from those two Dudley, Elena, Remy, Q, or Twelve would be nice. Ibuki is great but she could probably sit one out after being in 3 games straight. The other SF3 newcomers I'm pretty neutral on.
Totally because I'm a story buff and I'm also an obscure character guy. We need Sean and Necro! Sean has always been a joke character in 3 but they saw how well people have received him in terms of personality. He's been shown to have done some training like Dan has, so I'd love to see some growth in his abilities like we did for Dan in 5. Also, I would love to retool Necro into SF6 and still have him be a Stun based character.
Luke stole quite a few of Sean's Moves though.. but It be cool if they replace Luke with Sean ^^ Just let Luke get crushed by a Roadroller to free up that Spot for Sean in some patch
@@RyuNoZero Luke may have Sean's moves but that's like telling all the Bruce fans of Tekken that they can't have him because Josie and now Azucena has some of his moves. Bring Sean back and show the years of training we missed out on and he'll probably have some new moves up his sleeves.
Alex, Makoto, and Cody would be my top 3 with Dudley and Gouken being 4th and 5th. Makoto and dudley are practically built for this game. Give cody back his knife, his rocks, and his criminal upper and maybe ditch the zonk knuckle. Alex is trickier to fit, would love for his ddt to be a regular special move again. Brawler/grappler hybrid is an awesome archetype and marisa needs some competition Gouken is a unique twist on our beloved shotos and and should be given more love and time to be part of the series
Sean - because he's a cool design and has a lot of potential if reworked and brought back as more of an MMA style fighter, as Luke does a terrible job of this. Sagat or Adon - preferably Adon to represent Muay Thai. I'm surprised there's no Muay Thai representative in the game. Yun and Yang - or at least Yang because it's been a while since he was playable and he could be a really neat addition. C.Viper - because I feel like she'd suit being in this game, and she'd probably have interesting lore.
That's a good reminder, no Muay Thai representation is strange. And i never made up my mind about Sagat or Adon. By lore maybe Sagat has less chances because of his latest story developments. By gameplay i think Adon would be more interesting because he is a melee fighter and this game's systems favors offense and crazy combos.
I kinda disagree with M. Bison. Besides JP it's strongly implied that Ed could unintentionally go down the same path as M. Bison. That's something interesting to explore. At the very least bring back M. Bison but don't make him canon in the story. What I do agree with is that Dudley vs Ed would be an interesting matchup given their style and age differences. But besides those characters I think we need a few more grapplers. I wanna see Alex, El Fuerte, Sodom and Hakan.
Gouken is in my Top3 too! Even I - a mediocre player at best at that time - got a few positive messages when I played Gouken and how stylish he can be. My other two in the Top3 are Sagat and Menat. I guess I like zoners. Rose is one of my favorites as well!

The lack of Final fight characters here is sad. You steal their city and not use them? If Cody isn't voice by Kenny, he would be neat. Lucia would be my favorite pick for a Final fight character, she was fun in V and Gamerbee was awesome to watch with her. Poison seems unlikely now that ED took all of her things. Kolin from your list would be my pick if I had to stick to yours.
This game's base roster messed up particularly about not having at least a single one SF3 char and at least one FF char. Those two chars would make the most sense in a game (1) in the future timeline, (2) and set in Metro City.
I don’t understand why they keep making completely new characters, they have so many characters in cannon they’ve never used or characters they introduced and never used again. Abigail in sfv is a great example of introducing a character already in cannon. They should do Mike haggard for sure in my opinion. We need more big guys, hopefully one that isn’t a grappler. Too many female hot characters are being introduced. Need somebody who’s big and badass and hurts.
I dont think this game will bring back the same movesets from old games, it is changing everyone. But if you meant bring back Cody's SFA costume then ok.

The "guy on the left" is Veloc1raptor. Watch his Gouken SF4 matches if you haven't already - he 1000% knows his shit. The guy on the right is more a fan of the lore than a competitive player, which is still a valuable perspective IMO, but you're right he definitely knows less than Veloc1raptor when it comes to the hardcore FGC community.

I'd love Seth again.
If they were to do Bison and Rose for season 3, they could do a whole Rose centric DLC season like Rose, Bison, G, and Guy. Would Probably be ordered in released like Bison, Rose, Guy, and then G last. I would not be mad at this plan for a season 3 especially if they did a revamped story mode for it specifically.

Rival Schools characters. Akira was superb fun in SF5. Seeing Hinata and Tiffany as background characters (Kanzuki Beach stage) was hype. Any of those two would be a great addition to SF6. Other characters (Batsu, Kyosuke, Roy, etc...) I've said this once, I'll say it again... if Capcom ain't making a new Rival Schools game, they should at least continue including its characters into Street Fighter. Can you imagine the potential chain combos they could pull off from the drive rush commands? I sure can. lol
I hope the current SF makers consider saving an obligatory char slot to Rival Schools from now on. They made an important step to improve the lore consistency of the SF franchise. The truth is that the older SF devs (since the 90s) were on a mistake by never adding RS to new SF games. So that long time negligence makes Akira's debut feel like a "guest char" to some fans, but RS actually belongs to the SF world. The SF devs in the 90s maybe were biased against RS because it was a new and uncertain franchise... but the pure logic of excluding RS just doesnt make sense, in the same period they were adding Final Fight chars to SF (starting in SFA1 from 95). And not few chars: A1 got some, and A2 and A3 got more. So it is a contradictory and biased decision, probably just because FF at that time was a popular and influential franchise (and it was still alive). In short: FF was included and RS was excluded for financial-related factors and not a respect for lore. Which is very sad and disappointing to realize. But this new SF duo of producers finally fixed that mistake of many decades in SF5's last season.

Plus it is suggested that Lily learned to fight from T. Hawk's teachings. So basically two (three if you include JP replacing M. Bison) of the Shadaloo bosses have been replaced so why not Vega too. But I'm mainly just guessing

Honestly, the fact that Urien wasn't on the main roster for SF6 was kind of a gag (though tbh, having no SF3 characters on the main roster given SF6 takes place after SF3 is my main gripe with the game).

Please don’t bring back Bison. Let the story move on for the love of God. Vega, Balrog, and Sagat would all be better picks. A lot of people don’t care about the story, I get that. But there are those who do, so it’s really just better to not bring him back at least for now. If he does come back. Give him the SFV Seth treatment. He’s just there for a little bit but has nothing to do with the main story. A glorified cameo.
Just give his moveset to a new character. Its not fair on Bison players to get screwed over by a story 99% of players don't want or care about. Whilst the rest of the SF2 cast (mostly) just get free appearances in every game.

There are a lot they could add. I think Sean should have been DLC this season especially after having his younger version in 5. I know people don’t care for sf storyline but I think the dlc characters should be based off where they are in the whole of the story. Everyone has gotten older. I would like to see a more refined version of makoto who has an established dojo. Akira would be cool. Sodom or Rolento as well.
They NEED to give us more than four characters for future seasons. Street Fighter V gave us six characters per season
sf6 characters are a lot more work to make overall, but I agree that at least five would much much better both for filling out the currently-sparse roster and for making the pace of character releases better.
Four characters for each season to me is a great idea but the whole game needs 32 30 for retuning and new and 2 for crossovers from other games. (Tifa Lockhart and Leon Kennedy sounds good to me)

My picks/guesses for s2: Sakura, Sagat, Makoto, Cody. I think that's what would make the overall fanbase happy and bring representation for all the games that aren't currently in 6. I'd say Dudley and Bison are very likely for later seasons.

The problem with bringing Bison back isn't that it would be 'stupid' or something to bring back someone who's supposed to be dead, but that Bison coming to SF6 just plays more into this game's current issue of not being able to move on from SF2, as well as the real problem is that it just completely takes away from any effort Capcom is trying to make to have a new villain with JP and a new direction with the Shadaloo arc with Ed.
It's not a matter of if Bison CAN come back, it's about if he SHOULD, and I really think it's time to retire the character for a bit.
I don't mind Bison coming back but he should either not be a part of the main story (maybe a disembodied ghost, maybe in an alternative reality), but I never want to see him as the big bad again in the main story. So tired of that story beat

As unlikely as it is, I personally still want Twelve back and completely revamped. They could lean into his lizard alienish aspects and make him even more monstrous. Even better if he has a shapeshift or move steal mechanic. 13 is bad luck in many cultures so they would probably rename him Fourteen, which would fit the whole “similar but different” thing they did with Lily and AKI.

It is shameful indeed and there were some pretty cool characters in SF3. Not a fan of every newcomer in SF3 but the majority were cool. Personally I didn't like Urien. I really, really want to see Necro & Sean in season 2. Aside from those two Dudley, Elena, Remy, Q, or Twelve would be nice. Ibuki is great but she could probably sit one out after being in 3 games straight. The other SF3 newcomers I'm pretty neutral on.

Totally because I'm a story buff and I'm also an obscure character guy. We need Sean and Necro! Sean has always been a joke character in 3 but they saw how well people have received him in terms of personality. He's been shown to have done some training like Dan has, so I'd love to see some growth in his abilities like we did for Dan in 5. Also, I would love to retool Necro into SF6 and still have him be a Stun based character.
I'd like to see Necro come back just to see how they would render his goofy shape shifting stretchyness in 3D.

Sean - because he's a cool design and has a lot of potential if reworked and brought back as more of an MMA style fighter, as Luke does a terrible job of this.
Sagat or Adon - preferably Adon to represent Muay Thai. I'm surprised there's no Muay Thai representative in the game.
Yun and Yang - or at least Yang because it's been a while since he was playable and he could be a really neat addition.
C.Viper - because I feel like she'd suit being in this game, and she'd probably have interesting lore.
That's a good reminder, no Muay Thai representation is strange. And i never made up my mind about Sagat or Adon. By lore maybe Sagat has less chances because of his latest story developments. By gameplay i think Adon would be more interesting because he is a melee fighter and this game's systems favors offense and crazy combos.

I kinda disagree with M. Bison. Besides JP it's strongly implied that Ed could unintentionally go down the same path as M. Bison. That's something interesting to explore. At the very least bring back M. Bison but don't make him canon in the story. What I do agree with is that Dudley vs Ed would be an interesting matchup given their style and age differences. But besides those characters I think we need a few more grapplers. I wanna see Alex, El Fuerte, Sodom and Hakan.

The lack of Final fight characters here is sad. You steal their city and not use them? If Cody isn't voice by Kenny, he would be neat. Lucia would be my favorite pick for a Final fight character, she was fun in V and Gamerbee was awesome to watch with her. Poison seems unlikely now that ED took all of her things.

This game's base roster messed up particularly about not having at least a single one SF3 char and at least one FF char. Those two chars would make the most sense in a game (1) in the future timeline, (2) and set in Metro City.
I don’t understand why they keep making completely new characters, they have so many characters in cannon they’ve never used or characters they introduced and never used again. Abigail in sfv is a great example of introducing a character already in cannon. They should do Mike haggard for sure in my opinion. We need more big guys, hopefully one that isn’t a grappler. Too many female hot characters are being introduced. Need somebody who’s big and badass and hurts.

To be honest i like how things are going with jp as the main antagonist, its a welcome change as you get tired of seeing the same person as the antagonist.

The "guy on the left" is Veloc1raptor. Watch his Gouken SF4 matches if you haven't already - he 1000% knows his shit. The guy on the right is more a fan of the lore than a competitive player, which is still a valuable perspective IMO, but you're right he definitely knows less than Veloc1raptor when it comes to the hardcore FGC community.
Violent Ken as a new but different E.Ryu, makoto, c.viper, and necro with some new unique stuff would be cool

Alex, Elenna on advantages they have Vitality regen so it wouldn't be hard to do that for her and Eagle love the battons and We've had rolento in SF4. I'd love Seth again.
Gill, Urien, and Cody must be in sf6.
I want Zeku (or a new Strider character), Cody, Makoto, Dudley and Kolin (if 5 characters are allowed in next season).
If they were to do Bison and Rose for season 3, they could do a whole Rose centric DLC season like Rose, Bison, G, and Guy. Would Probably be ordered in released like Bison, Rose, Guy, and then G last. I would not be mad at this plan for a season 3 especially if they did a revamped story mode for it specifically.
And if they were to do 5 characters, just add Menat...Menot? Menat? Add her as the character after Guy and before G.
Dudley is, without a doubt, the character I want to see the most. My next four would be Sean, Falke, Menat, and Cody.

Capcom hates 3rd S and they hate Sean. It's obvious they are not bringing Sean back; the evidence? DeeJay has already taken the niche of the "caribbean guy", also Luke is basically a rehashed Sean if you think about it.

@@RebornOdin dude the entire aesthetic and vibe of sf6 is literally just 3rd strike. 3rd strike is revered as one of the best in the series by many casuals and professionals alike. Evo moment 37 anyone? It's ridiculous to not have even 1 3rd strike character yet they butchered alex happily in 5. It's sad honestly and I was hyped at launch but now the game feels stale and every dlc has been cool. But still feels like wasted potential. Every season after this will be better guaranteed, nowhere to go but up lmao
M.Bison is definitely and should absolutely come. No character in any fighting game plays like him and he is incredibly popular. Fuck your lore.

Nah let him stay dead. Seriously he's been in every game except 3. He can sit out another game, and just like in 3 it was more than likely for lore reasons. Also if Bison comes back that just means this entire series is heavily carried by SF2. It's time to move on.
An astute observation. This entire series is carried by its legacy characters, especially SF2 characters. That is why they are heavily featured in licensing and games. This is not a bad thing. Most video game companies would kill for IPs that have Capcom's brand recognition.

Rival Schools characters. Akira was superb fun in SF5. Seeing Hinata and Tiffany as background characters (Kanzuki Beach stage) was hype. Any of those two would be a great addition to SF6. Other characters (Batsu, Kyosuke, Roy, etc...)
I've said this once, I'll say it again... if Capcom ain't making a new Rival Schools game, they should at least continue including its characters into Street Fighter. Can you imagine the potential chain combos they could pull off from the drive rush commands? I sure can. lol
I hope the current SF makers consider saving an obligatory char slot to Rival Schools from now on. They made an important step to improve the lore consistency of the SF franchise. The truth is that the older SF devs (since the 90s) were on a mistake by never adding RS to new SF games. So that long time negligence makes Akira's debut feel like a "guest char" to some fans, but RS actually belongs to the SF world.
The SF devs in the 90s maybe were biased against RS because it was a new and uncertain franchise... but the pure logic of excluding RS just doesnt make sense, in the same period they were adding Final Fight chars to SF (starting in SFA1 from 95). And not few chars: A1 got some, and A2 and A3 got more. So it is a contradictory and biased decision, probably just because FF at that time was a popular and influential franchise (and it was still alive). In short: FF was included and RS was excluded for financial-related factors and not a respect for lore. Which is very sad and disappointing to realize. But this new SF duo of producers finally fixed that mistake of many decades in SF5's last season.
