The difference between Karnataka and rest of India is clearly there
One factor is that of benign efficient people loving Mysore Wodeyar rule whereas most other parts of Indian subcontinent was under direct British exploitation and or under regressive rulers .400 years of rule of Wodeyars made the difference
The other factor which differentiates Karnataka from other states is that of social cultural religious reform movement of Lord Basaveshwara way back in 11 th century predating Karl Marx predating raja ram mohan Roy predating Ambedkarji and predating feminist movement by 900 years No other area of India had such wide ranging reforms so early
