Thank you for an excellent, detailed, review. I bought a BP in 0.177". I also have a HW100 from 2008. Weihrauch products are superbly engineered and reliable. Now seriously considering a "matching" BPK in 0.22" for my Grand-daughter!
I own a 100s Walnut .22 and this new one is NOT the same gun on a new stock. The same superb engineering yes but arranged slightly differently. I like it because it's purely mechanical - no electronics, batteries etc........and it's regulated in Weihrauch's own way. (cue discussion). Excellent unbiased presentation Steve as always and shows it's not overly fussy with the the test pellets used. (My 110 .177 loves Accupel FT 8.64gr with Napier) I think I've made my mind up now.
I have the BPK. Fitted a rat works light weight cylinder which also gives an extra 15-20 shot count and noticeable weight difference. Absolutely love this gun!!! The gun stock cuts into the top of my trigger hand after a while - I think I need gloves. I had the Airmax SF 50mm obj lens but it looked ridiculous and top heavy. It looked like a gun attached to a scope rather than the other way around. Opted for the Airmax compact 44mm - soooo much better!! Pellet on pellet at 26m every time!!! Cannot recommend this enough for those with the budget and are won over by the looks.
The cocking lever is exactly the same as the hw100 sporter and thumb hole, the only addition is a byathlon style handle on the end of it. Still one of the all time absolute best pcp air rifles in the world. Also 110 shots is more than you think if you just slow yourself down a bit and take the time that you actually need to settle down to get a proper shot at the target, You will find that you have been shooting for two hours before you need to refill the rifle, and you shooting should improve also.
Great review. Was one of 3 on my list but ended up with a .177 dream pup mainly because of the sheer lightness, i found the HW gorgeous but heavy and a small mag. Quieten it down with a Donny Tatsu (baby Sumo), perfect for it and takes about 3 inches off the length. Was amazed by the Chinese pellets had heard they were good but that was stunning. And on the pellets you should try the JSB Heavy 10.3 in the test have found that they out perform the 8.6 in all calibers and all my guns. Great review and have fun with it while you have it.
Yes it is a bit heavy compared to the new rifles from Brocock and FX. The mag is ok, but a little small, but works perfectly. My 1st play with the Chinese pellets and quite interesting
Can't see the point of the karbine version at all. The standard is really compact in its own right, gives you a lot more shots and more importantly let's you add a bipod whilst still allowing you to hold the fire grip.
Steve Allan well aye. I just can't see a place the standard wouldn't work. If it was a full size rifle and the karbine was 8 inches shorter then definitely. Just seems you have to give up a lot for a slightly smaller, small bullpup.
Try and get hold of the Blackpool Air rifles hw100 bull pup kit with a regular hw100 action in it, if you buy a second hand hw100 and a conversion kit (it includes all the bits nessisary along with the stock to convert the rifle to a full bullpup) and you will still have change from a grand.
Good review Steve couple of points though. I'm not sure what the problem is with the fill gauge, you don't need to look down the barrel to read it, there must be thousands of HW100 owners out there and I've yet to hear of any accidents. The fill probe is ok once its in place it won't fall out.
Thanks Bill. I know there is no real problem with the fill gauge being where it is if careful. I just personally hate the idea of being forced to look down the pointy end of a rifle.
Very nice, not a terrible shot count tbh. That’s more shots than my trusty s200 for pest control 👍 Fac would probably be about 40 shots per fill but you’d more than likely have your cylinder with you close enough to refill.... I’d still rather have an impact over anything else for ratting and rabbits.
Nice review. I had a go with one the only downer was the weight. Its too heavy. The Wildcat is lighter, cheaper and has a higher shot count. Great quality gun though. The fill probe is fine. I have had a HW110 for 2 years with the same probe. Its been out in the field day and night with it on a sling and the probe has never come out.
I've owned a wildcat and I think the lightweight is detrimental, good for carrying around but the extra weight of the hw helps it on aim and when firing. My hw100bp is far more accurate than my wildcat ever was. You also get a silencer and 2 mags as standard with the hw100bp and the mag was a pain on the wildcat imho. The MK1 wildcat was quiet but the MK2 is loud with the shorter shroud, deffo needs a silencer.
@@Mike_P646 Yes 👍, you are very right, the lightweight Wildcat is not easy to hold, more so on a windy day. The HW100 BP is very steady. Good build quality. The magazine has a small mark, which I found useful. I place on the top visible portion and if its seen again - then it's empty. No more counting shots. Thank You Steve for the lucid review.
First PCP I've ever owned was a FX streamline. Horrible for a rifle. I then bought a Weihrauch hw44 pistol .22 and I SHIT you not it was more accurate than my streamline. I got rid of it and now have a LCS air arms semi auto.22
I have the original HW100KT. It's a lovely rifle but the shot count is dire. £1140 is too expensive for a sub 12 ratter when you can get an equally accurate and powerful rifle with just as good build quality for hundreds less.
Great video Steve 👍 I know you are not a weihrauch fan but you gave them a great review. I have a HW 100 and I love it the only thing about it is I wish the gun shot hotter for the American market
The verminator mk2 ugly? How dare you sir?? LOL just goes to show how we all see things differently, I love the look of the verminator mk2, especially when a hugget full length shroud fitted.
Hi, I currently have an HW97KT. Lovely fun but it’s too heavy for wandering around the farm. For this would an HW100BP be better than an HW100KT? If so, would the standard be better than the Karbine in Bullpup?
Thanks Steve cricket it is. May i just say what a great channel this is and how refreshing it is for someone to take the time to answer questions. Thank you@@airgunology
Not all that much. Most of what you hear is close to your ear and not audible to people / quarry further away. With no silencer, it is loud due to the short barrel.
Well due to the small air cilinder you can handpump fill it so could this gun be the one pcp viable for prepping 🤔 springer is best for that but it could be.
My thoughts exactly. I'm a bit of a Prepper and don't have a gun yet. It's a toss-up between the Bullpup carbine and the HW100KT Laminate? I can't make my mind up! 🤔🤔
Hi Steve,a great review,i do like the Bullpup although i did think the styling was a bit odd when it first came out,has since grown on me,would i buy one yes i would, cost wise £1100 + seems to be the bench mark for entering into the "Premium Air Rifle Club" these days, maybe in a year or 2 at the moment my HW100kt Laminate is just the ideal Rifle,.............. for now!!!.
I own a weihrauch 100 laminate without any doubt at all. it is one of the most accurate air rifles in my collection but is not my favorite but you've got to give it to weihrauch the company they make one of the most reliable air rifles in the whole world compared to a lot of these air rifles are made out there today around the £2,000 Mark they're not reliable and not accurate
Yup they do make bullet proof rifles and accurate to boot. But the looks and shot count is what lets them down in my eyes. Although many swear by them, just look at the HW100 followers.
So just bought this unit last week, i went with smaller unit hw100 Bp £1k.. i did get a scope Airmax 30sf compact 4-16x44 SF, So wondering now its been a few years, what small silencer would you recommend ? also, i'd like a live record scope. Any hints :)
i have the BP-K in .177. gets about 40 shots at 17fpe and very accurate at 45 yards. (my sight in) the gun you're reviewing isn't available in he u.s., the BP here is a loooong 40".

Yeah it is our country rules. We can get high power, but have to apply for a Firearms License (FAC) and that is not as easy as you need a "proper" reason. But 12ft is good to kill rabbits etc out to 50 - 60m and it does mean we have to be good shots with always head shots.
Not sure if HW is keeping up with the times. The gauntlet will have no problems keeping up with this one. Ohh yes it's ugly as hell. The HW are known to be pellet fussy.

It's a HW100 ...
Thanks, it is based off a HW100 and so carries much of the same characteristics of the great HW100 including build quality and accuracy
I have the BPK. Fitted a rat works light weight cylinder which also gives an extra 15-20 shot count and noticeable weight difference. Absolutely love this gun!!! To small for me but I love the idea, i like the bigger version (wish that weihrauch could increase the shot count though.
Can't see the point of the karbine version at all. The standard is really compact in its own right, gives you a lot more shots and more importantly let's you add a bipod whilst still allowing you to hold the fire grip.

Merry Christmas to you as well

Not a fan of bull pups steve but I do like the way they have fitted the picatiny rails nice review
Great review as always
Might consider one when second hand ones appear 👍
Thanks and yes the pic rail is simple and so easy. Wish all rifles came like this
Nice review. I had a go with one the only downer was the weight. Its too heavy. The Wildcat is lighter, cheaper and has a higher shot count. Great quality gun though. The fill probe is fine. Yes this is right up against the Wildcat. I too would prefer the Wildcat

awesome airgun👍 knowing by 3 years experience
Consider the HW110 Karbide (short version) - much nicer compact rifle than the Bull Pups - cheaper too! 😎
Great marksmanship

Just to clarify I got rid of the streamline I still and always will own the hw44 pistol.

I like HW's a lot, the HW100 was is an awesome rifle along with the HW97.
Is it possible to change from 177. To 22. And viseversa?
The verminator mk2 ugly? How dare you sir??
LOL just goes to show how we all see things differently, I love the look of the verminator mk2, especially when a hugget full length shroud fitted.
HW100 the best air rifle or not, same question applies to 177 or 22. personally I only like HW100

Narrowed my choice down to Weihrauch HW100 BP or KalibrGun Cricket Standard Synthetic. If you had to choose which one would you go for?
Cricket, played with both (owned the cricket) and the cricket is the nicer and more accurate rifle.
Thanks Steve cricket it is. May i just say what a great channel this is and how refreshing it is for someone to take the time to answer questions. Thank you@@airgunology
How loud was it to shoot? some reviews state that it is louder compared to standart WH100 due to mechanics beeing closer to your ear...

It is a desired taste. Not for me either, but still a good rifle.
The length mentioned is with silencer.
can it be used with a scope with standard eye relief or is a scope with extra short eye relief recommended like the hawke touch?
Any scope will work as long as it fits on the rail and you can get the eye relief. The person who's rifle this is used a standard Hawke scope
@@airgunology tnx, i guess i´ll go with an Airmax.
how many shots do you get in 22 FAC

what is the best air rifle you have ever shot
Bit dear but its a nice rifle that will take some stick, if I went for it I would have to sell a couple of mine so it will not happen.
Yes it is typical W bullet proof and sturdy

let me ask how much is hw100 fsp and how much is the discharge pressure?
Depends on the country you buy it in and the power rules allowed.
